Archive

I have given you an archive page, because you might want to archive some comments (mine) :)--andreasegde (talk) 19:58, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll probably archive after 10-15 posts. I wasn't really looking left, right and centre for this, but thanks anyway. I'll use it to archive your rubbish :) (Just kidding, you're a real help!) Ringo Starkison McLennon (talk) 20:06, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Chipped Paul.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Chipped Paul.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. αѕєηιηє t/c 22:12, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Hello, thanks for your reply, but one reason does not constitute a rationale. αѕєηιηє t/c 22:29, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
That would probably be the best idea. Slap it on and remove the IfD tag. αѕєηιηє t/c 22:32, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I put a rationale. Feel free to post me on anything. Have a great day! Ringo Starkison McLennon (talk) 22:45, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Yes, that's fine. αѕєηιηє t/c 19:04, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Rain

After a good read-through for obvious mistakes (there are always one or two) I think the article should be nominated for GA. --andreasegde (talk) 06:07, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I also put a fair-use explanation on the Lennon/Macca photo, and the chipped tooth photo. If they ask, "Low resolution?" write Yes.--andreasegde (talk) 06:12, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Chipped Paul.jpg)

⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:Chipped Paul.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. αѕєηιηє t/c 19:05, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I can't 'not bother telling you' as such, the software I use to quickly edit Wikipedia does it automatically. αѕєηιηє t/c 22:16, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I put it on the Paul is dead page, because they need anything at all to bolster their case. Does "daed si luaP" mean anything?--andreasegde (talk) 10:04, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Next job?

Someone put Yesterday and Today on the GA list, but it needs some work. As The Beatles' GA Vice-President (I'm working on a special Barnstar for that) would you consider looking at it? (We could both look at it, but I'm busy with John Lennon, which needs a lot of cleaning to get rid of New Yawkerisms like "it hit the top spot in 1974".) --andreasegde (talk) 10:00, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

BTW, it's, a n d r e a s e g d e, and I have two testicles.--andreasegde (talk) 14:33, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
You have to stick around (or pop in from time to time) to wait for the Rain review, or you don't get any pudding. :)--andreasegde (talk) 09:46, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Rain

Hi Kodster, I had a look, and it looks fine to me, (I just wikilinked a few things)- Good job! Cheers, Vera, Chuck & Dave (talk) 15:19, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

UK dates in Beatle articles

I see you have changed dates in Paperback Writer to "month daynum, year" format. Beatle articles use UK date format. Please change it back. John Cardinal (talk) 02:08, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Hello John! This is strange, because it is day, month, year, but in the references for web articles on the day they were published it's year, month, day, which confuses me no end... :)--andreasegde (talk) 17:39, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

All things Indian

Uhhh... give me a curry, a samosa or anything at all - please.--andreasegde (talk) 17:58, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Arthur Dent

Kodster likes Arthur and Ford Prefect, which is to be applauded, as the books were the first ones to make me (literally) LOL.--andreasegde (talk) 14:24, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

"A Hard Day's Night"

Regarding this edit, you can still edit an article after it was featured. If you have an issue with individual edits, you should explain what they are, not just revert with the belief that the version that was promoted is better, no matter what. As such, I am going to revert you; you have removed at least some new and useful content. J Milburn (talk) 22:42, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I realised it was just an innocent mistake, I didn't mean to accuse you of anything. Happy editing! J Milburn (talk) 23:07, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Looking over the article quickly (I'll give a more in-depth review if you like) I would say Image:Beatles-singles-a-hard-days-night-uk-1.jpg needs a fair use rationale (that would get the article speedy failed), single sentence paragraphs should be merged together or expanded, but there are still referencing problems- the citation needed tags should either have a reference added, or their corresponding facts should be removed, and every sentence should be attributed somewhere- I can see a lot that aren't; even some quotes! It's not a bad article at all, but still needs a little work. J Milburn (talk) 22:31, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Wrong Image

On the infobox "This user loves The Beatles", Kodster has a photo of a French Street.--andreasegde (talk) 16:52, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

I did not make the userbox. I took it from someone else (I stole it). I guess I'll just have to take it off, if it's bothering you so. Kodster (Talk) 19:54, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
I changed it on the original. This waiting for the reviews always gets me down... --andreasegde (talk) 14:40, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Photo

Have a deek at my page, me old mucker.--andreasegde (talk) 17:22, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

"Rain"

Nice article; its GA-class easy. Did a copy-edit too. The main thing I changed was exchanging the positions of the Release and Structure sections, as per other song articles. Its more logical this way too, the Structure would go better with Recording while Reception goes hand in hand with Release. Best, indopug (talk) 04:13, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi again. Is that Alan W. Pollack ref notable/reliable? Does it meet WP:RS? indopug (talk) 04:44, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Cool, keep up the good work! indopug (talk) 04:39, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I don't do GA reviews. Call me if you're taking it to FA though. indopug (talk) 14:22, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

What is the meaning of this? indopug (talk) 02:38, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Oh its a talk page welcome/instructions post. Thanks! indopug (talk) 12:33, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Congratulations on this GA; good work! --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 22:18, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Barnstar

You, Kodster, should be doubly proud, because you are the first editor on The Beatles' project to get a GA since 1 December 2006 - Paul McCartney. (All the other ones were done/cleaned for GA by some other bloke, who shall remain nameless).--The man with the hobnail boots (talk) 21:36, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey

Feel free to talk. Though my user page says I'm on a Wikibreak, I'll probably be able to respond. So let's chat. Kodster (Willis) (Look what I can do) 01:52, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

I thank you very kindly for your message. I left an explanation on my page. :)--andreasegde (talk) 18:00, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

GA review

Hi regardinour request on my talk page, unfortunately you will have to add it to the nomination page, other articles have been waiting a long time for a review so its kinda only fair on them, it looks promising however. Realist2 (talk) 14:16, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

I am sorry, if it wasnt so backlogged i honestly would do it, ive passed 2 beatles related articles in two days, its not an issue for me, but when some articles have been waiting 6 weeks, well you kinda see my point. Realist2 (talk) 22:15, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
