Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Robert Carli, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Paid editing?[edit]

Hello Octopus69. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. I'm sorry - I thought I already had answered TheRoadIsLong on this question - and Bri - hopefully you'll read this as well.

No to paid editing. A good portion of my revisions has been doing a few repetitive things as I continue to get use to Wiki's ways of doing things. Anyhow, I'm now finished with the Marty Simon post and want to place it on Wiki but it keeps getting kicked back. Maybe you can tell me what I'm doing wrong. In response to Theroadislong and Bri.public, first my apologies in not responding sooner. Thought I had but I think I was mistaken. Second, there is no paid editing. I know that this practice is forbidden by Wiki. I thought that Marty Simon has had a varied career that involves several aspects of the music business that deserved recognition, including considerable time spent in Quebec, and there are several nuances to his livelihood. Many of those edits involved trying to link him to Wiki in Quebec, which is not the easiest of tasks since it took a while to find those sources. And sometimes I'm figuring out the code. I like to be as thorough as I can, and tinker and spend time with it over lengthy periods of time, so I am constantly revising stuff. I don't understand why you wish to punish me for being meticulous. I've spent over six months on Simon's particular page. It is now ready. How do I place it on the main Wiki page without getting it bounced back to my draft section? Thank you for your assistance.Octopus69 (talk) 14:27, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm wondering why sites like AllMusic.com and imdb.com are not considered reliable sources of reference considering their mandates are very much similar to Wikipedia's mandate. I also am intrigued as to why you don't consider Wikipedia a reliable source of reference, since this is the very house you helped build. And here is my question: if I remove those sources of reference, will the information still be accepted? The reason I listed them was to help verify the facts. In some cases, there was no other source of verification I could source. Would they be accepted or deleted if I don't find an alternative or substitute.
