Chinese characters for Vietnamese names[edit]

Please stop adding Chinese characters to names of modern Vietnamese cities. They have not been used officially for almost a century, and some of those places were named after these characters have become irrelevant. DHN (talk) 01:16, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kuroha Jerry (talk) 01:54, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Chữ Nôm had been unused in Vietnam for almost a century, and it has no official status. It might be pertinent to add them for places whose names have been around for a while (like Hanoi), but adding them for places that were named after the 20th century (like Dalat and Ho Chi Minh City) makes no sense. Place names with Chinese roots or were named earlier already have the Chinese characters mentioned in the article body. DHN (talk) 03:34, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@DHN OK, I'll pay attention of that. I'll not add Chu noms at articles of latest cities and towns in Vietnam anymore. Kuroha Jerry (talk) 21:20, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
