Welcome![edit]

Hello, NShair1216, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. Comments on Articles.[edit]

  1. Garry's Mod
  • This one seems ok, although I wouldn't recommend doing it unless you know about the game. It looks like this one might require a bit of knowledge in that direction.
  1. The Sims (video game)
  • This one was done by a student several years ago, with some great improvements. There might still be more to be done, of course, but let's let it continue to develop.
  1. Pig Latin
  • This one probably needs some work, but you'd have to think about what. If you had ideas and want to do it, let's talk it over.
  1. Lumbersexual
  • Are you going to work on the "Lumberjack" one? If so, I think this is good. There's a lot of good content here but things to be worked on.
  1. Space Age
  • This one is actually a good candidate -- it was the subject of two previous course assignments but I'm not sure if they've done as much careful thinking about what should go in here and how it should be shaped up.

These last two are great. I'm adding them to the list. If you feel strongly about the others, let me know. Etherfire (talk) 01:24, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I know a bit about Garry's Mod as I've played on it before. NShair1216 (talk) 16:27, 17 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Iced coffee[edit]

Hi - I saw that you edited this article. I can see where you're coming from with the changes you made, but the "by country" portion should remain because it makes it that much easier to find the information for the given country and everything is more or less streamlined. Each section is still pretty country specific even with the retitling, so my recommendation would be this:

Leave the "by country" section and then add a new section where there's a more specific and direct "by type" section. The article also needs to be edited for tone, as some of the content has some fairly non-neutral, original statements that you can work on fixing. These would be statements like "iced coffee is quickly gaining popularity among the general consumer audience as evidenced by the fact that it is available in mass food franchises and sold bottled in grocery stores." The issue here is that this could be seen as original research since it's unsourced and it's not attributed to anyone. It's also potentially non-neutral since it could be seen as a personal judgement. There are a lot of statements like this in the article (these weren't by you, just things others wrote) and a lack of sourcing is a huge issue in the overall article. Working on those would be a big improvement to the article. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 13:30, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
