I'm sorry to report that there were not enough accounts available for you to have one. I have you on our list though and if more become available we will notify you promptly.

We're continually working to bring resources like Credo to Wikipedia editors, and this will very hopefully not be your last opportunity to sign up for one. Thanks for starting this article, I've expanded it and nominated at DYK. Feel free to contribute more to it, particularly before it hits the main page! (And if you do so, feel free to add yourself to the DYK nom as a co-author). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 18:14, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

Great your expanding it! I have added a worldmap (underlining how many african countries signed....). I might be doing some editing on the side as well... L.tak (talk) 22:11, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

Could you give your opinion here? Ron 1987 (talk) 12:57, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

Research

Hi! I am a Ph.D student at Northwestern University's School of Communication studying the structure of collaborations around Wikipedia's coverage of breaking news events [1] for my dissertation. You played a very prominent and important role in editing Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant and Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster articles following the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. I would like to ask you some more questions about how you became involved in these articles and the work you did for my research. I am happy to talk on your discussion page here, via email, or another channel if you'd prefer. I look forward to hearing from you! Best, Madcoverboy (talk) 07:49, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

He Brian, Interesting topic for a PhD! Yeah, I was quite a news'y on that topic (although not(/hardly) professionally knowledgeable obout the topic. I am ok with trying to answer questions here, although we might have to find an alternative when personal info is needed (I never edit the topics in the fields that I am working on, as they could out me). I am on holidays at the moment, and internet availability is... variable ;-) L.tak (talk) 00:55, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
Well when you're back from vacation, I would love to find a time to chat via email\IRC\skype. Madcoverboy (talk) 02:25, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Takeaway.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Eeekster (talk) 20:24, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

Eurasian Patent Convention

Thanks for pointing out that the Director General of WIPO is the depositary of the Eurasian Patent Convention (Article 28 EAPC). Indeed. However, in my opinion, that does not mean that the treaty is administered by WIPO, see http://www.wipo.int/treaties/en/ which appears to be an exhaustive list. By analogy, the German Government is supposed to register the European Patent Convention with the Secretariat of the United Nations (Article 178(3) EPC). That does not mean that Germany or the United Nations administers the EPC. In my opinion, "administering" means more, i.e. the day-to-day management ("To manage or supervise the conduct, performance or execution of; to govern or regulate the parameters for the conduct, performance or execution of; to work in an administrative capacity." [2]). Cheers, --Edcolins (talk) 21:27, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

that's a valid viewpoint (which I mostly share). I do think however it is also defendable that a depositary administers a treaty, in the sense that it keeps its most important logs (accessions) and decides about that. I would argue that category membership should not be taken limitatively but if possible also a bit broader, so that people can appreciate articles that in some way group together... L.tak (talk) 21:31, 5 October 2012 (UTC)
Interesting. In view of Article 77 of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties [3], it seems that the functions of a depositary indeed include some sorts of "administering" tasks. Since the Director General of WIPO is the depositary of the Eurasian Patent Convention, it is fair to say that the treaty is administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization (unless the Director General of WIPO is outsourcing these tasks to some U.N. personals who are not themselves employees of the WIPO). Anyway, I was relying on the list put together by the WIPO itself: http://www.wipo.int/treaties/en/ . If the WIPO itself does not consider that they are "administering" the Eurasian Patent Convention, I was assuming that we may just rely on this... Enough hair-splitting, I won't debate this minor issue any longer. For your information: I have also created Category:Treaties of which the Director General of WIPO is the depositary‎. Notice of Dispute resolution discussion

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding a content dispute in which you may have been involved. Content disputes can hold up article development, therefore we are requesting your participation to help find a resolution. The thread is "Visa requirements for United States citizens, List of states with limited recognition". Please take a moment to review the simple guide and join the discussion. Thank you!

Guide for participants

If you wish to open a DR/N filing, click the "Request dispute resolution" button below this guide or go to Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/request for an easy to follow, step by step request form.

What this noticeboard is:
  • It is an early step to resolve content disputes after talk page discussions have stalled. If it's something we can't help you with, or is too complex to resolve here, our volunteers will point you in the right direction.
What this noticeboard is not:
  • It is not a place to deal with the behavior of other editors. We deal with disputes about article content, not disputes about user conduct.
  • It is not a place to discuss disputes that are already under discussion at other dispute resolution forums.
  • It is not a substitute for the talk pages: the dispute must have been discussed extensively on a talk page (not just through edit summaries) before resorting to DRN.
  • It is not a court with judges or arbitrators that issue binding decisions: we focus on resolving disputes through consensus, compromise, and explanation of policy.
Things to remember:
  • Discussions should be civil, calm, concise, neutral, and objective. Comment only about the article's content, not the other editors. Participants who go off-topic or become uncivil may be asked to leave the discussion.
  • Let the other editors know about the discussion by posting {{subst:drn-notice}} on their user talk page.
  • Sign and date your posts with four tildes "~~~~".
  • If you ever need any help, ask one of our volunteers, who will help you as best as they can. You may also wish to read through the FAQ page located here and on the DR/N talkpage.

The Barnstar of Diplomacy
Hi. I want to thank you for your contributions to the talk page on gay marriage in Brazil. However, I'd be glad if you go back to the page and see my latter change about the Brazilian Federal District (DF) ruling on how notaries must procede in case of gay couples applying for marriage licenses. I've posted a new and definitive link confirming the legalization of same-sex marriage in DF. Thank you so much! Rafavargas (talk) 05:57, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

Thanks; I think it is ok to add it; the sources look trustworthy; although with these issues: more is better (ideally: the formal source, a newspaper article about that, and an article about the first actual marriage, but in view that this is the 6th state where it happens, it is not an absolute requirement)... I've tried to clarify my argument about Palestine. Does this make sense now, or am I still misunderstanding your position? TDL (talk) 21:43, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

Greetings. You recently tagged that article as "unsourced". The article is a list consisting exlusively of separate wikipedia entries, each with its own definition, text and references. Therefore, there is no need to repeat here the references for each item. Take care. -The Gnome (talk) 11:24, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

Fair enough; didn't know that; thought they would need to stand on themselves like articles ... L.tak (talk) 11:47, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
Further to the above, it appears that there's more to it than I thought. I raised the subject in the Talk Page of the relevant rule and the consensus it that (a) lists are like every other atticle, and therefore (b) have to meet the requirements for providing appropriate references, just like in every article. In the case of the article "List of acronyms: European sovereign-debt crisis", none of the criteria for the obligatory inclusion of references in an article is met: The article is not about a BLP, it has no direct quotations by people in it, and it contains nothing that has been challenged or is likely to be challenged. Just thought you might want to know about this. Take care. -The Gnome (talk) 11:15, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

harrassment

this turkish camoka must be a big pain for you. I hope you would start take pills for your mental problems rather than ad hominem and investigations on other wikipedia editors. Hello, L.tak/Archives, and thank you for your contributions!

An article you worked on Conferences of the Parties of UNFCCC and the Kyoto Protocol, appears to be directly copied from http://ukinargentina.fco.gov.uk/en/about-us/working-with-argentina/prosperity/climate-change/negotiations/conference-parties. Please take a minute to make sure that the text is freely licensed and properly attributed as a reference, otherwise the article may be deleted.

It's entirely possible that this bot made a mistake, so please feel free to remove this notice and the tag it placed on Conferences of the Parties of UNFCCC and the Kyoto Protocol if necessary. MadmanBot (talk) 22:55, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

EPLA and UPC

Hello and thanks for your comment on the UPC talk page and your work on EPLA. Can you also write a small paragraph in the UPC article's background section about the role of EPLA (something along the lines of UPC being based on EPLA up to some degree or them sharing some articles and provisions)? A relevant source for this would be point 1. here: http://register.consilium.europa.eu/pdf/en/07/st14/st14492.en07.pdf. And, also, perhaps, add some information in the UPC article about the role of European Court of Justice rejecting some draft provisions of the draft UPC, most notably the participation of non-EU-member states? The relevant source would be this: http://curia.europa.eu/jcms/upload/docs/application/pdf/2011-03/cp110017en.pdf. Heracletus (talk) 16:56, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
