Biman interior

Hi Jetstreamer! I have noticed that Biman Bangladesh Airlines page does not have a good picture of an aircraft's interior. Since I am not good with uploading images, would you consider uploading this image of 777's economy class and business class after getting the author's approval. Aeroflot (again)

The article has been semi-protected for a year, with the latest protection implemented by JamesBWatson (comment from this admin regarding the matter I mention). The silver lock worked for the year the page was under protection; since it expired less than a month ago, IP edits started introducing unsourced changes again, as you can see from the history of the article. I would have protected it for longer than that. We are dealing with an editor who has been doing the same thing over a period of three years, and has not been deterred by several short-term protections and one for a year, and so is unlikely to be deterred by another one year block. However, as in all cases of page protection, we have to balance that against the collateral damage on legitimate IP editors caused by a long block, so maybe Yunshui's one year block is best. Editor User:AltynAsyr

You had a run-in with the above editor in October. The user has since added a lot of material to the Awaza article. Some of it alright, albeit lifted off another article, but most of the other stuff is quite poorly-written. Some of the material is sourced, but my Russian is not sufficient to read whether it supports the source or not. The user doesn't respond to my edit summaries explaining this, though they seemed to respond to yours, so all the better that I invite you to take a look at the article in its current state. The reason I did not reference the information I provided was because I do not know how to add references, I find it a fairly confusing endeavor and I also think it was EXTREMELY rude of you to remove the reference-able information I provided on this page. I understand the need to provide sources for the posted data. But the data currently included in the article is clearly wrong, which is visible by just going through any of Aerolíneas' A340-300s. This notion might not qualify as a quote but should be enough to realize that the data currently posted is wrong, including the (outdated) sources it refers to and that something should be done about it. Right or wrong does not fit here. The threshold for inclusion is verifiability, not truth. It is not what I think, but what the policies and guidelines say. I've taken a look at the current version of the official website for seating layout, and there's only one seat configuration for each type of aircraft. Musical Knowledge Altered

Hi there,

Thanks for the message. I have only altered music data which I'm 100% sure of, such as Roy Orbison pages, etc. I've been collecting music data since July 1960, therefore have a high degree of knowledge where music is concerned.

Someone has mentioned to me a person with the sirname 'Derbyshire'. I don't know anyone with the last name 'Derbyshire'.

I contributed to the Guiness Book of British Hit Singles and Albums for many years {you'll find my name - Russtti Gaynor - listed in many of the final copies, until Virgin took over in 2006.

I only contribute to whoever/whatever I know for fact, okay? I will back it up if need be.

Help!

Hi Jetstreamer,

I'm still very new to W and by no means fully confident - have made the odd mistake! But I was astonished just now when I visited the page on the MV Derbyshire in order to view it and not only had it had been blanked, but about only six minutes prior to my visit!

Anyway, I have restored it - having cursorily checked the old 'revision' and spotted no ills initially (tho' I was only viewing, not editing). I noticed that you appear to have left remarks on the 'talk' page of the user who blanked the page (if I am understanding all this) and should therefore be grateful if you could find a moment to check this - or otherwise advise.

I cannot see any 'in use' tag anywhere (not that I would necessarily recognise this). I hope all this is OK.

I also 'flagged up' this edit on the article's 'talk' page.

American Airlines A321 transcontinental aircraft

The airline already took delivery of one of the aircraft on November 21, 2013 according to AA's official press release. But none of the sources say that AA has that aircraft in their fleet right now. Should we put the number in the table marked "in service" as when the airline actually begins flying that aircraft on routes or when the aircraft is delivered to the airline at the American Airlines fleet page? EgyptAir Ownership Status

Well, Regarding EgyptAir state ownership (@ Flag carrier), I happen to be an Egyptian, and I know it's a state owned company, never the less, I wanted to have a confirmation before adding the information to Wikipedia, So I checked the Wikipedia page on EgyptAir, and it confirmed the same. Do we really need to add reference to information already mentioned earlier on Wikipedia ? And, regarding the citation, can a Non-English website be cited in an English Wikipedia article ? Your removal of my edits

Sorry but I cannot agree with your removal of my edits in Düsseldorf Airport. I'm editing articles here and on the German Wikipedia for several years now and know how to handle sources.

1. Edit - The change from Eastern to BA CityFlyer: I added a link to an article stating that BA CityFlyer upgrades from the Saab 2000 that Eastern operates on behalf of BA CityFlyer to Embraer 170/190 which are not operated by Eastern but BA itself as Eastern has no Embraer E-Jets.

2. Edit - Lufthansa ceases Tel Aviv. This change has been implemented in the booking schedule on lufthansa.com today and is discussed in German aviation forums. It is not possible to set direct links and therefore inline citations to the result of the result of asking to booking engine and also no direct links to lufthansa.com's schedule chart are possible. You can check it for yourself. DUS-TLV is flown on Wednesdays and Saturdays and the last available direct flight is the 12. January 2014. lufthansa.com is considered the primary source and as there is no possibility of direct links I did it this way for months and always got good feedback for it.

Do take a look WP:AIRPORT-CONTENT. You should provide inline citations for your changes, both for start and end dates. Point 1 mentioned above is clearly original research. Sorry, but I disagree. There is not original research when it is a fact that Eastern doesn't operate the mentioned type but the main company does as clearly visible from BA CityFlyer and Eastern Airways.
Point 2: There might be a misunderstanding: The forums were just a hint, the primary and only valid source is lufthansa.com with it's official schedule and the booking engine and both clearly state that the route ceases but both can't be used as a inline citation as lufthansa.com doesn't generate reusable links for both. As I said, it's the primary source and everyone can check it. We are handling it this way for years, even if you may didn't notice (which is not meant to be offensive). You can of course, but then you have to remove several hundred notices of starting and ending dates throughout European airport articles as about only five percent of them have inline citations available. The simple problem is that the only valid source is in fact lufthansa.com and it's official schedule but it is IMPOSSIBLBE to make a inline citation to the result of the booking engine as the site doesn't generate usable links for it. Thats why most notices haven't got inline citations and secondary sources like airlineroute.net are considered to be not allowed - so we set the date and the link to the booking site in the summary so everybody can validate it.
Whole different story: I removed some content a few hours ago you added on Belle Air but this was not my goal. We have a problem with persistent vandalism there as seen from the history and the whole editing and undoing caused a mess. Thank you, that's very good to know and will be very helpful in the future. As I said it is a problem to link search results on airline websites as many of them don't support reusable links when searching for specific dates or routes and that's why so many inline citations are missing. Also many changes lack a press release or other valid sources. I don't want to add false information here or do any damage and I spent hundreds of hours here in the last years to improve articles and update information based on valid sources but no one ever told me it is inacceptable as you did as I always found hidden notices to the source website in combination with the summary the best way for integrating primary sources that can't be linked directly. --84.156.63.100 (talk) 18:12, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

Let's see... Gor Orvakhovitsa pointed to Gorna Oryahovitsa. I changed the name to... Gorna Oryahovitsa. How could this be wrong? On the other hand, if you have any sources proving that Gorna Oryahovitsa has even been called Gor Orvakhovitsa, I'd like to see them. Same with Stara Zagoran and Stara Zagora. About Ruschuk and Philipopolis - again, I changed the names to match the pointed articles. Unlike Gor Orvakhovitsa and Stara Zagoran these are real names of the cities. However, they are old, from before planes were invented.

It's simple. Almost all the content should be backed by reliable sources, which means that sources should support what is written at every article. What you did was either to remove piped links or to replace redirects. By doing that, you introduced original research which, in plain words, means the source provided no longer supports the content in a direct fashion. KLM does have traffic rights between EZE and SCL beginning Feb 3, 2014

The flights are now loaded and for sale (for the last two weeks or so) in Amadeus, Sabre, etc., computer systems used by the travel industry to book flights. Furthermore, KLM also has filed tariffs for the EZE-SCL route (also accessibly in Amadeus, Sabre, etc.). The flights can only be loaded and tariffs filed if KLM had the traffic rights. A cursory look at the KLM website (or Expedia, Travelocity, etc.) would also have shown you that the flights are for sale (and hence traffic rights granted). Racist? how? did I post any hate against Serbia or Air Serbia, I have been helping improve that article inline with wiki rules leaving a summary when required, what I did was remove some politically slanted rant at Turkey because Air Serbia did not get any slots at Ataturk airport, which was so not needed in that article, also keep remiving unecessaru =y wording and repeated use of some words. I actually read it, and that was the last activity from 93.86.XXX.XXX, on 30 December. What I did was to template them with a level-one warning, which is standard practise. The other user, who placed a more agressive message at your talk page, was blocked by an admin almost immediately. All you have to do is just keeping up your work. Jet Airways to JFK

I am having a problem. Etihad is adding an extra flight from AUH to JFK (http://www.etihad.com/en-us/about-us/news/archive/2014/etihad-airways-to-double-flights-to-new-york/). It states that from May 1, 2014, flights will be operated by Jet Airways (Etihad will operate the flights from 1 March 2014). Dear sir. You should have read the rest of the paragraph on RAF Langford Lodge before reverting the change I made. If you had you would have noticed that, just two lines above this reference, there is an inline ref pointing to "Langford Lodge Airport" with a redirect to RAF Langford Lodge which clearly explains the airfield is in the hands of "RLC (UK) a subsidiary of RLC Engineering Group which is head quartered in the Isle of Man." Therefore the term "private (ex-military)" needs no further explanation or citation. Unfortunately, I've reverted your latest changes again ([3]), as they go against WP:VERIFY, a core content policy. The changes you made are not included in the companion reference, i.e. nowhere in that source it is said that the airfield the aircraft landed at was private. Maybe you should re-read the core content policies (WP:VERIFY in particular) before making such changes again, either to this article or to any other. BTW, you should sign your posts. Actually, it's probably not - but the standard definition of vandalism is intentionally non-specific: if the templates are being removed in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia, then it's vandalism by definition. @Yunshui: Thanks Yunshui, very kind of you. The link you provided first does not mention that the removal of more general maintenance templates (such as {{morerefs}}) is vandalism. I think I've placed the template at London Heathrow Airport some time ago but it was removed. The problem is that the table for airlines and destinations has a number of unsourced entries. I tried to removed them one by one and warn the user(s) that added them, but I couldn't due to intermediate edits. I don't want to tagbomb the table either, so I placed the template again. In that case, I'd suggest a (polite!) reminder to the other user that maintenance templates are there to encourage improvements to the article, and that they are very welcome to remove the template once they've addressed the issues it raises.   • LV-CSD stored since 02.11.2013 (planefinder)
  • LV-CSF stored since 28.01.2014 (planefinder)
  • LV-CEK stored since 13.10.2013 (planefinder)

My apologies. I didn't realize 1) that I forgot to fill the "Edit summary" field with my sources, 2) that I just got a new IP address. Furthermore, I made a mistake: LV-BMT had indeed left the fleet, but LV-FPU joined it in the end of 2013. So there are still 8 A340-300 in the fleet.
About LV-CSD and LV-CSF, they seems unused since Aerolineas Argentinas received their A330-200's. As my english is not perfect, I don't know if an unused aircraft can be considered as "stored". If not, then ok.
Otherwise, why do you consider that Planespotters & Planefinder are not reliable sources? Less than Aerotransport, for example? In my experience, none of them all (including ch-aviation or airliners.net) is perfectly and always right and updated. From time to time, one of them is more accurate and correct, and the next time it's another. I don't think you can trust aerotransport more just because it's a paid site. You don't need to apologise. Yes, I have to concur with you that all the sources you mention are at the same level of reliability to such an extent that the discussion has never been closed at WT:AIRLINES. Ideally, the best source for any fleet is the airline's website. Quite simply, you have no case. Two of the changes (the ones changing was to is) reflected consensus on the article's Talk page (and BLP policy) that in the absence of citable evidence that Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 and its passengers and crew no longer exist, they should be referred to in the present tense. In addition, see WP:EW. You cannot possibly make a case for edit warring by showing only a single instance of each edit; see the definition of edit warring. Boeing 747-8 article

An editor is not letting mention worthy information in that article and keeps deleting it, some operators that are flying 748F in their branding are not being allowed to be named, nor are identified VIP operators of the BBJ version, so if someone spots a BA cargo 748 and checks at wiki its not listed in there, that's kind of odd. Also the article is missing information on cancelled orders by three companies Arik air, Emirates cargo/DAE and Guggenheim aviation, yet mentions Emirates and British Airways having considered the type initially, so firm orders cancelled or converted to another type is not worth a mention and is deleted, but something that was looked at as a possibility but never materialised is worthy of being in there.

My issue is with the fact that this is an article on a specific model, the last version of one of the most iconic aircrafts in history, so why cant every bit of relevant information be there referenced and mentioned as briefly as possible, why should we find info elsewhere and wonder why its not on Wikipedia, why do we have to look elsewhere to begin with when wiki should have jsut about all that matters and then we extend our search for more detailed info from there. 115.167.89.134 (talk) 03:54, 13 March 2014 (UTC)

And although that crash had been the first mid-air collision between commercial aircraft since 1979, that info is not that relevant anymore because there was another very similar crash in 2007, and we should mention both accidents.
