DFCU Financial[edit]

Hello. Thanks for your past help with the DFCU Financial page. I am not a Wikipedia expert, and this page is a constant source of vandalism and tendentious editing--including unfounded statements about current staff members and business practices. I believe that this is the result of one individual who keeps creating new user names when one is banned. I'd really prefer not to get into an editing war, but I really am not sure how to block an individual. Can you help? Thanks so much. Mdb751 (talk) 13:22, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Vandalism reverted, sockpuppets blocked, page semiprotected for a month, added to my watchlist. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 14:12, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much for your help. I will continue to monitor as well and report abuse, and will refrain from editing wars in the future even if the content is forbidden. Mdb751 (talk) 13:57, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jessica Billings[edit]

I am trying to create a wikipedia page for a pageant competitor, Jessica Billings. Apparently, a page like this was created by someone but then deleted by you, seeing as this message shows up when I try to create her page:

"A page with this title has previously been deleted. If you are creating a new page with different content, please continue. If you are recreating a page similar to the previously deleted page, or are unsure, please first contact the deleting administrator using the information provided below. 01:40, 5 September 2011 NawlinWiki (talk | contribs) deleted "Jessica Billings" ‎ (A7: No explanation of the subject's significance (real person, animal, organization, or web content))"

So, since it told me to contact you, I am. :) I'm not sure what I'm supposed to say to you, though. The article I'm creating will have sources that are news stories and such, which will hopefully provide an explanation of Jessica's significance. She has a facebook page I can send you (not that that totally proves she's a real person or anything, haha)... Let me know what I'm supposed to do...

GBA[edit]

I am not an employee of GBA. I am writing an article about their contributions to aviation and will be updating it with accurate and verifiable information. My user name does not reflect this because I chose it based on my subject. I wonder how the conflict of interest notation could be removed from that page. Please advise.Groenbros (talk) 13:52, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Probably best for you to make a new account or change your username. Per Wikipedia:Changing username, "Users who have made very few edits are encouraged to register a new account and discard the old one." But see all of the advice on that page. NawlinWiki (talk) 14:07, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I've read through your link. If I were to create a new account, how would I post the new page under a new account? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Groenbros (talkcontribs) 14:15, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • The page is already posted - if you want, I will delete it and you can repost it with the new name (please keep the changes that I made to remove promotional language in the article). NawlinWiki (talk) 14:17, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, please delete it. I've copied the article as it is. Thanks for your assistance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Writer 33 (talkcontribs) 14:28, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Aha, you just prevented a sockpuppet investigation and gave me an explanation why you removed the COI-tag. It would have been a good idea to inform me too about this. Night of the Big Wind talk 15:10, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, should have done that. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:11, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

NawlinWiki, could you tell me why you deleted my second paragraph explaining the function of the aircraft? It was in the original posting after your edits. If there's additional promotional language that can be stricken, I'm happy to do that, but the paragraph is essential to describe the aircraft.Writer 33 (talk) 15:17, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please advise. Writer 33 (talk) 16:11, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The paragraph sounds like it's lifted directly from the company's mission statement. "GBA has invested millions...economical, yet not constrained...high level of performance...GBA aims to bring sustained autorotative flight into the modern age." There are no sources cited for any of these claims. See WP:NPOV and WP:V. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:23, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is not GBA's mission statement. I will attempt to describe the aircraft's function without using qualitative adjectives.Writer 33 (talk) 17:02, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

the deleted AuctionAbility page[edit]

Hi. I've never used a talk page before so bear with me. You seem to have deleted my page about our AuctionAbility software product, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AuctionAbility. I tried hard to only describe what it is, what it does, and a little about how it does it. I tried not to say that it was good in its own right, only that it employs certain technology, and they are considered good. We're currently in operation and I want a Wikipedia page that states that we exist and a little about us.

I tried to make it like the page I saw on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_auction_business_model#Companies_that_use_the_model .. e.g. Apex_auctions or Allegro_(auction_website). I linked to our website for marketing material, there's plenty on there that breaks the Wikipedia content rules which I have kept out of my wiki entry.

It seems you could take those pages down, if you're going to take mine down? What should I change?

Should I just re-create it with less or different content and see if you like that version? Maybe that's easiest on both of us?

Thank you - Nick Fenwick (the guy who wrote the entry you've deleted) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Neekfenwick (talkcontribs) 15:07, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • "AuctionAbility was conceived by Nick Fenwick, Director of Yavin Ltd.". You shouldn't be writing about your own product or company on Wikipedia, see WP:COI. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:09, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, so, if I get someone else to write the same content about our product, does that make it OK? That sounds a bit crazy. My wife, who is completely unrelated to our business or product, could open an account and write precisely the same text. Would that be OK?

As I read the COI page, and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:NOT#When_you_wonder_what_to_do, I really wonder what most of those other wiki entries in the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_auction_business_model#Companies_that_use_the_model page are doing on wikipedia.

Revolvr[edit]

I'm trying to make a wikipedia entry on a musician, I provided links to their releases online, 3 have been top 100 tracks, and I'm not sure why you're deleting the content? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Electrohouse007 (talkcontribs) 19:56, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • As I said on your talk page, you need to provide independent sources, not just links to the artist's or the label's official pages. If the artist has had chart hits (and I didn't see anything like that on a quick Google search), you need to find references to show that. Again, see WP:V. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:58, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The category of music is Electro House, it doesn't chart on national charts, the only place these songs chart is on Beatport. Not knowing that makes you totally unqualified to edit a post about it. Look up any of the artists in the collaborations, they have wikipedia pages, that is ridiculous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Electrohouse007 (talkcontribs) 20:01, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    • Insulting me won't help you. If there are no verifiable sources for this, then no article, sorry. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:03, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User drafts[edit]

NawlinWiki - I have an admin question. If a page is deleted (either via CSD, PROD, or AfD) and the article gets userfied per request or DRV and there is zero progress made on the page in well over a month or more, what action should be taken? Should they be CSD'd per the original rationale, MFD'd as WP:STALEDRAFT, or what?--v/r - TP 16:20, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • The "by the book" answer would be the MFD listing per STALEDRAFT. If it's really old (like a year or more), just delete it under g6 and notify the user. You can always restore it if they complain. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:38, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

HEICO and Hellmann[edit]

Hi! HEICO doesn't say anything about Hellmann. On top of that Hellmann is German, while HEICO's American.

Do you have a source saying that Hellmann is a child company of HEICO?

Even so, sometimes child companies have their own articles anyway

Thanks, WhisperToMe (talk) 18:17, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • One of the two sources cited in the Hellman article was on HEICO, but maybe I shouldn't have jumped to that conclusion. I will check on it. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:19, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand what I'm missing...you keep deleting my article[edit]

I submitted a band article and followed all the rules, yet whenever I go to submit/revise it, it's automatically deleted. Please explain why...

A musician or ensemble (note that this includes a band, singer, rapper, orchestra, DJ, musical theatre group, etc.) may be notable if it meets at least one of the following criteria: Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable and are independent from the musician or ensemble itself.[note 1] This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, magazine articles, online versions of print media, and television documentaries[note 2] except for the following: YES. Newspaper article at http://newssun.suntimes.com/news/7387924-418/independent-recording-label-promotes-young-artists.html.

Any reprints of press releases, other publications where the musician or ensemble talks about themselves, and all advertising that mentions the musician or ensemble, including manufacturers' advertising.[note 3] YES. In a printed publication called What's Happening Magazine in Lake County Illinois. They have no website however.

Works comprising merely trivial coverage, such as articles that simply report performance dates, release information or track listings, or the publications of contact and booking details in directories. YES. Six Flags website shows a UPM artist's performance date (http://www.sixflags.com/greatAmerica/events/LiveandLocal2011.aspx)

Articles in a school or university newspaper (or similar) would generally be considered trivial but should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. NO.

Has had a single or album on any country's national music chart. YES. Singles and Albums ranked locally and nationally on ReverbNation.com (http://www.reverbnation.com/artist/control_room/1680871?tab=store&subnav=store_create)

Has had a record certified gold or higher in at least one country. NO.

Has received non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country.[note 4] YES. Opening acts for several top-rated artists tours. Pictures here show UPM WAS THERE! (http://www.therave.com/concert_picture_gallery.asp?view=pic&id=4441&pic=043&of=126)

Has released two or more albums on a major label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years, and with a roster of performers, many of whom are notable). YES. 6 Albums released on Unlimited Production Music (UPM) itself. We are a notable independent label in Lake County Illinois.

Is an ensemble which contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a member of two or more independently notable ensembles. NO.

Has become one of the most prominent representatives of a notable style or the most prominent of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability. NO. Not unless screaming fans chasing UPM artists through the malls and McDonald's parking lot.

Has won or been nominated for a major music award, such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury, Choice or Grammis award. NO.

Has won or placed in a major music competition. NO.

Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album, etc. (But if this is the only claim, it is probably more appropriate to have a mention in the main article and redirect to that article. Read WP:BLP1E and WP:BIO1E for further clarifications) YES. UPM artists performed on BET 106 & Park (BET keeps deleted our YouTube video but you can check here...http://unlimitedproductionmusic.com/sounds/Ewill BET 106 n Park Performance.flv)

Has been placed in rotation nationally by any major radio network. YES. UPM has 3 singles in rotation at Chicago's WGCI (107.5FM). How do I verify that???

Has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or TV network. NO.

I have moved this from User talk:NawlinWiki/Archive 58, where it was originally posted. (Diff: [1]) —Jeremy v^_^v Components:V S M 17:36, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • This might possibly indicate notability for the *artist* mentioned in the Sun-Times article, but there are no sources about the UPM label itself other than mentioning it in passing. Also, just saying "we are a major label" doesn't make it so. You need sources that show that UPM itself is notable per WP:CORP. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:46, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Also, you should not be writing about your own company per Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:47, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      • You also missed the word "except" prior to the What's Happening magazine and the Six Flags mention and you missed "Nationally" when talking about radio networks.--v/r - TP 18:26, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nick Justice[edit]

Hi! I'm trying to establish a wiki for our commanding general Nick Justice (I work in his public affairs office). I posted a photo and info box using Richard C. Nash as a template. When I returned to work on the page this morning the box, photo and info were deleted. I tried to search out similar major generals on wikipedia and see that most have the photo and info box. Help me out here, why was this one removed? Thanks in advance for the tips. I'm still baffled by wikipedia! Thanks for fixing the capitalization issue. David.mcnally (talk) 14:17, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • It doesn't look like you ever placed an infobox in the Nick Justice article. Go to the Nash article, pretend to edit it, and copy the infobox template that's at the top of the edit screen, then paste it to the Justice article and replace the Nash items with Justice items. Or you could start with a blank one, see Template:Infobox military person. NawlinWiki (talk) 14:27, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi NawlinWiki! I must admit I'm somewhat puzzled by the WP:A7ing of the article. It started of as a bit WP:SOAPBOXy, but I was in the middle of tidying it up, with refs and so on, and then - gone! Though I can't locate the relevant policy at the moment, I was also under the impression that educational institutions -- as long as it can be shown that they WP:EXIST, and it does -- were not A7 candidates. As always, more than happy to have an, ahem, "positive learning experience outcome" (ie: be shown to be completely wrong} about this. Ooh-roo! --Shirt58 (talk) 12:11, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • If an educational institution is a commercial business, as many of these tech schools in South Asia are, it needs to assert notability per WP:CORP just like any other business, and needs to avoid being advertising per WP:SPAM. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:22, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I can't say that I completely agree. From WP:A7: "An article about a real person, individual animal(s), organization (for example, a band, club, or company, not including educational institutions... )" This would appear to be somewhat of a grey area, especially in light of WP:WORLDVIEW, but I do take your point. And it's most certainly not worth hiring a superhero costume and booking a return trip to Berlin about.--Shirt58 (talk) 11:10, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New heading for a new message[edit]

Hello, you have removed my article a few times because it apparently is "promoting." I just want people to know what this company IS. Can you tell me what specifically in the article is promotional? PostcardMania

PostcardMania is a privately-held marketing firm providing direct mail, email, and online marketing services to small to large sized businesses. Located in Clearwater, FL, as of 2011 the organization employs over 190 staff members and generated revenue in excess of $19 million in 2010. The company was founded by entrepreneur Joy Gendusa (Tampa Bay Businesswoman of the Year, 2008) in 1998, and she continues to serve as the company’s Chief Executive Officer.

COMPANY HISTORY Early Days 1998-2000 In 1998, entrepreneur Joy Gendusa (then Joy Rockwell), was trying to get her fledgling marketing business off the ground. She went to a printer to have direct mail postcards printed to advertise, and the experience with the printer shaped the course of her business plans. She encountered so many issues along the way that she decided to change the focus of her marketing business to focus on postcards.

Gendusa enlisted the help of Melissa Bradshaw and Joy Milford to get the project going. They went on to become Executive Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Design, respectively. During the initial years, they continued to operate under the name Joy Rockwell Enterprises, which is still the official name of the corporation behind PostcardMania. The only assets to the company name when it was founded were a phone and a computer.

Rapid Growth 2000-2008 At the turn of the century business began to pick up. By 2005 PostcardMania was named to the Inc. 500 list of the fastest growing privately held companies in the United States. In 2000, the company had 24 staff members, but by 2007 they had increased the number of paid staff to 165.

In 2006, PostcardMania achieved revenues of $16.5 million. They reached another year of growth in 2007 with revenues of $18.5 million, and that would remain the best year for the company until 2010.

Expansion & Recession 2009-Present In 2009 the company moved its headquarters from downtown Clearwater to a brand new three story facility built behind its manufacturing plant. Plans for the move began in 2007 while revenues for PostcardMania were continually rising, but completion of the building didn’t happen until 2009.

While 2007 was the best year the company had seen, it took a significant hit in 2008 and 2009, when their best clients, mortgage brokers, were rocked by the collapse of the housing bubble. With revenues dipping, the company continued to mail postcards advertising their service and kept their marketing budget intact. In 2010 PostcardMania once again reached, and slightly exceeded, 2007’s revenue numbers.

BUSINESS MODEL PostcardMania’s business model was one of the first to claim to be “full-service” in the postcard marketing industry. They provide clients with everything needed to perform a postcard marketing campaign, including marketing advice, graphic design, copywriting, printing, mailing services, and delivery.

WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESS PostcardMania’s Founder and CEO, Joy Gendusa, is a woman entrepreneur who started the company while a mother of two boys. In addition, PostcardMania’s President, Jennifer Custer, and six of its twelve Vice Presidents are women.

In 2008, PostcardMania became WBENC (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council) certified, which lets them benefit from WBENC’s corporate members, who agree to do business with WBE’s (Woman Business Enterprises).

In October of 2010, PostcardMania partnered with Rebecca Minkoff, Women Power-up, and Kim Kardashian’s Shoedazzle.com to promote a contest that awarded the winning Woman Business Owner with free marketing and fashion accessories. The contest was won by Tabetha Franklin, owner of Main Dish Studio Kitchen in Beaumont, TX.

Just a friendly note regarding this edit, per WP:TALK, the user is allowed to remove warnings from his/her talk page (learned from experience). In this case, it's largely irrelevant as the user has been blocked, but if someone wants to get picky, they can nail you on that. Calabe1992 (talk) 18:49, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on "Richard J. Grant" requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —KuyaBriBriTalk 17:11, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request from zeeshan.quader[edit]

Respected Sir, I see you have deleted my page Suzlon Foundation. Sir, this is a project of mine in development, it will take a week to complete. It may seem to be advertising now until i have changed the language to make it seem my own. i assure you it will be a complete finished product in a week so i request you to not delete my research and work.

The reason you said for removing my article is because 'Article about a web site, blog, web forum, webcomic, podcast, browser game, or similar web content, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject'. Apartmentlist[edit]

Hi, my students in Online Communities at Cornell University are working to improve Wikipedia as part of a class project. Two students, Msackler and Nlw34, suggested to write a page for apartmentlist, describing what this website is, what people do there, how people interact, etc. I noticed that you deleted the page they created. This is not an advertisement. Please give them a chance. Thanks. LeshedInstructor (talk) 13:18, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Even for a class project, they would have to follow our policies, which require: (1) that the article be written in neutral and nonpromotional language (no "helping apartment hunters find the perfect home", as was in the article), see WP:NPOV and WP:SPAM; (2) that the article cite reliable independent sources (see WP:V) that show how the website is notable per our standards at WP:WEB. Hi Nawlin,

This page was recently moved per a RM discussion. I just noticed that you move protected due to some move vandalism in 2008. That's long passed and I wonder if you would be willing to unprotect it now?

No great reasons, just the philosophical preference for protections being removed if/when the need passes.

Hey NawlinWiki, see the recent history: Garevenge created Garevenge2. I asked them why, but the response was another act of vandalism on the MIT article. I've blocked them both as vandalism-only account, but I invite your scrutiny. Thanks! Drmies (talk) 18:07, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well, given that the article was then vandalized by 2 IPs from Georgia Institute of Technology, and that all the edits involved removing all the Ts from "Massachusetts Institute of Technology", the names of the two accounts start to make sense. Good to know that there are admins who IAR every now and then. →Στc. 03:49, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I, on the other hand, find it very unfortunate indeed. I assume you saw it independently and did not intend to reverse my decision? Since declining a speedy is not an admin decision, because any editor can do it, I do not consider that my reverting you would be wheel warring, but this is clearly a conflict between admin views, and I do not want to quibble about the definition. The article does not meet the a1 criterion under which you deleted it; it's clear what it's about, and MADEUP is not a speedy criterion unless it amounts to a hoax, or to vandalism. I'm not sure how to proceed--I've never before had such a conflict, but I think this is a question of principle . However, the article is of course totally unworthy of being used to take a stand on anything. DGG ( talk ) 05:33, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
DGG, you are correct, I did not realize you had declined the speedy, and I apologize. NawlinWiki (talk) 11:05, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Biblical inerrancy[edit]

Thank you for spotting and reverting the problems we are suddenly having with Grafted on this article. I doubt if we have heard the last of this editor on this page. He/she simply removed the whole section on virgin birth before I or some other editor reverted back. I don't understand how he/she has a user name without a user page. There is an editor called Graftedln73 who has the correct bio - but I can't see if it is the same editor. Myrvin (talk) 14:12, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Monsoon Group of Las Vegas[edit]

NawlinWiki as you know, you recently speedy deleted the article Monsoon Group of Las Vegas. I have see all the contributions and valid policing you have done and your works and respect you expertise. I had been trying to perfect and get a bio and this article to stay on the community before working on others. In the past with the Monsoon Group of Las Vegas article, other community members said it was self serving and self promotional and it was edited to tone-out the verbage and tone, and it was accepted as I wanted all information to be relevant and accurate for that article.I am asking you to please reconsider and reverse the deletion and allow me re-edit this article and to cite more 3rd party sources and links and have you review it then. ANY HELP and assistance is greatly appreciated. Wiki BioInfo (talk) 19:09, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Complaint[edit]

You have to be kidding me.Could you explain me why you removed the category ConvertSpecs in Eyewear 23rd of September that I posted ? I don't have any intention to do any kind of advertising, just letting people know about this kind of glasses. I corrected what other person told me that was not correct ( category) and you deleted that once again? See answer bellow:

Below is the content you included in the above category that was deleted. As I said in my comment on my page, if you want to include this information in Wikipedia, you should write an article about it at ConvertSpecs, not create a category with that name. The article you write could then be added to the category Category:Eyewear by placing Category:Eyewear at the bottom of the article. Your text follows, which you could copy into ConvertSpecs: Good Ol’factory (talk) 03:11, 27 September 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Utillia (talkcontribs) 23:32, 28 September 2011 (UTC) [reply]

  • And this user did create a ConvertSpecs article - which I deleted as advertising. You need to find reliable independent sources (see WP:V) that discuss this product and explain why it's notable. It's not enough for you to say that the product is new and unique. Also, the article needs to be written in neutral language, see WP:NPOV and WP:SPAM. Scott Mavor bio[edit]

Sorry to see my (first more detailed) entry deleted, but I understand I had to read the guidelines better. I am not sure if the short bio I tried to upload is "noteworthy." It wasn't intended as an "in memoriam", though he died a few years ago. His mother, Elinor Mavor has a bio on wiki as well, and he worked on the same magazines as illustrator (Amazing Stories and Fantastic, see ISFd), and besides he worked on a classic game, the Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes (considered by Adventure Gamers as one of the top twenty classic games), for which he did almost all the graphics (only assisted by E. Mavor). I thought that too would be interesting to know for adventure gamers, besides for the fans of both magazines. I had the bio info checked by E. Mavor and thought it deserved an entry at Wiki (perhaps mistakenly). Or can I still make it right?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Gamnos (talkcontribs) 15:58, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • You would have to find some reliable sources (see WP:V) that establish Scott Mavor's notability per WP:BIO. NawlinWiki (talk) 02:17, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted page: Mawashi Protective Clothing[edit]

Good day,

I hereby contest your deletion of the page Mawashi Protective Clothing. The description of the activities and products offered by this company is useful to the public domain, since this company protects individuals working in dangerous ou harzadous environments.

This page was never created for advertising or promotion. Please restore this page and if enhance its content if you think that it can be improved.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shareitnow (talkcontribs) 17:10, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's not enough for you to say that it's "useful to the public" to know about the products - in fact, that indicates that the page is in fact advertising. Can you explain how this company is notable per our guidelines at WP:CORP, and whether that can be shown by reliable independent sources per our guidelines at WP:V?
