Raised cosine

That looks like an excellent contribution to me! I know its quite technical but it probably needs to be so. I will defer opinion on complexity until we've a few more comments. But well done!.--Light current 02:32, 5 November 2005 (UTC)

The raised cosine filter is listed on the linear analog filter template, but it is a linear DIGITAL filter. This should be fixed. PAR 21:29, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Would probably make more sense to put feedback on articles on the relevant talk page rather than here, so that everyone can see it. See my response at Talk:Raised-cosine filter. Oli Filth 22:14, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi! I was wondering how you made the plot of the different rolloff values of the filter? I've been using rcosine and then freqz() to plot the frequency response, but of course for the nyquist pulse it is less than ideal. I have to include a plot similiar to this in a report I'm writing for GMSK vs. M-QAM. Cheers!

At the time, I didn't have the Signal Processing toolbox, so I didn't have rcosine() or freqz(), so I plotted the graphs "manually", by using the equations as in the article. By Nyquist pulse, do you mean the plot for ? I think I faked that one. Oli Filth 20:54, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

You recently placed a speedy delete tag on Christian Filippella. I do not think that he fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because there are claims of significence. In particular, Christian Filippella is the only director who studied in two of the most prestigious film schools in the world. He is a multi-awarded young filmmakers. His short films have been very successful and screened in many important international film festivals. He recently screened many of his short films at the Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly hills in a special evening organized to pay tribute to years of hard work in the independent short film industry. He then received great reviews. http://community.thelot.com/blogs/stud88/2007/07/26/Italian_Director_Christian_Filippella_Star_rising He is considered one of the most promising up and coming filmmakers in the World. He is currently preparing his first feature film with the important German producer Roland Pellegrino. He also worked many years as first assistant directors in many TV series and on films. His first short film "Silver nail" was shot with no budget and then selected at the European film festival in Helsinki. "Il rigore piu' lungo del Mondo" was chosen among the best 8 student short films in the World in 2004. I hope you remove the tag. Thank you.

Hi, I just read the message you left to me. Thanks. I just realized that not everybody is entitled to edit the articles. If everybody does it, the the articles will become very messy. Those awful behaviors were really not my intention. Thank you for your message! I just moved my comments about Wiener process to its talk page. I hope that somebody can respond to my comments. License tagging for Image:OFDM receiver ideal.png

Thanks for uploading Image:OFDM receiver ideal.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:05, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Regarding your removal about Full Service Broadband

Hi! The Full Service Broadband text under broadband article is just a short summary. My intention is to describe an "overview" what Full Service Broadband is with e.g. technical graphs etc. but cannot do it for the moment since I’m not 100% finished.

Yes it might sound like a marketing spiel, but that’s not the intention. When describing the benefits of Triple Play, VoD, IMS, etc. is that marketing spiel!

Apologies if it really wasn't a spamming attempt, but vapid buzzword phrases such as "triple play paradigm", "adding mobility and extending connectivity" and "Network-to-Network Interfaces ensure interoperability with partners such as other operators and enterprises" read exactly like marketing speak, and are completely non-descriptive and uninformative.
If you are writing an article, please make it more informative and to-the-point than this!

Secondly where do you think Full Service Broadband should fit in? Br, Behzad —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Behzad.farmand (talkcontribs) 14:07, 9 December 2006 (UTC).

As to where to put this information, it clearly does not belong as the second paragraph in the Broadband or Broadband networks articles. Once you have findished the main article, links from various broadband-related articles may be appropriate. Oli Filth 17:31, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Edit war

I, thanks for the heads up on the revertion-rule. I have posted an answer on my talk-page. I would be thankful if you gave me a reply. (And if you like, feel free to remove this message on your talk-page).

Best regards 195.159.3.166 aka Ga-david.b

Hello again. I see that the reversion-war banner has been removed, but I think you removed it a little to quickly as i think there still are problems with the article, and we still have a hard time with aggreing on a text that are both unbiased but still critical. Ga-david.b 13:26, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi, I got your message. I agree with your decision, and hope it will end up in something that could resolve the whole matter. Have you reported us upwards to someone with administrator capabilities? I definitely hope so, because the disagreement between DigitalRadioTech and me has been going on for months now, and to be honest I have no clue on how to end this. By the way, I see that DigitalRadioTech claims that we have agreed on a compromise, but this is not correct. No compromise has been presented for me. So, once again, thank you for trying to resolve this matter. Ga-david.b 09:06, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

DAB

Oli Filth, congratulations, you have just contributed to Wikipedia propagating lies. I have backed down because quite simply I'm wasting too much of my time sticking up for something even though I KNOW for absolutely certain is right! Basically, I've been bullied into backing down by you, Ga-David and Segrov.

I hope you feel proud of yourself for supporting people that deny that 192 kbps MP2 (the least efficient and oldest audio codec out of the audio codecs that are in-use these days) sounds worse than NICAM at a bit rate of around 724 kbps or APT-X (usually) at a bit rate of 384 kbps or (occasionally) 256 kbps. What an absolutely absurd suggestion, and yet just because I cannot actually prove it they get away with lying and hiding facts through technicalities.

I also hope you feel proud of yourself for supporting employees of NRK and/or P4, which are DAB broadcasters in Norway, who have continually lied about DAB over the last 18 months and continually slurred my character in the process.

Judging by your behaviour on here, I think you're in the wrong profession, pal. You should be a lawyer, not an engineer. Engineers are supposed to improve the world, not use technicalities to try and degrade things, which is what you've helped happen.

You said that you wondered why I was so bothered about this issue even though I could easily just say that 92% sound worse than FM instead of 99%. The one and only reason why I was bothered and why I wouldn't accept this is because saying that 160 kbps sounds as good as FM is a lie, and I am against lying. Clearly you're not. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Digitalradiotech (talkcontribs) 17:50, 19 March 2007 (UTC).

In response, I can only say that there was no intention to "bully", at least not from me. All you had to do was find some credible/verifiable source that backed up your claim, and I would have fully supported you.
You're probably right that 160 kbit/s DAB sounds worse than FM, but you can't expect people to simply take it on faith that what you "know for absolutely certain is right" is actually correct. You can't get away with that in the scientific profession; even if you are the world's foremost expert on a subject, you can't simply publish unsubstantiated claims; there must always be a paper trail that allows people to verify that what you say is fair, and not just hearsay. Wikipedia isn't a scientific journal, but one would imagine that it aspires to the same level of rigour.
Quoted from WP:ATT: "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is whether material is attributable to a reliable published source, not whether it is true."

zero ohms versus short circuit

When you visited my talk page, you wrote:

Also, I'm not sure why you have a problem with the definitions "zero resistance path" and "always having zero volts across it" being equivalent. You say that "a short circuit is not at all like a zero ohm resistor but is instead, an ideal voltage source where the voltage is exactly zero", but this is no different to a voltage source being equivalent to that voltage source in series with a zero-ohm resistor, or a resistor being equivalent to that resistor in series with a zero-voltage source, etc.

There is a subtle but distinct difference between something that is defined to be zero and something that is allowed to be zero. It's not that I have a problem with this. I understand the difference between the two very well. It's that, to be precise, there is a difference between a zero ohm resistance and a zero volt voltage source.

For the zero volt voltage source, the voltage across the source is defined to be zero. This is an identity. V is identical to zero.

For a resistor, the voltage across the resistor is defined to be R * I. Allowing R to be zero does not define V to be zero! For finite I, there is clearly zero volts across a zero ohm resistor. However, using a limit argument, I can (mathematically) produce an infinite I that will produce a non-zero voltage across a zero ohm resistor.

This may seem like hocus pocus but consider a well known derivation of the area under the unit impulse using a pulse of width X and height of 1/X. In the limit as X goes to zero, we have a finite area given by the product of 0 with infinity.

So, if I set the product of R * I to be V (by putting a V volt voltage source across the resistor) and then let R go to zero, I goes to infinity and the product of R * I remains V!

I hope you understand that my nitpickery is not intended to be a rant in any way but is instead meant to stimulate a conversation among EEs having a beer or three. Alfred Centauri 21:53, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

>>>

You then followed up with:

What you are saying is equivalent to saying that there is a meaningful solution (or useful definition) to 1 / x at x = 0, which can be derived from a limit process. But there isn't, not least because there are two confliciting limit processes (\lim_{x->0^+} and \lim_{x->0^-}). Sure, we could simply assign a definition to the expression (e.g. by choosing to work on a projective geometry), but what use would it be? e.g. we're told that I = \infty and R = 0, so V = ???.

I can't agree with you that what I'm saying is equivalent to what you're saying. Can you show this equivalence? I'm sure we can agree that the phrase "product of zero with infinity" cannot be taken literally, given that infinity is not a number, so that we can't actually evaluate the product in the ordinary way. Instead we can, at best, say that such a product is indeterminate. To evaluate it, a limit must be taken.

If you do this in the way I described, you will, by design, get the result that the product of R * I is V as we approach the limit of R = 0 (and from either direction, I might add) so the limit does appear to exist. I hope we can agree on that.

BTW, more food for thought along these same lines. What is the rms value of a zero frequency sinusoid? Certainly, the rms value of a sinusoid of vanishingly small frequency is 1/sqrt(2), right? Alfred Centauri 00:05, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Another note on an entirely different subject. My first 'real' guitar was a previously owned Gibson SG that I purchased in 1977. I loved that way it played but I couldn't get it tuned to save my life. I replaced it a couple of years later with an Ibanez Artist [1] that also played wonderfully and would tune up quite nicely. A few years later, I traded the Artist for a 1985 Les Paul Standard which I still own. Alfred Centauri 01:36, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Lawrence Ball

Hi, Oli. I've removed the "delete" tag from Lawrence Ball's Wikipedia page. Deletion of Inmac

This is apparently a major company, so I decline to delete. Please remember that speedy deletion can only be used if there is no indication or assertion of importance. Saying a company is in the NYSE is an assertion of importance. It is not always a good idea to nom for deletion one minute after an article is created, unless it is obviously vandalism or attack. If in doubt, you might want to consider WP:PROD. DGG (talk) 14:17, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I noticed that it mentioned NYSE-listing, but I wasn't under the impression that being publicly-listed is notable in itself.
You might be right about the speed at which I nominate things for deletion; however, I was "patrolling" the recent changes list; if you leave anything there more than a couple of minutes, it disappears into the noise. Oli Filth 14:34, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Ed Trice Encryption Invention

Hello,

Just so you know, I disclosed the invention of the IOTPCP to Dan Golub, a partner of the Law Firm of Morgan, Lewis, & Bockius. Present at the meeting was Bryan Peckjian, a patent agent.

http://www.morganlewis.com/index.cfm/personID/b7f7ec42-dfc0-44f5-8a23-d9fd3ad087e0/fromSearch/1/fuseaction/people.viewBio

I am not sure how to cite Dan as a reference.

After meeting with government officials in Washington, D.C., after the 9/11 attacks, I gave them this encryption algorithm for free. The NSA independently verified that the cipher could not be broken.

FYI.

Re Gaymation

Can you please respond to the "deletion talk page" as to why google is the "end all, be all" of a Wiki Entry? and little to no faith in the Outfest LGBT film archive being set up with the UCLA film and Television archive? That they, Outfest, use the term in their festivals "gay animation" program Or that it has been used in printed form, so linked to, 5+ years ago? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sappyhucks (talkcontribs) 13:35, 29 July 2007.

Re: Gaymation References

The sources have been listed for source needed approval on GaymationSappyhucks 15:18, 29 July 2007 (UTC) (I'm learning)

If you do "delete" gaymation

can I ask that it be stubbed? I apologize for the lack of history being documented in LGBT cinema as a whole. This is something I can't control as LGBT cinema, rights and identification is still not traditionally accepted. But as requested, I have added a reference link to 2 online news/press archives with the term used and a reference to the term used in 2002. I have been asked if Yaoi was Gaymation and have responded clearly, no, Yaoi is Gay Japanimation. Japanimation being the "sub" class to Animation. Yaoi being a sub class to manga so in essence, it's a sub class to a sub class for Japanese Animation (japanimation), a subclass to animation. I am working on more factual information and could quickly fill google with gaymation links if that is all we are looking for. But that wouldn't be productive, honest or informative to the subject, this site or the work needed to obtain rather hard to locate information. But I understand, from looking up "how to post a reference link in wiki" on google, the return value was nothing but wiki tips and tricks to get your site listed for better seo. Again, If you are going to cast the term aside as a newly created word, even after a link, as requested, was posted to use and time line, stub it so it can be worked on until it's at the information quota needed to be valid for anyone not LGBT. Not a stab but when I post a term use by the lgbt community and the official GLBT film festival who is working to restore and archive GLBT cinema but keep being told it's not a real word, I'm offended to say the least. Sappyhucks 19:09, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, firstly let me clear up that I cannot delete anything, I'm not an administrator! I only listed the article on AfD (articles for deletion). At the time, there were no references, etc., so the article looked like one of the many hundreds of nonsense articles that get added to Wikipedia every day. I looked on Google, not a lot turned up, which got me suspicious. Now that some references have been added, I'm happier that this term does actually exist.
However, I still believe that the article needs work; as some of the other editors have commented, the article is mostly just a list of uncited (and possibly non-notable films). If this can be sorted out, I have no objection to the article remaining. Some more information on what actually characterises "Gaymation" as opposed to just animation would be useful, I think.
I appreciate your efforts to adhere to Wikipedia policies; most new editors make no such effort. Oli Filth 19:20, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Tagging of The Buggers

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on The Buggers. I do not think that The Buggers fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because I think that there were at least claims of significence. in particular, "Missed Encounters were also realised as pamphlets and as a website for the art institutes Witte de With, Rotterdam in 2004 and Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam in 2005." is such a claim. I have added references/sources. Can you please tell me if this is done correctly? Thank you -- Angelika 23 22:25, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for looking for better sources. The sources themselves seem fine; however, typically what is done is that individual facts in the article (or paragraphs, sections, etc.) are cross-referenced to particular sources. Picking a random featured article, see Hilary Putnam for a good example of what this looks like; notice how individual sentences, etc. are hyperlinked to specific references. To learn how to do this, see WP:References.
I'm not suggesting that you need to be as comprehensive as the Hilary Putnam article, but some cross-referencing might benefit the Rich Apuzzo article. In particular, the "Other services provided" section, as that sort of list is notorious for attracting nonsense, and it then becomes impossible to tell fact from fiction.

Shopping malls

Please refrain from adding speedy deletion tags to articles with a claim of notability. Shopping centres are not suitable material for speedy deletion, as they routinely survive AfD if nominated. I have rollbacked these tags accordingly, and please do not do it again. Rebecca 23:42, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

They shouldn't have been. Speedy deletion is not a convenient way of getting rid of articles which are likely to be contested on AfD. Rebecca 23:54, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
I suppose there's nothing stopping you, but it's pretty bad form nonetheless. If an article could well survive AfD given an expansion, it shouldn't be speedy deleted. Rebecca 00:02, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Please let me keep editing this page and never delete my contribution without any notice. If you have any questions, you can contact me at my email address in “my preferences.” Thank you for your consideration, —The preceding unsigned comment was added by AlicePark (talkcontribs) 01:50, 3 August 2007.

Hi,
Are you able to provide evidence for this claim? Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and if there's any doubt, the usual thing to do is to remove the contentious material. In this case, even if it weren't copyrighted, the material you added reads like an advert for the company, not least because it's written in the first person. The history list has no sources, and is completely over the top for an article of this size. If you want to reintroduce this material, please ensure it is rewritten in a more encyclopaedic tone (not in the first person, and no hyperbole such as "take great pride"), and provide references. Suggested reading is Wikipedia:Guide to writing better articles.
I will continue to contact you via Wikipedia, not via e-mail, as discussions about editing of Wikipedia articles should take place on Wikipedia. Oli Filth 08:17, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your reply, Oli! my appology that I didn't know there are so many guidelines for the contribution. I'd like to provide evidence for this claim, so will fax you an official letter from KT. I wonder if you can let me know the fax no. or another way to prove it. I'll also edit my article as you mentioned above, and want to ask if you can give me back the previous article that I wrote because I didn't save all data before. best, Alice

Copyrighted Editing

Hi, I was creating the article "Active picture", and you flagged it up as copyright violation. I also edited other articles, such as ADSL and Aliasing with similar definitions, and these were all deleted. I work for the company that provides the definitions, so it is not copyright violation. up and coming filmmaker

Hi Oli,

You recently placed a speedy delete tag on Christian Filippella. I do not think that he fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because there are claims of significance. In particular, Christian Filippella is the only director who studied in two of the most prestigious film schools in the world, the American film institute (being the first Italian director to enter the program) and the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, the oldest film school in the world. Tagging of Westchester County Board of Legislators

I removed the PROD from Westchester County Board of Legislators. You tag it six minutes after I create the article, I am still fixing the links.. Also, I added more information on the Board. If you feel the article still not up to the standard, please help me on how to improve it. Thank you. Note, the page is linked from Westchester County, New York, I previously msispelled the link.. Speedy deletion of Medison

I disagree with the speedy deletion of Medison. It sure was short, but I think it's better to have it tagged as a stub and by adding sources to the little material present in the article. Gabriellundmark

Verne Ray

I have now stubbified it. when I do this, I first remove the speedy tag to prevent deletion while i am in process of doing so, and say I am doing it, not I have done it. I suppose it will clarify things to add an underconstruction tag as well, which is more conspicuuous. Please give people a few minutes to do what they're doing. DGG (talk) 20:42, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Hewlett-Packard

I added link to employee blogs to correspond to the listing of Sun Microsystems employee blogs. Why is this a problem?

IanGriffin

Normally Wikipedia discourages addition of links to blogs, but I've reread the WP:EL guidelines, and it seems that "those written by a recognized authority" are ok. So I'll re-add the link. Sorry about that! Oli Filth 19:08, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Appreciate it. I'm a Wikipedia newbie and that is my second entry so I am basking in a warm fuzzy glow :-) Ian
One other thing to note is that adding a link that in turn links to your own blog could easily be considered a conflict of interest. I would strongly recommend discussing potential additions on the relevant talk pages before making any changes to articles.

Jeff Horner

I am very new to wikipedia but I was under the idea that this was an open forum. Jeff Horner is currently playing in the Euro Basketball leauge. Feel free to google him. I assure you, I am not Jeff Horner, just an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Any advice to a new wikipedia contributer?

Hi,
You are right, Wikipedia is open for anyone to contribute. However, articles must meet certain criteria; in the case of biographical articles, these are described at this page: WP:Notability (people). If articles don't meet the criteria (e.g. by not providing references, etc.), then more often than not, they'll get deleted.
I guess the best thing to do is to create a user subpage, where you are free to edit the article in your own time, and it will be free from deletion criteria, etc. Follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Subpages#How_to_create_user_subpages, and just ask if you need help!
Thanks, Oli Filth 22:35, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for the help Oil Filth. I will try and validate the contents of the page using the criteria mentioned with the link offered. Thanks again. Feel free to help out with him, hes a good basketball player!

Copyright / Conflict Of Interest

Hi, you and other people have recently told me that edits I was making to certain pages were both against copyright and conflict of interest regulations. I have a letter from the content holders (Quantel) giving us (the IABM) permission to use their content on wikipedia. It also addresses the conflict of interest issue, as both websites that will be linked to on each page are non-commercial, free of charge, and provide useful definitions of technology terms relating to the broadcast & media technology sector, which may be of value to a researcher. How do we let wikipedia see this letter, either by forwarding or scanning the letter? And if this answers the issues that have been raised by you and two other people, will it prevent people continuing to delete my edits? Thanks again, Cindy141 09.50, 13 August 2007

Disc Golf

Thanks for adding the "how to" banner to the article. I was aware that many parts of the article were not encyclopedic and more of a guide. Do you have any suggestions on how to replace the material? Does one simply remove it? Rewriting it to make it properly encyclopedic would be difficult, and would need numerous other cites, but is that one's best option? Discgolfrules 21:53, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately, those are the only options, as Wikipedia doesn't exist to inform readers on how to do something. My suggestion would be simply to remove any content from the article that is nothing to do with the game itself (i.e. content that would be of zero interest to a reader who doesn't intend to play the game). For instance, the "Disc Flight" section is almost entirely a guide on how-to throw, and should be removed; similarly, a lot of the "Throwing style" section is how-to as well.
Anything else that is in the second person ("you", "your", etc.) should at the very least be written in the third person, and then go from there.
If you need a hand with any specifics, let me know, and I'll see if I can help. Oli Filth 22:46, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

User:Sneathd and Rebus mind map obsession

Hi,

Keep reverting! I'm helping out too, he's trying to get it onto The Naming of the Dead. Do you think a Welcome to WP - stop testing/ warning is in order?

AfD tags

Hello. Just a reminder: you recently submitted 28 Slices Later (Short Film) to AfD but you did note include a notice to that effect on the article. This led me to start a second AfD, unaware of yours. If you regularly prod and AfD articles, I suggest you use the twinkle scripts which are very convenient (and of course, avoid this sort of small mistake!) Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 19:10, 20 August 2007 (UTC) Ha ha... looks like we got our messages crossed. Ah well, no harm done! Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 19:11, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

The long standing problems with the user named InfoCheck

Some information of which you might not be aware.

http://www.gothicchess.com/nalls.html

That person has long since engaged in repeated attacks against me, the game of Gothic Chess, and my patent. This is the reason I consider him an adverse candidate and a person that should be prohibitted from posting material to the Gothic Chess article.

Hi. I understand that you removed the link I placed on the Wikipedia Gospel page. I accept that you have removed this, but can I ask why you have chosen to remove it? Thank you for your time.

Because the site it links to appears to have zero information content. Oli Filth 11:01, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
I kind of understand that, but that was partly the idea. The true Gospel as contained in the Word of God is simple. To date that is the simplest, yet most accurate representation of the gospel that I have come across on the internet. You will not find it better explained anywhere else. I know the Wikipedia page goes into depth and history, and that is a huge benefit, but surely there should also be a consideration of it's simplicity, universality and wonder. I believe this site presents a no frills approach (like the Bible itself does) to the truth of the Gospel (the Good News) of Jesus Christ. It is maybe not worthy to be presented in this format as a unique Wiki page in itself, but is surely deserving of a link from the number one information source on the web? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonny82 (talkcontribs) 11:10, August 27, 2007 (UTC)
Please read Wikipedia policy/guidelines at WP:External links. Oli Filth 11:13, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
I have just read it, and I really do not see where it has been breached. I would appreciate it if you would reconsider. However, I do not want to cause an issue. I'll respect your opinion, although I am a little surprised by it. Thanks for taking the time to reply. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonny82 (talkcontribs) 11:23, August 27, 2007 (UTC)
Two quotes from that page:
  • "links ... could contain further research that is accurate and on-topic; ... or other meaningful, relevant content"
  • "Is it proper in the context of the article (useful, tasteful, informative, factual, etc.)?"
External links should only be added if the destination site will impart more information to the reader of the article. The link you added clearly does not do that. Oli Filth 11:36, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

I declined speedy on this one, but nominated it at AFD. There are some claims to notability there but without sources. Also, some of them use WP:WEASEL words ("Brewer helped establish laws...") so that we don't how instrumental or notable she was in getting Maryland to pass its law, etc. Anyone who gives to PickADisease charities can claim they helped cure it. RATM

..."identified as vandalism"...?

tell me, how is changing a statement from the future (something that is going to happen) into the past (something that has happened) classified as "vandalism"..? The planned shows they were due to play at Rock the Bells/Alpine Valley have been played - past, gone, finito. Anyone reading the article will see the original statement and the word planned and be inclined to think they haven't happened yet. False information wouldn't you say. Roguestate

I assume you're talking about this edit. I was reverting the vandalism of User:Altricity7491 back to your edit (as the summary says, "Reverted 1 edit by Altricity7491 identified as vandalism to last revision by Roguestate.")!!

Re:Sonny Gambino

Given the obviously contentious nature of the article, I would suggest taking it to WP:AFD. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 18:58, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Tagging of Paul Spatola

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Paul Spatola. I do not think that Paul Spatola fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because claimed membership in a notable band. I request that you consider not re-tagging Paul Spatola for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. You are, of course, free to tag the article with {{prod}} or nominate it at WP:AFD. Carlossuarez46 21:24, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
