Articles on surnames & Mahishya caste[edit]

It is ok to mention that Mahishyas use a particular surname if it is restricted to few castes like you have mentioned in the article on Das surname; but it would be unfair & undue if you mention the same in an article on a surname used by all major Bengali castes like Biswas and Bhowmick. I hope you understand. Thanks. Ekdalian (talk) 10:31, 11 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I understand. I was wondering the same. In that case, should those surnames' articles be left without mention of any caste ? I understand Biswas is going to be tough to categorized in terms of caste, but Bhowmick seems to be pretty restricted as a caste. From what I learnt, it is mostly used by Mahishyas, and some Gandhabaniks as well. I won't edit them anymore, but you could consider mentioning common castes that use those surnames in their respective articles. Thanks Ekdalian. Kreplach123 (talk) 11:27, 11 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
