Statistics[edit]

Hello! Thanks for updating the statistics on the Nehuén Pérez article, but in the future could you please update the timestamps so other editors and readers know when the statistics were last updated. For the career statistics table, all you need to do is use the date of your edit at the top of the stats table. While for the infobox just use five tildes (~) in the "club-update" section. Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Update stats. is not a minor edit, it is new information Matthew hk (talk) 18:19, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at User talk:Lubo-Iv-95, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Notice

The article Óscar Mingueza has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Notability of football players[edit]

Hi, I wanted to drop you a quick line on the notability thresholds for football players. First though, please let me thank and congratulate you on the prolific work you have been doing updating lots of articles on footballers - please don't see my approach as criticism, you are clearly doing a lot of good work in this area.

You are probably aware that we have criteria to determine whether or not footballers are sufficiently notable to merit having their own Wikipedia article - these can be found at WP:NFOOTY. The requirements are basically that they have played (or managed) in a Tier 1 international match, or in a match in a fully professional league - there is a list of the leagues considered to be fully professional here. I recently nominated a few of the pages you created for deletion, because the players (all from Barcelona B) had only ever played in the Segunda Division B, which is not fully professional. There are, I think, a few other pages you may have created for players who have similarly never played in a fully professional league - see Lazar Carević for example. Since these don't meet the notability requirements, I intend to go through and nominate these for deletion at some point, but if you prefer you could nominate them yourself via a CSD WP:G7, if you are the author and the only person who has done significant work on them.

As I said, I hope that you don't take this is any kind of criticism - the vast majority of the work you've done appears to be good, and on players who clearly meet the notability requirements - I'm just tidying up a few of the non-notable (or 'not yet' notable) loose ends. Please keep up the good work, but perhaps check the notability requirements carefully before creating any more pages for players in non-fully professional leagues. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 07:36, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I understand the requirements now. Proceed with this, if possible to archive them of some sort will be great, if not, no issue.
Hi - I'm glad you understand. Your request about archiving the pages is reasonable, since of course these players may become notable in future, so I spoke with an experienced page reviewer about how we could achieve that. He suggested that you could create 'user space' pages for them - essentially, make a new page under your user space, marked as 'Draft', and copy/paste all the text from any pages that are going to be deleted into there. If I let you know which ones I think need to go before I nominate for deletion, would you be happy to archive in your user space like this? Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 22:49, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks for the info. Once I have the time, will do it.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2020–21 First Professional Football League (Bulgaria), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Galin Ivanov. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

January 2021[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Samuel Umtiti, you may be blocked from editing. Mattythewhite (talk) 18:08, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Mattythewhite: I've seen you change it the other way around when, according to the WP:FOOTY consensus, both layouts are okay. So how can you warn somebody else for this sort of change? Robby.is.on (talk) 18:12, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You mean merge the division cells? I don't think I've ever done that. Mattythewhite (talk) 18:13, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Mattythewhite: I missed that Lubo-Iv-95's change was effectively a revert of yours. So I should rephrase my question: Why are warning a fellow editor for reverting a cosmetic change you made when both variants are okay? Robby.is.on (talk) 18:34, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's more than a mere cosmetic change, it's based on accessibility, as is explained at WP:FOOTY/Players. Mattythewhite (talk) 18:40, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It is not: "our readers won't be disadvantaged noticeably if we don't repeat every cell that contains duplicate data". You know, I actually prefer repeated cells. But I think it's wrong and borderline uncivil to accuse someone of disruptive editing for this when there's no clear consensus. Robby.is.on (talk) 19:40, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hristiyan Petrov moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Hristiyan Petrov, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
