Hi, i'd rather not post this on the related talk page because it wouldn't be appropriate to move the discussion away from the point, but in further comment's could you please discuss the wording of the sentence in question, i really couldn't give two hoots about the political views and childish claims of the FSF, they make no difference to the point. They could say BIOS is a rabid dog, but i wouldn't change the article to back up such claims. -- Jimmi Hugh (talk) 02:43, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

If the FSF would support the development of a replacement for standard BIOS because the FSF thinks they are rabid dogs, Wikipedia should say so. Wikipedia doesn't judge what it describes. Wikipedia has articles on ass to mouth and LSD and it never says "don't do it." Please read the famous WP:NPOV and WP:NOT policies.
There seems to be one exception of the rule which is related to the FSF: Wikipedia names GNU/Linux Linux. But still it says that some call it GNU/Linux. This way it does not violate the policy. --mms (talk) 08:14, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
My point precisely, "LinuxBIOS is a replacement for standard BIOS' which the FSF wrongly believes are all proprietary" would be ok. All i am saying is we can't state it as fact, i won't write "...replacement for the rabid dog BIOS" because it isn't true, i didn't mean to say you couldn't state they think it is proprietary, just that what the article said was wrong. -- Jimmi Hugh (talk) 16:36, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Racism in drug laws

Hi. You might want to take a look at Human Rights Watch's 2000 report on Racial Disparities in the War on Drugs. More recently, they offered testimony to the US Congress on the crack/powder cocaine sentencing disparity.

The Sentencing Project has also written a paper about the crack/powder cocaine issue.

Good luck. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 02:23, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Bicyclist template

Hi Mms, I have seen you have changed the icon for bicyclists. Actually I liked more the previous, as in the new one you can see the bicycle, but not the bicyclist... And I'm not a bicycle, I'm a bicyclist! Do you know if there is any better quality, svg version of the former? Eynar Oxartum (talk) 15:55, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

You are right. The image should show a cyclist. I searched for a SVG and found . But I chose as it is less iconic. I like it more than . If you want to revert, do so. I don't even use this userbox.
I'm member of de:Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club. As you have a basic understanding of German you will recognize this means literally it's a bicycle club. But in fact no bicycle is a member—only humans (mostly bicyclists) and legal persons. The logo consists of a wheel and text. Our corporate design goes even further and sometimes only shows a detail of the wheel. Regards --mms (talk) 23:15, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia Review

I liked your box (see my user page). Is there an equivalent category, or would that just be too subversive? Peter Damian (talk) 17:52, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

There is no category for Wikipediareviewers, yet. --mms (talk) 11:42, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Jetzt siehst Du mal, was das bedeutet.
--Leon (talk) 23:15, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
As Leon has already told, he avoids using of the picture that shows him because of his personality rights, that has nothing to do with copyright licenses. So I removed this picture from the user page of mms. regards -- 87.165.131.149 (talk) 23:31, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

You have been kindly asked to remove this image. Your defense of licensing issues does not absolve you from Wikipedia's policy of no personal attacks. As a final resort, editors may be blocked for personal attacks of other editors. Rather than make your point through personal attacks, please make them through discourse and proper debate. Kingturtle (talk) 15:29, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

I've never made a personal attack in my life! Learn some German, bureaucrat. I refused the kind request by a pseudonymous user. So what? Use force or leave me alone! --mms (talk) 17:27, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
The user has requested you take the image down. Please take the image down. Kingturtle (talk) 17:35, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Fist: Please indent your postings. Second: No. --mms (talk) 17:41, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Copied from WP:AN: Why I've removed the image

This may possibly be the first time I remove something from a userpage. But Mms has been sufficiently requested to remove it himself, and has made his reasons for keeping it there quite clear: to bait and badger User:Leon. (Yes, I can read German at a pinch.) I've removed the image from the page. My action has nothing to do with copyright, everything to do with disruption and WP:BATTLEGROUND. In passing, Mms, please note that this is the English Wikipedia, and post in English if possible. Your "Learn some German, bureaucrat" is an improper response to Kingturtle's repeated requests that you remove the picture. Please treat other users with respect. Don't edit war to put the image back. Bishonen | talk 18:25, 24 November 2008 (UTC).
