On references[edit]

  • Thank you very much i will definitely try to improve the references and citations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 113.193.128.255 (talk) 11:19, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

can i please know what exactly i need to do for putting proper citations. is the institution official website link enough with some famous college review website links for reference ? user:Nihar.suryawanhi

  • The institution's own website is not enough - after all, there is no institution anywhere in the world that would not claim good things about itself. They can do that on their own website, but that is the nature of PR/marketing. But for Wikipedia they are simply not a reliable source. What is needed is generally a bylined article in a reputable publication supporting each claim. See also WP:ONUS. AllyD (talk) 20:11, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted your removal of the citation-needed tags on Sinhgad Academy of Engineering. Please note that on Wikipedia, every claim needs to be backed by a reliable 3rd party source or it is liable to removal. So it is not enough that you, or the institution itself, say that it "holds a good record for placements"; it needs to be backed by a verifiable source. AllyD (talk) 08:29, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • As above, I reverted again. Please find references for claims, as per Wikipedia policies. AllyD (talk) 06:51, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The difference between advertising copy and encyclopaedic text[edit]

You reverted my removal of "Students here enjoy campus life. There are two lawn tennis court and huge cricket ground. When you are done burning calories in Basket Ball court the SIBAR canteen is at rescue. The awesome ambience at SIBAR will soothe your mind.If you are bored with one canteen there are three more canteens in the campus accompanied with lots of hangout places around." Let's examine this in more detail:

  • "Students here enjoy campus life." (1) Where is "here"? An encyclopaedia is not place-bound. (2) As I highlighted above, every claim needs a reliable 3rd party source. So for example an article in the Times of India where a recognised journalist says "Students enjoy campus life at Sinhgad Academy of Engineering."; without that, it is an unreferenced WP:POV claim.
  • "When you are done burning calories in Basket Ball court the SIBAR canteen is at rescue. The awesome ambience at SIBAR will soothe your mind.If you are bored with one canteen..." (1) This is not fact-based text, it is suggestive writing, of the type found in an advertising brochure not ever in an encyclopaedia. This is a general point across all articles; PR prose is never appropriate. To take an example, an encyclopaedic article on the MS Windows desktop technology would not say "If you are bored using Notepad, why not try a game of Minesweeper?" nor would an academic essay; they would stick to the facts.

I have edited the text down to something more factual, but you need to find a reliable 3rd party reference for the claim needing citation. AllyD (talk) 07:42, 14 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

November 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Sinhgad Technical Education Society may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Speedy deletion nomination of NBN school of engineering[edit]

Hello Nihar.suryawanshi,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged NBN school of engineering for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Wikiuser13 (talk | contribs) 18:08, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on EQ Technologic, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Thank you.

The article EQ Technologic has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organized event, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:26, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of EQ Technologic[edit]

Hello Nihar.suryawanshi,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged EQ Technologic for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. ubiquity (talk) 16:50, 11 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
