You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. —DoRD (talk) 11:53, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Re:Talk:Iranian Georgians

Hi,

I made a series of changes to a long and for most part irrelevant discussion. All these changes came about as a parts of one action of deleting discussion parts on the same page. I was not aware that Wikipedia is sensitive about preservation of discussions, and there was no deliberation for vandalism. Now, I understand your policies and I will refrain from making similar changes in future. Also, you have reverted the page to its initial condition as you desired, thus no harm done. Please, do not take any punitive or restrictive actions, as there has been no deliberation of vandalism and the changes were all at the same time on the same page, and I stopped making changes as soon as I received your warning.

Thanks, Wikipedia user ben —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.127.246.72 (talk) 23:15, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello and welcome! Just so you know, Wikipedia has a policy of a 4-Warning-System. You were only on your 2nd warning, and you explained you didn't know about preservation of discussion (except for vandalism, of course) so no worries. :-) (My one suggestion would be to always include a reason for editing a page in the edit summary box.) If you would like to learn more about editing, please see:
Thanks and good luck! --Mithrandir (Talk!) (Opus Operis) 23:29, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

William Lane Craig

Why did you change my edit on William Lane Craig? The other people obviously have biased and untrue stuff to say about Craig. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ChaseMcAllister247 (talkcontribs) 02:04, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

Your edit contained mostly original research and removal of a large amount of content that was referenced, unlike your edit. Please read this and this for more information. Thank you! --Mithrandir (Talk!) (Opus Operis) 02:11, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

Re:The Cursed Videotape

my cursed videotape article is nothing like the rings(short film) article therefore it is not a duplicate and should not be deleted. so please do not delete it! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rickraptor707 (talkcontribs) 02:49, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

First off, I'm not an admin, so I can't delete it. I simply nominated it. Second, the Cursed Videotape is, as you wrote there, "a plot element in the ring series". As I linked in the Speedy Deletion notice, the article Rings already has content about the tape, enough to adequately explain what it is. I understand that you may feel partial to your first article (we all are), but one of the main rules of Wikipedia is ownership of articles is not allowed. I recommend you read:

AN/I notice

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. (specifically regarding IP 92.82.0.102) elektrikSHOOS 01:06, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Mithrandir's Note: The discussion is archived here.

Why am I not allowed to removed my (defamed) posts!?!

Why am I not allowed to remove my OWN comments? Someone has defamed me by adding the word "penises" and "my penis" to my posts. I did not post that originally! You have just restored defamed posts. I want ALL of my defamed posts removed! Carl McCall (talk) 05:50, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

I have no idea what your talking about. Could you provide a link to that edit?--Mithrandir (Talk!) (Opus Operis) 05:54, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Yes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Legal_status_of_Salvia_divinorum#Salvia_Arguments_Overlooked_in_Main_Article the word penis is added twice in my comments i did not post that. i want to remove my defamed posts here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Legal_status_of_Salvia_divinorum#Salvia_Arguments_Overlooked_in_Main_Article

it says article blanking prohibited. i am locked from even editing the added word penis out of my comments. i want my comments removed so whoever is adding penis to that page doesn't do it again/more. do you understand? i am blocked from editing my comments. WHY?

I have no idea, but I see you fixed it. --Mithrandir (Talk!) (Opus Operis) 07:17, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

hello

me from korea and no make bad edit. you mispell testicle. i ficks. 69.153.133.35 (talk) 06:06, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

The edit in question:
Science' (from Latin: scientia, meaning "knowledge") is a systematic enterprise of gathering knowledge about the world and organizing and condensing that knowledge into testicle laws and theories.
I changed "testicle" to "testable" because that's the context being used. :) --Mithrandir (Talk!) (Opus Operis) 06:10, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

RE: Warnings at Waverly Academy

The content that has been added recently is trash. This is not the first time I have reverted it. Edit: Same with Trail of the Twister. User:Jaywikiwiki

Hello! Please don't remove a large amount of content like you did without an edit summary. But anyway, the content you removed was not "trash". If you wish to change an entire article, please discuss it on the article's talk page. Thanks! --Mithrandir (Talk!) (Opus Operis) 04:09, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
It is trash. Things like "He's very friendly and enjoys working in theater", "Nancy has to keep her wits about her", "He's always found in the barn", and "There is an easy way to earn lots of Pa Pennies from the Land Rush game" are advertisement like/pointless trivia, and belong on a Video Game wiki. Jaywikiwiki (talk) 04:32, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
Ah yes, I see now that the summary on both were probably way to over-detailed, per WP:PLOT. Next time though, please include a edit summary so that other editors can see what you did at a glance. (All I saw was a large amount of content removed that, at first, looked okay.) Sorry and thanks again! --Mithrandir (Talk!) (Opus Operis) 04:46, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. Are there any sorta tags I should put in the edit summary, or should I just explain why I removed the content?
And one more thing, am I doing this correctly by posting on both of our talk pages, or should I do it differently? Jaywikiwiki (talk) 18:01, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
No, you just have to explain what you did (one or two sentences is usually enough.) Some people link to other Wikipedia pages in their summaries, but that's only optional. (BTW, you don't need to put a summary on your talk page or user page.) And yes, you're fine posting on both of our talk pages. It's a matter of preference, and no one will object. :) If you're interested in reverting vandalism, I suggest you look into Twinkle, a JavaScript tool that helps considerably in fighting vandals. Good luck!--Mithrandir (Talk!) (Opus Operis) 02:30, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Alright, thank you. Jaywikiwiki (talk) 03:16, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Robert George's "article"

The George is nothing but an ego trip and Wikipedia is being used to promote his ego trip. At this rate I could have a biography on Wikipedia.

If this is the "quality" at Wikipedia then no wonder everyone I talk to says Wikipedia is not Encyclopedia Britannica. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.218.206.11 (talk) 05:04, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Please don't blank articles, nor put personal opinions in them. If you think an article is biased, please help us fix it by including reliable sources in it. Or, post on the article's talk page your wishes. Thanks! --Mithrandir (Talk!) (Opus Operis) 05:13, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Re: Your revert on Desktop Scientific

Howdy MithrandirAgain. I used to be guilty of the same mistake you made, of reverting a content creator's blanking of their own page, so a word to the wise... when a content creator blanks their page, all you have to do is slap a speedy delete tag (G7 - blanked or requested by creator) on it. It's right there on Huggle as a choice on the "Tag this page for deletion" tab, as you may well know. Saves a lotta time for all involved. It does mean you have to check the edit history... a pain, but better than a mess up. Cordial best wishes, Jusdafax 08:54, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Wow, I didn't even remember which edit you were talking about 'till I did a bit of sleuthing (Not a good sign!). ;) I'd not known that KyleAraujo had been the original author when I reverted his blanking, and by the time I saw the deletion notification, I'd utterly forgotten I had warned him earlier. Anyway, thanks a ton for the headsup! :)--Mithrandir (Talk!) (Opus Operis) 09:02, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Happy to help! Jusdafax 09:07, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) (edit conflict) You'll note from the red-link above that the article has now been deleted (by your's truly...) I closed the AfD as well: AfD closing isn't my strong suit, and I used a script to do it (I don't trust scripts...) so if you notice any problems with the close please let me know. TFOWR 09:09, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Many thanks, TFOWR. Case closed! 8D Jusdafax 09:10, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi. When reverting removal of a speedy tag, it is worth looking at the history. In this case, you correctly tagged the article as a copyvio, and the author removed the copyright text and reduced the it to a stub, which needs referencing but is no longer speediable. He removed the speedy tag at the same time, which he shouldn't have; but the effect of your reversion was to restore the copyright text. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 11:32, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up! I noticed though that the text on that page now, is also used on the same site as before (i.e. copyright-violation.) --Mithrandir (Talk!) (Opus Operis) 03:30, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Editing war

You know how we talked about these pages a few days ago? Warnings at Waverly Academy and Trail of the Twister. Well anyway, I've gotten into an editing war on the first one. What should I do? Thanks. Jaywikiwiki (talk) 20:41, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi again! I would suggest asking the editor Wyn9 why they reverted your edit. I also suggest reading WP:PLOTSUM, as it's a great guide with plot summaries (and may help end this dispute.) Good luck! --Mithrandir (Talk!) (Opus Operis) 03:40, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Trading Card Game

Hi! We've devised a new scheme for developing the ruleset for the game, and we'd appreciate it if you'd help us select the best base model for our game, after which we'll nominate and discuss more specific individual rules. If you're no longer interested, remove the userbox from your page and disregard the invitation. Thanks! Bob the Wikipedian (talkcontribs) 23:42, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
