Hiya Mahogany_h00r. Here's a belated welcome to Wikipedia. Thanks for your contributions, and keep up the good work! --Alan Au 05:59, 4 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Yamaguchi momoe.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Your edits to Mariah Carey et al[edit]

That is not how it's done. You do not make bold, radical changes to a featured article (or any other article) then provide simple explanation on the talk page. You provide your explanations first, wait until others review its authority, credability and importance, then we make changes to article. Oran e (t) (c) (e) 04:48, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question about Oricon[edit]

Hi. I was wondering if you could provide Oricon chart information (with references) for Vanessa Carlton, specifically her song "White Houses"? It would be much appreciated, as I am trying to improve the White Houses (song) article. Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 13:08, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure! Hmmmm *searches* I've found the Artist Page, which says that Be Not Nobody reached #17 on Oricon charts and Harmonium reached #52, but there's no information on the singles' sales. This means that the singles didn't make it into the top 200 (not that uncommon with western artists). However, they list that A Thousand Miles was released on the 2nd of May, 2002 and that White Houses was released on the 13th of October, 2004. I hope this helps! --Mahogany h00r 03:41, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, by the way, on the Japanese editions, Be Not Nobody had two bonus tracks, "Twilight (Live)" and "Wanted (Live Mix)". Also "Paint it Black" was renamed "黒くぬれ~ペイント・イット・ブラック" (Kurokunure~Peinto Itto Burakku) and Harmonium had a bonus track as #11 (Where the Streets Have No Name (Yakusoku no Chi)) ((約束の地; Ground of Promises) which then followed up with the next track, "The Wreckage". --Mahogany h00r 03:53, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the late reply! I didn't realise you had replied here. Thank you very much for the info! Also, I was wondering if those chart positions are considered good or bad? I don't know anything about the charts in Japan. Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 21:31, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It means that, well, Be Not Nobody was quite average (western releases always seem to hang around the bottom of the charts for ages because there's only gradual promotion, while domestic artists are all hyped and have extreme sales in the first week), but Harmonium did pretty poorly. Call Me When You're Sober Cover[edit]

That other cover has this border round it. Except for that, the cover I have uploaded is basically the same. Covers shouldn't have borders round them. Higher quality than 600×600 is not necessary. -- Luigi-ish 12:31, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

CMWYS Aussie mistake[edit]

Greetings. Regarding the image Evanescence_SoberAustMistake.jpg, was this a photo taken by you? If so, please indicate this in the description of the photo, so that it can be known to be an original work and not fair use. Thanks! -- Huntster T@C 02:46, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Of course it is. --Mahogany h00r 02:57, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. There is a purge of all Fair Use imagry taking place in Evanescence related articles, and without that statement present, it was (by default) considered fair use. -- Huntster T@C 02:59, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

==Fair use rationale for Image:Brook_shadow.jpg==

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Brook_shadow.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 13:01, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:MIA Kalaoff.jpg, by Staeckerbot, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:MIA Kalaoff.jpg is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:MIA Kalaoff.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:MIA Kalaoff.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 06:49, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:MIA Kalaoff.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MIA Kalaoff.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:51, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Stellarmixcover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Stellarmixcover.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:StellarForalvid.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:StellarForalvid.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy.

If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Σxplicit 00:56, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Evanescence SoberAustMistake.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Evanescence SoberAustMistake.jpg.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
  • If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.

Non-free rationale for File:Dekopon Hi-Chew.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Dekopon Hi-Chew.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 04:02, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
