Hello. Please notice my edits to Alene B. Duerk. Your'e using too many capital letters. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings). Early life, with a lower-case l, is correct; Early Life with a capital is wrong. Further reading, with a lower-case r, is right; Further Reading with a capital is wrong. You shouldn't capitalize an initial letter just because it's in a section heading. As with article titles, the first letter of the heading is capital; the later letters are lower case unless there's a particular reason to capitalize. Klunder[edit]

I appreciate your alteration of his rank to reflect his good fortune, and the Academy's, in being selected to admiral. I have not seen ranks used in this way, however, though this must fairly often happen at a lower level. My point is that the article is supposed to emphasize the Academy and we should not be dragged off into using reflected glory from people (hard to avoid with a President who graduated!). I would rather stick to common, official usage, and not be concerned about using terms that may more be an "honorific" rather than a real rank at this time. For some ranks, it can take a long time before they get the actual promotion. It doesn't seem quite right to use the term "higher rank-selected" during that entire period IMO. And while "nnn-selected" may work on paper, I think we can both agree that it is quite a mouthful if used verbally! :) Student7 (talk) 12:06, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hidden articles[edit]

If somebody enters "Elizabeth Hight" in the "Go" box on the Wikipedia screen, or creates a link to Elizabeth Hight in another article [or on your talk page here], someone who clicks on that link, or enters that name in the Go box, should be taken to the article you have created. That doesn't happen as long as the color of that link is red. Try clicking on it, and see what happens.

This doesn't happen automatically. You or somebody else needs to make it happen. Had you clicked on the blue link above where I said "redlink", you would have found that it takes you to Wikipedia:Redirect which tells you how to do that.

Note also that if, when you try to make the redirect you instead get taken to a different article, a redirect isn't enough. You then need to see Wikipedia:Disambiguation to see various ways to get readers to the point where they can choose which article they want to see. Good job on adding that link for the John Hopkins book to the U.S. Army Nurses Corps Page. Karen Flaherty copyright - false alarm[edit]

The two copyright warning paragraphs above were a false alarm - the automatic system, CorenSearchBot, which checks for copyright violations, found that the text of this article matched a web page marked "Copyright", but it turns out that it actually originated from a US Navy public-domain source, and the page marked "copyright" had also been taken from that source.
