Vandalism by user c21k

User c21k has deleted the entire history section added be me in the tulu language page with refrence.he has also removed refrences. the section is as follows

History

In an ancient greek text titled the Charition mime(200 B.C.) which contains a play about greek sailors and their adventures in coastal parts of what is present day Indian state of karnataka, the Indian characters are seen speaking a language diffrent from greek.many scholars tried to identify the language.Noted German Indologist Dr. E.Hultzsch claimed that it was some ancient dravidian language that was spoken in those times.Studies conducted by Indian linguist like P.S.Rai[1] identified the language as Tulu. This finding was also affirmed by Central Institute of Indian Languages[2] as also Edith Hall,A research professor at University of London[3]. Also the Halmidi inscriptions makes mentions of the Tuluve people and their culture[4].There is also a Tamil poem written during the Sangam age that makes mention of the tulu land and its people[5].It also widely beleived that the Satyaputra kingdom mentioned in Ashokan edicts as one of the four kingdoms out of his rule is the Alva Kheda/Tulu Nadu region.[6]Attagirl (talk) 14:31, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

This about the language page

the user c21k is making unnecessary edits to the tulu language page.i wrote about the tulu speaking gowdas and cited this refrence [1] from hindu he is saying it is unreliable.he is vandalising the page.Anusvara (talk) 06:21, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

about mangalorean regionalism

great because the vandalism was started by a weirdo kannadaiga called c21k as he made conflicting edits and listed tulu konkani as minority languages in south canara and also made personal derogatory comments check the edit list there is an i p address as well. on the page and the 1991 census report is added by me ok.i have mentioned the source and the census dept website isn/t it there.also could you please lock this article.one more thing we need to improve the tulu nadu article.

Chembur

hi John,

Thank you for your recent pointer to the Chembur history article. Also, I don't think I deserve the Barnstar, yet -- but thanks, anyway. I would like to know how I can push Chembur out of Start class into (atleast) C Class article on wikipedia. Help would be great. Thanks Prad2609 (talk) 14:04, 1 June 2009 (UTC)Pradeep

One thing that comes to my mind in context of this FAR is that next time an article is in FAR or FAN, we should definitely contact some copyeditors. I tried wooing some of my colleagues who could be expert copyeditors (documentation team) to get into this, but no success in that yet.--GDibyendu (talk) 14:05, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

I think the main thing that catches the eye of a reviewer is lack of referencing. Later, prose may come into picture. For the first one, we need to work proactively to reference old FA's. Also, attempts to expand the supported articles can help; often people forget to expand them, even though they are claimed as 'main article' of a section. For the prose part, we really need to have some people in WP:India project, who are just interested in copyediting. Till then, we have to ask the group of copyeditors for help wherever needed. One typical issue with old FAs is that original contributors did not bother about inline citations much, as it was not that important then, and now that info is lost: it is difficult for others to reference. Also, sometimes I have seen that people have taken info from unreliable sites (most probably) and now it is not possible to find reliable sources.--GDibyendu (talk) 14:48, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

The intro section of this article is misleading. there is no need to creat Encounters by Mumbai police article we can add its section MP's article.(PS I have removed encounter squads entry from MP's article.)--Suyogtalk to me! 14:52, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Genelia

See the talk page, I give you 24 hours to cite sources for your claim.

Other than that, I came to warn you: when you revert someone for one thing, you should not make full reverts when there are other edits as well in one revision (you also removed my hidden note). ShahidTalk2me 10:41, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Please read WP:BURDEN. The burden of evidence is only on you. I don't have to prove that something is not, you are the one who has to prove that something is, especially when you claim this is the case. I've actually not claimed anything, but questioned something. As the one who added the info, you have to assume good faith in those who question its veracity and worry for the improvement of the article. ShahidTalk2me 13:48, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Very bad you don't know. Clearly her age is the main problem because it's incorrect. Anyway, an Indian actor cannot make both things simultaneously. If she did that, it would be notable enough for journalists to write that Genelia used to run from sets to classes, but it's clearly not the case. I question the vercaity of this detail, I ask when extactly it happened. She, though not an extremely popular actress, is a well covered personality. There must be something about it. And I think this should be supported by other sources as well. One source is not enough. ShahidTalk2me 15:38, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Just for the record, please understand I'm doing that for the sake of the article. Nothing personal at all. ShahidTalk2me 15:46, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
I am aware of this magazine. I've read some article on it a while back. But please go to the bottom of table, and you'll see that it's written there: "Courtesy: Web Resources"... So here you go.
I'm not concenrned now about her education as much as I I'm concerned for her birth place. I think there is a consensus on the talk page that she was born in Mumbai. ShahidTalk2me 09:46, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
I suspect it's been mirrored from Wikipedia itself. I remember when I started expanding the Preity Zinta article, it was written there that she had her psychology degree from the Mumbai uni, which was somewhere in a source (askmen.com). I checked the matter, and it was proved to be a big mistake. She made her graduation from St. Bede's college in Simla. I watched an interview of hers at BAFTA and that's how it all got collected. I quite understand that it's not easy to write a background section, it's often mispresented by reliable sources also. After all it happened before the subject got its notability. That's why it's best to find sources where the person discusses it themselves.
I don't oppose any longer to having it there. I'll respect your keenness to have it the way it is, and it's unpleasant to know you are perceived as a big pain in the ass when you actually try to improve. I suggest you to think about the article and its reliability and look for better sources for that data in your free time. Best, ShahidTalk2me 16:44, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Well yes, let's leave it for now. Let's go according to sources solely. Her popularity is likely to increase in the coming days with her wider forey into Hindi films as they are generally covered better. I'm only a bit afraid that reliable sources will mirror Wikipedia and then no correct info is found.
Did you have a mail conversation with an actor/actress or what? ShahidTalk2me 18:36, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
I agree, people can often be impolite without getting that other people try to write decent articles on their biographies for free. If Preity Zinta had ever acted like this with me (I don't believe she would), I would've left her article for others to write. I believe Genelia would be nicer. BTW, I remember back in time actress Ayesha Takia created an account on Wikipedia. LOL :) ShahidTalk2me 19:06, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Assessment Request

Hello Sir

I have recently restructured and wikified article Labh Singh. I have build it into several sections and I have also added several references. Kindly assess it. I sincerely believe that it deserve way better ratings now --135.214.150.100 (talk) 09:57, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Excellent article, freind. This is definitely better than Start. But, I am bit confused whether this is a C-class or a B-class article. We will asess it soon. Just some time KensplanetTC 17:32, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Are U User:Singh6 by any chance? Just a guess. KensplanetTC 17:34, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Its surely at C-level now, as it is well-referenced and close to being comprehensive. I think if the following is done, it can be a B:
  • one image
  • some details on his career in Punjab Police, where he worked for 12 years.
  • some details on his leaving police force and joining Khalistan Commando Force, it may not be a sudden event. How did he get inspired?
  • normalization of references (some has bare refs), some should use cite book format etc.
Once these are taken care of, it can go for GA-review also.--GDibyendu (talk) 13:55, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Just letting you know I'm done at the Mumbai GA Review - it is now on hold. Cheers. hamiltonstone (talk) 04:09, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

This edit summary must be based on a misunderstanding of some sort. I'm not aware of any such requirement. 86.44.29.142 (talk) 03:21, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Hello Sir, per your text on Labh Singh, I had added information between "Labh Singh's leaving police force" and "joining Khalistan Commando Force". Added Ramesh Chander episode which showed "subject’s increasing loyalty towards Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale" and "his eventual move towards Khalistan Commando Force". I had also added several world level references, further improving Labh Singh's wp:notability. This article has suddenly come across some massive edits by Sinneed. I believe that Sinneed's un-intentional massive edits/deletion of important text/modification (especially) of the lead section can harm this article's future chances at GA review/any other promotions. You had especially noted that almost every single sentence of article was properly referenced. Please pay your kind attention towards Labh Singh and please help the article. --98.207.210.210 (talk) 07:43, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

I have noted several points on Talk: Labh Singh under section Comments for B-class. Thanks for your precious time --98.207.210.210 (talk) 07:43, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

I have opened an wp:RFC about a dispute at Labh Singh. I wonder if you might have both time and interest to comment. No problem if not, life is far to short to worry about such things.- sinneed (talk) 04:12, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

I replied to your comment on Abecedare's talk. In general, every WikiProject with a lot of articles more than two years old will have a lot of problematic FAs. Pre-emptive work is needed if WikiProjects want to be able to keep a clean sheet without delistings. WP:AUS has saved all 7 FARs in the last 18 months but there are still many sitting ducks out there including some articles that need a rewrite. Other news
  • I am still working on the categorization matter. With any luck, we should have some results by the end of the month. There are also some discussions regarding project related activities at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/General Forum. One issue in particular that might be addressed is possible elections of new coordinators. Anyone interested in serving in such a capacity is more than welcome to indicate as much.

Member contest of the month
  • The previous contests are still ongoing, because of the extreme amount of time the categorization is taking me. Anyone who can bring any of the few Stub class articles among the project's 1000 most often accessed articles by the end of July will get an award. Please see the details Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Christianity#Project challenge of the month.

From the Members

Welcome to the Tenth issue of the WikiProject Christianity newsletter! Use this newsletter as a mechanism to inform yourselves about progress at the project and please be inspired to take more active roles in what we do.

It has been a long time since the last coordinators election. There is a lot for people to do, and I certainly would welcome seeing any individuals with an interest in such a position put themselves forward as candidates. I in particular would very much like to see some degree of "specialization" in the coordinators, so that, for instance, we might have someone knowledgable about some of the specific Christian faith traditions or other main subjects, like Orthodoxy, Lutheranism, Mormonism, the Jehovah's Witnesses, art, theology, and so on. If any parties who have experience with some of our faith- or- subject-based content would be interested in being candidates, I would love to see them do so. Please feel free to take part in the discussion regading what the minimum number of category items is, and how to deal with the non-qualifying categories, on the General Forum page.

hi, kensplanet

c21k isn't using his own username he is using the ip address, anyways i am krishnaraja nair,i am an alumni of st aloysius mangalore and i love tulu nadu culture as much my very own malayali culture.there are lot of connections between these two culture nairs and bunts, theyyam and kola and of course high literacy and tolerance and also i beleive tulu language hasn't been given much due. therefore i have even added the image of tulu script to shut the mouth of kannada chauvanists who until very recently claimed tulu was a dialect o kannada.anyways i beleive articled related to konkani people also need urgent attention anyways i am presently in mumbai,Princeofdark07 (talk) 04:14, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

hi

the south canara disctrict gazetter excludes kasargod. also there is no mention of beary language as also koraga.are they classified under kannada or malayalam as dialects.secondly kannada speakers are in south canara are mostly towards kundapura they speak kundagannada, a dialaect which is more closer to tulu than kannada.kannada people can hardly interpret it.also the konkani population in the region has greatly reduced due to migration when compared to other native speakers.also there is 10.8 percent growth in number of tulu speakers check the census website of gov of india.also i stumbled across another intersting fact kannada speakers in bangalore are only 35 % of the population and tamil speakers are 20% in bangalore.also most people in tulu nadu are bilingual that is they can speak tulu along with their mother tongue.do you have any facts regarding it.check the website the 1991 census is there www.censusindia.net

Hindi Wikipedia

Hi,

Hindi wiki is very short of contributors. Hindi being a language of many is in very neglected state even on Wikipedia (See stats ). Other languages which have way smaller speakers have more articles on their respective Wikipedia than Hindi wikipedia. The situation is so bad that there are only 2 fully active editors and 3-4 more contributors who are creating and expanding the hindi wiki. I request you to join us in this attempt of making Hindi wiki a respectful internet resource for information in Hindi.

Kareena Kapoor

Hello User:Kensplanet!! How are you?? I have come to ask a favor from you. I am planning to nominate Kareena Kapoor's article for FA status sometime by the end of this year or early next year. User:Dr. Blofeld, User:Shshshsh and I have already looked into the article for a long time and its about time we have some new people look into the article. I know that you primarily work on articles related to religions, cities, etc, and working on articles related to actors is very rare for you. However, I am looking for people that can help copyedit the article and was wondering whether you would be willing to help me. I would greatly appreciate it if you could. Regards -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 02:19, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

I should be the one thanking you for helping me with the article Kensplanet. Thank You very much for your help. I really appreciate it!! (P.S. I have noticed that you created a separate page where you copyedited the "Early life and family" section on Kapoor's article. Will you be doing the same for the other sections as well?) Regards -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 16:47, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Yes, we do have plenty of time! As a matter of fact, I want to nominate the article when I have the time to interact in the FAC discussion and address the issues that are outlined during the article's FAC. This will probably be sometime during Dec 2009 or after April 2010. I currently have about 2 and a half weeks before I head back to University and I plan to get as much done during this time. After that, my edits on Wikipedia will be really limited though I'll try to be as frequent as possible. Regards -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 02:07, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Updated DYK query On August 22, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article James Scurry, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Wikiproject: Did you know? 23:00, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm trying to get the article to GA status (and hopefully FA after that), and would like a neutral opinion on whether it's currently a B class or C Class article. It was a horrible start class essay with copy vios until a few weeks back, but I've tried to clean it up and brought it up a notch but I think I'm getting too bogged down in the details, so would welcome the opinion of a fresh pair of eyes, especially since you're on the review team for India articles. Also, can you reassess the importance? Given that he India's first great English author, I'd think it should be High importance. Let me know what you think on the current state and necessary and other possible improvements. (I haven't yet gotten to the area about Awards/criticism etc). cheers -SpacemanSpiffCalvinHobbes 19:01, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Oops, I saw the Bio priority as blank, and Chennai-importance as blank, and didn't look at the overall importance. High would be fine I think. Also, other feedback on the article content would be great. cheers -SpacemanSpiffCalvinHobbes 05:27, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
