Reverting

How does one revert a page to a previous version?

WP:REVERT. Xiner (talk, email) 17:57, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
For full information, see Help:Reverting. One method is to go to the page's history, click on the date/time of the previous version you want to revert to, then click 'edit this page' and save without changing the text box (give an edit summary that says something like 'revert' or 'rv', and preferably a reason) (see the page I linked for some other methods). Hope that helps! --ais523 17:58, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

VandalProof

As moderators we're allowed to break our rules from time to time when we know that the user will not abuse the tools, so if you want access then put a request up on the page and I will attempt to answer it, due to me knowing you pretty well. —Xyrael / 14:59, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Try now. —Xyrael / 17:19, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

User warnings--careful

A gentle reminder--warnings to users belong on these users' talk pages, not on their user pages. I've taken the liberty of moving your warning re: 3nity from User:3nitybros to User talk:3nitybros. Thank you for your help in keeping Wikipedia relatively clean. Finngall 16:32, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to VandalProof!

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Soaringgoldeneagle! You have now been added to the list of authorized users, so if you haven't already, simply download and install VandalProof from our main page. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any other moderator, or you can post a message on the discussion page. Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 17:11, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Wow

I was surprised by the choice of revertion you warned 67.79.102.61 for. Perhaps you should find a different example? (Not that I think the user is very constructive. ) ;-) Greswik 19:06, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Yeah. I hit the wrong warning button using VandalProof Soaringgoldeneagle 08:43, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Small Steps novel cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Small Steps novel cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:39, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

The link

Hey, it's not that. It's just that zOMG is the true name of the game Gaia Battle. That's why I redirected it to there. That article's not updated. The post here (posted on Wed Jul 23, 2008 11:20 pm) states that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.84.64.96 (talk) 08:54, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Spreadsheet - interactive spreadsheets

You removed a link to historical information mentioned in the text which has currently no references (removed earlier by over enthusiastic & 'minimalist' editors). I created the external information on Editgrid because wikipedians refuse to believe that fully spreadsheets existed on mainframes in 1974. How do you advertise something that is not for sale, never has been and never will be?ken (talk) 11:19, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Perhaps I was overzealous in removing the link as spa,. However, adding a link to your own content is not a substitute for adding referenced, encylopedic information, and could quite easily be used for POV-pushing. Soaringgoldeneagle (talk) 11:24, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi, thank you for the welcome! I'm Italian and I don't speak english very well, and I edit these articles just to add the italian interwiki in your pages ;) --151.33.172.179 (talk) 13:16, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

RE: A couple of well-deserved awards

Thanks for that. I very rarely get WP awards so it's nice to have some to add to my page. —Sean Whitton / 14:23, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Combining References

The purpose of reference names is not to check the information at hand, the reference tag itself as parsed in the aritcle is for that. The purpose of ereference names (since they only appear in the wiki code) is to allow multiple references to the same source. See Wikipedia:REF#Using_the_same_citation_again. If you disbelieve my use, you can see that the same practice is employed in any FA. See Nuthatch, today's featured article, as just one example. I don't want to step on any toes, so I won't revert until you say you're okay with the change. 24.15.83.84 (talk) 15:35, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

PORK SWORDS

death by tv have changed their name to pork swords, i am simply thus correcting wikipedia by putting the information on the pork swords page and redirecting from death by tv —Preceding unsigned comment added by Williesandbottoms (talkcontribs) 10:02, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Invitation to an anonymous IP to join as an editor

Thanks for the invitation to create a Wiki account. I've been contributing to Wikipedia for years. I use an anonymous IP under a few, various conditions: mostly when I'm just making the observation, and don't really mind whether other editors aren't interested. The other situation is where I suspect editors are more in the mood for a confrontation than in the article content itself. 24.130.12.36 (talk) 10:10, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Question

Today I have come across many vandals that just blank their talk page after they are given warnings. What are we supposed to do for that? I reversed User talk:80.7.205.121 page blanking, but I don't know how to better handle this. It is hard to keep up with warnings if you have to check a talk page history every time you go to post a warning. Chexmix53 (talk) 23:57, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
