Nice work![edit]

...on your new article Princess Taihe. I noticed it in Talk:DYK. Have you seen my new article, Economy of the Han Dynasty?--Pericles of AthensTalk 20:20, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not until you told me :-). Very nice, although I will say that perhaps I am not the right person to critique it, since economics, whether modern or ancient, has never been my strong suit when looking at history. It's certainly a lot of good reading and scholarship. Thanks for the compliment as well. --Nlu (talk) 22:28, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, in that case, you might be able to better critique History of the Han Dynasty.--Pericles of AthensTalk 23:02, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, wonderful. WONDERFUL. The only immediate thing I can notice is that, I think, pursuant to WP:MOS-ZH, items that have articles of their own shouldn't also have Chinese (or any other foreign language) included unless the context demands it, and I actually do think that there's a bit too much Chinese in here — I don't think, for example, Xiang Yu's suicide needed to be given in Chinese. But that's very minor. I'd be happy to look at this and copy-edit in this area if you don't mind me doing. Please let me know what you think. --Nlu (talk) 02:07, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry! I never saw this on your talk page! Feel free to copy-edit.--Pericles of AthensTalk 14:56, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also, look to the bottom of this page for the new section I just created; two new links there.--Pericles of AthensTalk 14:57, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for getting back to me. Again, the article looks very nice. When I get a chance I'll try to copyedit it. --Nlu (talk) 16:57, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that this category you created is unpopulated (empty). In other words, no Wikipedia pages belong to it. If it remains unpopulated for four days, it may be deleted, without discussion, in accordance with Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#C1. I'm notifying you in case you wish to (re-)populate it by adding [[Category:199 births]] to articles/categories that belong in it.

I blanked the category page. This will not, in itself, cause the category to be deleted. It serves to document (in the page history) that the category was empty at the time of blanking and also to alert other watchers that the category is in jeopardy. You are welcome to revert the blanking if you wish. However, doing so will not prevent deletion if the category remains empty.

If you created the category in error, or it is no longer needed, you can speed up the deletion process by tagging it with {{db-author}}.

This dude actively searches for the personal info of admins. its best to change your username as it contains your real last name, or he will dump it on his website. He actively stalks admisn by lookign them up over the internet, and posts thier adress, name, and other info on his website, its best to remove that you practice law too. best to remove all your info that contains things like your alma matter, delete your user page, then restor it without the info because this guy stalks admins relentlessly.Tik Takki (talk) 19:28, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up, but I think I am OK. After all, a lot of my personal information actually, by law, has to be public information anyway. --Nlu (talk) 05:14, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yi Zhang[edit]

I laughed when I saw today's AFD log: not of course because you had trouble, but because of the results — it looked like you were trying to delete AFD :-) Here is the diff, if you want it. Nyttend (talk) 15:25, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ugh. Thanks for catching it. --Nlu (talk) 04:19, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AFD[edit]

I bumped into two nominations of yours today, and I was disappointed to see you only rely on what was in the article to determine notability. It is okay to ask for wider input if you're not sure, but you need to show you've done some legwork. The AFD page, the deletion policy and WP:BEFORE all say that deletion is a final solution and that ample efforts should be undertaken to save a page when possible. At the very least you should google a topic before putting it up for deletion (and share what came of it in the nomination). - Mgm|(talk) 09:16, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I felt that they both bore signs of being WP:PEACOCK. I thus felt that they were not good articles to be kept, anyway. --Nlu (talk) 09:23, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reign of Kaiyuan and Reign of Zhenkuan[edit]

Hi. Just want to point out to your attention these articles have not yet been written in english wikipedia. Reign of Kaiyuan in Tang Xianzong's time and Reign of Zhenkuan in Taizong's time.Teeninvestor (talk) 00:53, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the suggestions. My guess is that I am not necessarily going to write them myself since I think those have been covered sufficiently in the emperors' articles, but I appreciate the suggestions. --Nlu (talk) 03:55, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just curious, and you'll have to forgive me because Asian history is not a subject I know much about, but why is the artice tagged for the Korea project? PC78 (talk) 13:05, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Li Shidao's grandfather Li Zhengji was of Goguryeo origin — and modern Koreans view Goguryeo as a Korean state (exclusively — most Koreans deny any Chineseness of the state), and while I do not generally agree with the exclusiveness of the claim, there is clearly a Goguryeo element in the modern Korean people. That's the reason why it's tagged so. (Indeed, for a while, a parallel article to Li Zhengji under the title of Yi Jeonggi claimed, without any supporting sources, that he established a new Goguryeo state on Chinese soil.) While I disagree with that reading of history (which I considered fantastical, not to mention unsupported) I do think that there is enough of a Korean connection that the Korea project should be tagged. Thanks for your input. --Nlu (talk) 18:43, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm, seems like a rather tenuous connection to me. Sure, I can see why Li Zhengji would be tagged for the project, but for his decendants who have no direct connection of their own, I'm not so sure. PC78 (talk) 18:51, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe, maybe not. I would not object if you, in your judgment, remove the tag. --Nlu (talk) 19:41, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

article Yigupai was illegally copy and pasted to doubting antiquity school. This violates the GFDL liscene, as you are supposed to use the move button, and not copy and paste. and not to mention the fact that the original page history cannot be seen, you must move it over the redirect —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.155.141.202 (talkcontribs)
