Sources?

Just looked up the station names of the ones you redirected within the last half hour, and I couldn't find anything about them being renamed, much less having their URL redirected. Could you provide sources for each station name change? Booyahhayoob (talk) 19:04, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

Source is the FCC - here's the link for WNTI changing to WXPJ, and here's the link for KSMX changing to KSMA. As for the URL in the WXPJ article, if you go to the old link, you'll see that it indicates that the address has changed. Similarly, if you go to the new link, you'll see it explains the change of call sign. Mlaffs (talk) 19:17, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

2016 Wikimedia Foundation Executive Director Search Community Survey

The Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation has appointed a committee to lead the search for the foundation’s next Executive Director. One of our first tasks is to write the job description of the executive director position, and we are asking for input from the Wikimedia community. Please take a few minutes and complete this survey to help us better understand community and staff expectations for the Wikimedia Foundation Executive Director.

Thank you, The Wikimedia Foundation Executive Director Search Steering Committee via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:48, 1 June 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the update of the WTRM page. I was actually holding off on that one because, while they were licensed to broadcast on 91.1, they were still broadcasting on 91.3 until sometime this afternoon. As of this morning about 10a, they were still on 91.3.

I still can't figure this one out, though. AFA downgraded WTRM considerably to just 75 watts, which comes in static-y about 15 miles from their tower site) and moved it to 91.1. At the same time, they upgraded WARN (out of nearby Culpeper) in power, moved it to 91.3 (from 91.5), but that station's coverage doesn't overlap with the lost coverage of WTRM. One of the strangest moves in local radio history. But I guess I should expect no less from a company that once went up against the late, great George Carlin. :) - NeutralhomerTalk • 03:58 on June 27, 2016 (UTC)

Category Question

I was thinking about creating a category for US radio stations (one for TV stations too) for stations with a 3 letter callsign, like KYW. I was thinking something like Category:American radio stations with a three-letter callsign. Since it is kinda rare, I think a category should be created. I could do one for Canadian stations (TV and radio) too. It would be the same, just substitute "American" with "Canadian". :) What do you think? - NeutralhomerTalk • 21:06 on July 22, 2016 (UTC)

It's an interesting idea. There is a list already for U.S. stations like that, although there's nothing to stop both a list and a category from coexisting. Would you include all stations with a three-letter base (like KYW-TV), or just a strict three letters total? Mlaffs (talk) 22:15, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
Heyas, I noticed after I posted that you hadn't been on Wiki since the 10th. Hope all is well with you.
Anywho, I didn't know we had a list for three letter callsign station...neat! In the category I would include everything with a three letter call, regardless of the end (like -TV or -FM). Since KYW, for example, does cover AM and TV, and WBZ spans all three (AM, FM, and TV), same with WJZ, they should all be included. The only thing I would leave out is past callsigns. Now if there is a page about a defunct station with a three letter call, then that could be added since it is about the station when it had a three letter callsign. A page like, KRZZ, which is about the current station and the former KYA-FM wouldn't be included since it is no longer a three letter callsigned station. - NeutralhomerTalk • 04:30 on July 23, 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, I had a little hernia surgery last week, so I was in hospital from Thursday to Monday, and then I haven't been able to sit for any period of time since I got home. Didn't seem like a lot of point in trying to dive into Wiki work.
Well, I'd say give it a try. What have you got to lose, right? Mlaffs (talk) 13:13, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
Major, major OUCH!!! Hope you are feeling much better now. I will create the category and see how things go. If the US one is accepted, I'll create the Canadian one. :) Feel better! - NeutralhomerTalk • 23:19 on July 23, 2016 (UTC)
Give a look-see to Category:American radio stations with a three-letter call sign and Category:American television stations with a three-letter call sign and let me know what you think. - NeutralhomerTalk • 00:41 on July 24, 2016 (UTC)
