Operosa Opera Festival[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Operosa", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it appears to represent an organization rather than an individual. Please read WP:CORPNAME. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. --David Biddulph (talk) 04:47, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your user name and conflict of interest[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Draft:Operosa, and I noticed that your username, "Operosa", may not comply with our username policy. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a username change that complies with our username policy. Your pleas for re-review of your Draft on my talk page[edit]

Do not restore or further poke me about your draft. I've indicated what I see the problem as, other editors have noticed the same problem, and your username is quite troublesome. The next time you poke me, I'm going to open a Administrators Noticeboard discussion about having you blocked for Role account misbehavior as your own commentary has suggested that you are editing either as multiple people or as the corporate entity for the organization. Hasteur (talk) 13:02, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Diannaa (talk) 02:42, 21 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

Hello, I kindly request that you accept a change of name for this account and that you unblock the page Draft: Operosa. I am a fan of opera in the Balkan region and like so many people enjoy very much using Wikipedia. I am in awe of your work and I had never tried to be active user or edit on Wikipedia before this and wanted to start by trying to help with making a page for a very nice festival in this region. Before I started I contacted Operosa and they said that someone had already started a page but which was rejected. They had been given the account password and I have tried to help using the Operosa username and also with my own username MariaKristianova. Now it seems I have caused more harm instead of good and I am quite confused what I can do now. I sincerely hope I have not caused a permanent block for this festival. I admire what they do in the Balkans; in my humble opinion they deserve to be included in Wikipedia. Obviously your vast experience and dedicated expertise will determine the result. As much as I would like to contribute to Wikipedia this has not been a promising start. Thank you for your consideration.

Decline reason:

Self-admitted compromised account. Also self-admitted sockpuppetry, although here I would assume good faith but ignorance of the rules.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 19:41, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest using only User:MariaKristianova from here on out, as we now have no choice but to leave this account blocked as compromised. We do not permit shared accounts to edit, as it interferes with Wikipedia's content licences. As for the draft itself, it still exists and may still be edited; the block is solely on this user account. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 18:50, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
