Update[edit]

Hi, I have created the page please have a look. I appreciate your help User:StraussInTheHouse Julia Hudson 1 (talk) 22:57, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on FasciaBlaster, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Please let the admin check, he told me to create it. Julia Hudson 1 (talk) 23:19, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Julia, I know it can be very tricky to write articles here and I hope you continue to edit articles. StraussInTheHouse is not an admin, just a regular user like you and me, but he helps other users with new articles. He did tell you that the product might meet GNG but not it's inventor, which seems to be correct. The reason your article is being nominated for deletion is because it sounds like an advertisment, and it doesn't cite medical journals for the medical claims (something Wikipedia is rather strict on). I see you're already up to speed on how to cite works, so your help with editing already-existing articles would be very well appreciated. – Þjarkur (talk) 23:49, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Julia Hudson 1 Can you clarify which admin you're referring to? Praxidicae (talk) 23:58, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Þjarkur Thank you very much, I really appreciate your comments. I was using visual editor and it's quite easy. Yes I will edit but I am very disappointed from the comments of another user, I am not sure why HE'She took it too personal https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Tagishsimon#Help as far as I know, every cited reference is from a reliable source and I tried my best to eliminate the advertisement sections and claims. There's so much in the news section of the Google about it, and I just did that after StraussInTheHouse suggestion. Anyway, if someone here doesn't allows you to edit and clearly saying that will delete it even someone approved, I guess it's useless to edit. Julia Hudson 1 (talk) 13:13, 25 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
He misunderstood how the article came about, he saw that you wrote an article about the inventor and then the product, so he assumed there was a conflict of interest going on. I also don't think he's wrong in calling the product snake oil, articles about those kinds of products have to be written very carefully. The article is too promotional (by the standards of Wikipedia) and it won't make it through AfC. But that is okay, not everything gets to have a Wikipedia article. I'd recommend leaving it in Drafts, another user might finish it in a few months if the product receives more attention. You'll get used to the norms on Wikipedia quickly, it's only at first that the rules seem insurmountable and strange :) – Þjarkur (talk) 13:31, 25 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm well aware of the genesis of the article. Any editor solely devoted to pimping a single product, either by way of an article about its inventor or the product itself raises WP:COI questions which will not go away. Meanwhile if you think The Sun is a reliable source, I have more bad news for you. There's nothing personal in this. I merely do not wish to see Wikipedia used to promote crappy products. So tell me, Julia. Why exactly are you so determined to get this article on wikipedia? --Tagishsimon (talk) 14:19, 25 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've revised the article to meet wikipedia's requirements for a neutral point of view; notably, I've removed credulous claims about the efficacy of the device, and added information on the two pending class actions, the anti-SLAPP case which Black lost, and the defamation cases which she mounted and then abandoned. I've left much of your Black apologia in the criticism section. I have not yet fleshed out my references - they're for now inserted as bare links. If the article is to be promoted and retained, it will be in this sort of shape, with this sort of detail, rather than the promotional, uncritical and biased article you produced. Please let me know if you'd like me to move it into article space now; I'll be quite happy to do so. --Tagishsimon (talk) 16:22, 25 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've now promoted the draft to artice space - Ashley Black's FasciaBlaster. Well done on starting it. Good result. --Tagishsimon (talk) 16:52, 25 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
