Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added such as to the page Ulysses 31 do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. magnius (talk) 16:11, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Ulysses 31. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. magnius (talk) 16:35, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The link is not something that is inappropriate, it has a direct relation to the subject and is a presentation of something that is refferred to in the article more so than some of the other extenal links on the page, it is not a promotion but a refferal. I don't know if you looked at was was being linked to but if you do you will see that it is showing the exact thing that is the subject of the paragraaph entitled "Pilot". Therefore it is the exact thing being discussed which the other links are inadequate to show. Why are the other links there on that page other than to illustrate, this one is no different and one of the other links goes directly to youtube to show a similar example, exactly what I was doing. So it seems that there are contradictory messages being sent out by wikipedia that bear no logic under scrutiny other than the subjective whims of an editor. Hardly academic is it?

November 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Franklin child prostitution ring allegations has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvjOlEUUzC0, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggxiBWv4xYE (matching the regex rule \byoutube\.com). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. Video links are also strongly deprecated by our guidelines for external links, partly because they're useless to people with slow internet connections.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 22:56, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Ulysses 31. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. magnius (talk) 23:58, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Ulysses 31. Favonian (talk) 00:02, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
