Image copyright problem with Image:Logan1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Logan1.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 10:59, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blocking[edit]

My IP address is (censored, hackers!). If that could be unblocked, that would be greatly appreciated. Apparently, someone has used this IP address under an inappropriate user name, and as such, the IP address has also been blocked indefinitely. This is incredibly annoying. If an administrator could resolve this problem, then that would be great. Thanks. Mr. Lefty 22:05, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find you in the block logs at all. Mike (T C) 06:07, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have blocked you for one second, to see if that causes you to be unblocked. Please test it. Sam Korn (smoddy) 16:05, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sam, he wanted his IP unblocked, not his username. His IP was blocked on March 15 for 31 hours for vandalism [1]. It has been more than 31 hours now so it should now work! --M@thwiz2020 16:29, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I realise. I just can't read dates. Sam Korn (smoddy) 18:35, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, folks, everything's alright now. I think I didn't make it very clear: someone with an inappropriate user name (Mr. Feces, I think it was) was using this IP and got blocked, and I wanted it to be unblocked, since I am obviously not Mr. Feces. Sorry for not clearing that up. But, I'm unblocked now, so it's okay. Mr. Lefty 18:39, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Already using MrLefty[edit]

Um, I've been using MrLefty here for a year or so, and on my blog [2]. Actually, I screwed up the login and am on as both MrLefty and Mrlefty (I don't know how to recombine the two), but it's going to be even more confusing if there's also a Mr. space Lefty. License tagging for Image:Dirtychild.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dirtychild.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:04, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

May the Force be with you.[edit]

Dear Mr. Lefty/Archive1,

Thanks for voting on my RFA! I appreciate your faith in me, and was overwhelmed by the positive response to my RFA; for it shows that at least I'm doing something right. :) I've started working to improve myself already, and I hope that next time, things run better, and maybe, just maybe, one day we can bask on the shores of Admintopia together. Thanks and cheers, _-M o P-_ 21:56, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Signatures[edit]

I see you've been experimenting with signatures. If you want to use custom signatures (like mine), you should check the "Raw signature" box to make your tags work.G.He 02:36, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #3[edit]

The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
The Stressbusters are a subset of Esperanza aiming to investigate the causes of stress. New eyes on the situation are always welcome!
Note from the editor
As always, MiszaBot handled this delivery. Thank you! Also, congratulations go to Pschemp, Titoxd and Freakofnurture for being elected in the last elections! An Esperanzial May to all of the readership!
  1. Posting logs of the Esperanza IRC channel are explicitly banned anywhere. Violation of this rule results in deletion and a ban from the channel.
  2. A disclaimer is going to be added to the Esperanza main page. We are humans and, as such, are imperfect.
  3. Various revisions have been made to the Code of Conduct. Please see them, as the proposal is ready to be ratified by the community and enacted. All members will members to have to re-confirm their membership after accepting the Code of Conduct.
  4. Referendums are to be held on whether terms of AC members should be lengthened and whether we should abolish votes full stop.
  5. Admin Coaching reform is agreed upon.

Welcome to VandalProof![edit]

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Mr. Lefty! You have now been added to the list of authorized users, so if you haven't already, simply download and install VandalProof from our main page. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any other moderator, or you can post a message on the discussion page. AmiDaniel (talk) 01:12, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I saw that you recently reverted an inappropriate edit on the above article. Doug Copp himself is now on Wiki and I expect there will be a lot of disputable edits by him on his bio as well as on his Triangle of Life soon. Please do keep a watchful eye on these two articles! --rxnd ( t | | c ) 19:02, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

May 2006[edit]

Hello, I received a message from you recently regarding an edit I made to the Lacus Clyne Page. I did not Remove anything, I merely re-arranged the posititions of the pictures to make them flow better with the text. If you think it looks fine the way it originally was, I can appreciate and understand that, however please don't accuse me of purging content when I did no such thing. --71.12.221.109 22:20, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New Message[edit]

I am receiving new messages saying that I vandalize pages. But I never did any of that. Next, I don't know Eddy Guerero and they say I changed that page. What is going on? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.94.85.71 (talkcontribs) .

Question[edit]

I noticed that edit you made on my userpage. I don't mind that you "vandalized" it but the picture is a little too much (I'm only 13.) Do you mind if I remove it? Sorry for any inconveniences and other things like that. --Evan Robidoux 02:06, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, but if you remove it though, then don't get rid of the "Muhahaha" part. I don't mind that. --Evan Robidoux 02:09, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I know[edit]

It says that many people use the same ip account. That means someone has mine, too. They can edit something and I can be affected, too, right? If that's the case, as written in the italic at the bottom of my every message, you can't just accuse me of doing something I didn't do.

To those reading this so you don't get the wrong idea: I made a joke page saying that the person who clicked on it had been permanently blocked and I signed it by Jimbo Wales. I realize this was probably a dumb thing to do, and I apologize for any trouble, but just understand that it was all in good fun. Mr. Lefty Talk to me! 15:55, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Just don't make a habit of it. :) User:Zoe|(talk) 20:27, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi lefty. Yes! I was using wikipedia to research porn. I'm interested to know if there have been any non-commerical online communities that compile porn. Call me a "dirty child" if you must, but wikipedia wasn't helpful in finding the information. --William sharkey 01:06, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My name[edit]

Hello Mr. Lefty. I already replied to your message on my discussion page, but then realized it would make a lot more sense to add my reply on your discussion page, because then you'd notice it faster (silly me). So here it is again: No, I chose it on purpose. A bit childish, I know, but I don't see a major problem with it. If Wikipedia blocks it they're far more childish. I'm sorry[edit]

I'm so sorry Mr. Lefty. I'm new on the editing/adding things to wikipedia. I tried to cleared some facts that I thought were wrong. I promise I'll be more careful. I won't delete anythign again. I'll just keep on adding facts to pages like I used to. Please don't block me. --Bella.roza

VandalProof 1.2 Now Available[edit]

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:57, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

I'm the one who left you an apology about vandalism and not blocking me.

I deleted some (lots) of info on the Opus Dei page. Again I'm so sorry about. I hope I won't need to change/delete anything. If I ever feel the need. I'll be sure to use the Talk Page. BTW can you send me the link to that page. This system is really confusing to me.

Thanks for taking your time to answer me !

Mail Order Bride[edit]

Hello Mr. Lefty;

I have asked wikipedia for arbitration for this issue. Everything I have put in the article has been repeatedly deleted and the entire article has become an artcle about abuse rather than about mail order brides. The other "editor" keeps pushing the abuse and "gay mail order brides" agendas. I would ask that you review what I have written and what they have written with a fair mind and tell me who is pushing a POV. I have repeatedlt tried to include everyone's ideas, but mine keep getting deleted no matter how relevent and fact based they are. For example, lok at the whole demographics issue. How is that irrelevent when the so-called gay mail order brides is. Come on here. This is supposed to be an article about mail order brides, not gay mail order brides or abuse of mail order brides. Please help me out here. Thanks. Michaellovesnyc 01:40, 1 June 2006 (UTC) michaellovesnyc[reply]

You previously commented about User:Michaellovesnyc's edits to Mail-order bride, in the mediation cabal as well as on his talk page. Thanks for the help. I've now begun drafting a user RfC against him; it's here. To make it into a stronger case when it is submitted to mediation, please help edit it and add evidence about the problem and how you've helped try to solve it. There has been little discussion between the editors involved in this dispute, so it's difficult for any one person to do it alone. I'd really appreciate your help--I hope one day we can get this article up to a much higher standard. --Grace 02:26, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mail Order Bride[edit]

Michaellovesnyc 02:46, 8 June 2006 (UTC) michaellovesnyc Hey Mr. Lefty; why do you feel that my version is "awfully complex and text-heavy". My opponent goes to great lengths with several pages to exaggerate and shamelessly distort the deaths of 3 women who have nothing to do with the general topic of mail order brides. I have proposed that you review my version and my opponents and tell me where you think I am being complex and text heavy and my opponent is not. Which version do you HONESTLY think is more neutral? I think I have been very rational (more than my opponent). I would be happy to listen to what you have to say. My email is michaellovesnyc@aol.com Thank you[reply]
