January 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. One or more of the external links you added in this edit to the page DO-178B do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. You may wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. --RrburkeekrubrR 15:19, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

February 2010[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Code review. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Matchups 03:46, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The links that were added are in no means SPAMS or inappropriate. In fact, they are more relevant than many other external links. HighRely has many resources and content that would be good resources to safety critical engineering community. I will revise the wording and put back the links. I'm not sure if you are the owner of this page or just trying to filter the material. Madjidi (talk) 10:13, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Madjidi, I second Matchups concerns. E.g. here you added a link to Requirements traceability. The page linked to however is describing software, while the wikipage is more general. Also, the page you linked to is commercial in nature, more aimed at selling a product. They therefore fail several parts of 'Links to be avoided', and the way you are adding them certainly looks spammy. That other links are there is also not a proper argument (see WP:WAX). I would like you to discuss further additions on talkpages, and when a consensus develops for inclusion, then they can be included. I hope this helps. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:41, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. Maybe you are interested to join a WikiProject, see Wikipedia:WikiProject for a list. There people with similar interests come together, and you may be able to help expand articles or help in other ways in subjects you are interested in. Thanks. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:41, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
