I just wanted to share, I've recently spent a lot of time working on articles about Portland restaurants, even promoting 20+ to Good article status in the last couple months. I'm not much of a "foodie" but your work on restaurant articles inspired me to document Portland's dining scene, especially given the pandemic's impact on the food and restaurant industries. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration. I'd love to see many more Wikipedia articles about notable restaurants for various cities. AfD relistings

Hi, I notice that you have a tendency to relist AfDs with few but unanimous "delete" opinions, such as Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Yogi Bizerk and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Unicorn Gallery. What's your thinking behind this? In my view, an unanimous discussion after 7 days should be closed, no ifs or buts - we cannot expect all AfDs to attract more than a handful of opinions. I think those were pretty obvious deletes. Sometimes I actually take the time to look at the article, the sources, and the comments being made - I really doubt Unicorn Gallery and Yogi Bizerk were going to be kept. If this is a problem, then I'll never do an early close again except snows (which at this point I often consider five or more keeps or deletes - again, after reviewing the article and sourcing). Sorry, perhaps I was unclear: because they were in fact obvious deletes, my suggestion was to close such AfDs as "delete" after their seven days expired, instead of relisting them as you did. Sandstein 17:47, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
Also, I noticed that you sometimes relist AfDs thrice without any particular explanation, such as Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/G.W. Graham Middle-Secondary School or Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/HOSxP (where somebody highlighted this). This is somewhat problematic, in my view, because WP:RELIST instructs, "in general, debates should not be relisted more than twice. Users relisting a debate for a third (or further) time, or relisting a debate with a substantial number of commenters, should write a short explanation (...)." Do you have any thoughts on this matter? Sandstein 13:11, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
I have always been under an impression that I can relist content three times - to anticipate more participation or better discussion. I didn't know there was a policy around making a comment, tells you the last time I sat and read that page. Fine. I have seen other editors do it too, relisting three times without comment. I don't keep rhyme and reason around my AfDs. I'm doing a service few people do on Wikipedia, I do it my own way. If it's burdening other people- and I don't think it is at all - or causing some major problem (and I see no evidence of that) - then you and others can review and deal with AfDs and I'll stop. (The funny thing is that here and on Commons, editors demand deletion reviews, demand me to snow delete or keep content, request this and that, and then complain about how I chose to oversee the implementation of AfDs and say I'm too leniant but requesting OTRS, for example, which is like relisting. It's thankless work - no one thanks us for this type of work. That's not why I do it, but, the criticism of the way I do my work, is exhausting, and so far I have yet to see how the way I do things is impacting the project in a traumatic or legal way.) Now that I think about, I even think I'm the only woman who closes AfDs. But, who knows. It's even worse on Commons, only two or three editors close them and I burnt myself out doing it. I'm literally the only woman left on Commons, it feels, sometimes. LOL. Perhaps it's just not worth it. I thought I was doing a service, but, waking up every day to someone questioning my work, asking me to explain things I don't think need explaining, or not being able to comprehend why their article was deleted isn't worth the anxiety I get when I see the red bell when I refresh. Missvain, please do not take my criticism personally, but I think that as administrators we should both be receptive to colleagues pointing out cases where our administrative practice is out of sync with community consensus as set out in policies or guidelines. I am not at all asking you to stop reviewing AfDs, but I would appreciate it if you would consider adapting your AfD relisting practice to WP:RELIST. Sandstein 17:50, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
Sandstein might not be asking you to stop but I will. I don't think we'd had any interaction with each other before this week and if we had, I don't remember it. So my impression has been formed by having this user talk on my watchlist since coming across your astounding number of closes on 12/29. There have been a lot of concerns over AfD and some of the concerns I'm seeing here, such as the Heads-up section, don't bother me, and I hope they wouldn't bother anyone with experience closing AfDs. Those concerns seem to be a result of the quantity of closes you're doing and should just be expected.
However, I've also learned, that you speedily close discussions out of order, that you relist a third time without reason why contra to guidelines (which as you point out isn't uncommon but is still against the guidelines an admin should be expected to know), and that you relist when closure would be appropriate. Given your copy/paste error I still have concerns about the speed of which you have engaged in closings at times. I'm not quite sure how to take I don't keep rhyme and reason around my AfDs. but it also doesn't seem encouraging. If you weren't an admin I would be off to a noticeboard to request a topic ban from administrative action at AfD. However, you are an admin and so that option feels different and seems to me that it would play out there differently, one way or another, because you're an admin. So yes I am asking you to voluntarily consider working some of the other backlogs we have instead of continuing to close AfDs as the easiest, and hopefully best, option.   • I've reviewed all the examples given and your actions were very reasonable in every case put forth, for example relisting a school that had one argument for delete and one for keep. Barkeep49 pointing out a copy paste error that was caught and corrected as if we aren't allowed to make mistakes is abusive. We're not robots or automotons and shouldn't be expected to be.

Not a single example has been provided where you action was inconsistent with guidelines or unreasonable. It's particularly disturbing that User:Barkeep49 found it appropriate to pile on to Sandstein's misguided and inapproptiate nitpicking.

Please keep up your terrific collegial work in whatever are you choose Missvain. Your work here is enormously helpful. That these two editors choose to be less than collegial and demanding of their personal standards instead of allowing editors to exercise their respective styles and good judgment is distressing but certainly goes far in explaining the many departures and the unhealthy editing environment we see here. Your reasonable, considerate, and collegial approach Missvain shines as a glowing example of how we should all aspire to edit and work together. Wikipedia would be a much better place with more grtting done by happier volunteers.

The relist guideline says "generally". We are always encouraged to use good judgment and your actions were quite reasonable in every example provided. We should be seeking more participation at AfDs not less. Happy New Year 2021. Enjoy life. Thank you for everything you do and all that you add to the project. Thanks for your work at AfD. I think the complaints you've received are ridiculous. For what it's worth, I think that your reasons for relisting three times when there's very little discussion is eminently clear, considering the fact that the template says the reasoning: to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus. It might save you headache to just copy and paste that quote when relisting if people want to find reasons to complain. This year, I have created one more article titled as Lahari Shari with in-depth research and have provided all relevant strong reliable sources. But there is one user on Wikipedia, who has nominated the page for deletion and there is no one else in participation who supports deletion in the discussion. I need your help to get it reviewed neutrally and to help me to improve the article and get approved. Also please ask your peer editors to jump in the discussion and do the needful. Mapd43 - I would replace all the YouTube and other non-reliable sources with reliable secondary sources like magazine articles, newspaper articles and interviews, radio interviews, and features. That will help you establish notability. Unfortunately, since you canvassed me here, I'm not able to comment on the deletion nomination because of Wikipedia:Canvassing. But, if you replace the sources with reliable secondary sources that establish the subjects general notability then you should be able to establish rationale for keeping the article. Possible Deletion, Female Artist, Ayana Evans

Hi Missvain, thanks for supporting the art world and being a great Wikipedian! I picked up where someone else left off on Ayana Evans. I have had it looked over by two different Wikipedians and it was accepted by Chicdat, now, however, it is flagged for possible deletion.

What do you think I should do to save the page? There is a New York Times feature on the artist, that is the strongest source, and a number of sources ranging from features in major art publications (Hyperallergic) to mentions in books and blogazines. I do not think there are technical errors but I am not sure. I am not the subject, I do not know the subject, I am merely an art world professional who cares about female artists. @Matriarch-info: Hi - I'd remove anything copyrighted, if any, that is mentioned in the deletion discussion here. I'd comment on the deletion discussion but I can't because canvassing is against policy (sadly since you told me about the article being deleted I can't comment on it!). I'd also go and leave your rationale for the article to be kept - keep it short, sweet and to the point. You'll probably want to cite WP:ARTIST. Hope that helps some! I don't appreciate the edit summary here, especially in light of the gatekeeping going on in that article while the main pov pusher is inserting BLP violations to democratic/leftist politicians, sourced to now deleted Facebook posts (and taken out of context.) But yeah, including that a primary proponent of conspiracy theories that lead to an act of terrorism, losing one of her largest platforms for agenda pushing is totally stupid. HELP

User:Missvain - I posted this to Wikipedia:Teahouse but saw your name on my Talk page.

I'm not a new editor at Wikipedia. My computer was murdered (RIP) and my Wiki password lost forever. Wiki says it can do nothing about accessing my account. Hence my User:Stretchrunner is dead (DNRIP). I created a new account, same name but now User:Stretchrunner II. So, I'm now a newbie and can't create a new article, not even a Redirect. When I created a new Draft Article, the message says to now wait up to five (5) months for a Review and they will determine if my article is okay and maybe will then allow me to create more new articles. Congressional race

In the past, you've mentioned that you review congressional articles. I'm writing because of that, but from the heads up you left, that might not be something you're doing now. There's a race in LA CD2 (New Orleans) that has attracted the attention of a Polish national. He or she posts word salad at times and also doesn't understand that one can't post text that's not supported by the sources. The poster also can't understand how to fill in templates as directed in English, so botches such posts regularly. I've posted at the Karen Carter Peterson article, a runoff candidate running against Troy Carter (politician). He or she posts on the article about her opponent as well. Another editor also objected to and reverted one of the same deletions that Qba0202 repeatedly made to one of my posts. Today USER Qba0202 posted without logging in, apparently to avoid being blocked for repeated deletions. The sockpuppet IP# from which Qba0202 posted is 94.42.56.188 located in...Poland Mazowieckie Warsaw Immediately afterward he or she logged in to make another edit. If you can't take a look at this if the unfortunate circumstances to which you referred are ongoing, can you suggest some administrator or user who might be helpful? Hi, can you please re-check my comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Soumendu Lahiri? The deletion discussion was not even properly sorted. No Bengali poet related categories were added to it. Hasan Moghimi

Hello Missavain, you deleted the page "Hasan Moghimi" without being discussed properly. After two times being listed, there was only one person in favor of deletion. I clearly brought examples of the pages with less information and less references, but no one addressed my reasoning. This would discourage people to participate in the growth of Wikipedia. If I don't understand what is wrong with my article which I had created after days and days of research and work, why would I do that again? Here are three examples: Nikol Faridani, Parisa Damandan and Mauricio Alejo. Moreover, if references in Persian language (including Iranian national awards) are not valued, there would be a sense of discrimination. Please note that search result for "Hasan Moghimi" returns 1130 in the English language and more than 40K in the Persian. Because it was pretty evident how it was going. It's quite common for the few (I mean literally there are like five of us, if that) admins who review AfD to close nominations early if it's evidence they're going one direction. If you feel that you have differing opinions and those two articles could possibly go elsewhere, I can reopen. At this point, as an admin, they'll be nominated for failing WP:GNG for lacking reliable secondary sources outside of extremely localized publications and mere mentions. NS-Tower and NS-Shaft articles deletion

Hi, both above mentioned articles were deleted per G8 as redirects to Nagi-P Software (deleted via AfD you closed: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nagi-P Software).
