Speedy deletion of Tang Bi-a
A tag has been placed on Tang Bi-a requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Sanyi, Miaoli
I understood that the style of carving was called 台灣木雕王國. You indicated that the township was called that. Then wouldn't the translation then be "woodcarving kingdom of Taiwan", and not referring to the historic period (Kingdom of Taiwan) at all? Also, I am not sure about the word mudiao at all. It was originally used by a Taiwanese/Mandarin speaker whose English was not very good, who said that they had used a phonetic transcription for mudiao because they couldn't translate it. I don't speak either Taiwanese or Mandarin, but based on the characters, it looked like it just means wood carving. --Bejnar (talk) 16:01, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Jerrch. I put an article you edited previously (Japan-Taiwan relations) back to its correct name - someone had put ROC in instead. As I explained on the talk page, as Japan has no relations with the ROC it is best to use the word "Taiwan". You seem to be a person with a strong interest in Taiwan, so I'm guessing you know something about Frank Hsieh. His article has been the subject of quite a bit of POV pushing (as can be expected during an election year). If you don't mind could you help keep an eye on it? The reason why the bot tagged it as invalid is because:
- Fair use images can only be used in articles
- Each and every single article needs an individual rationale
- These images cannot be used in templates, userpages or anywhere else that's not an article.

Off topic...
Hey I just realized some thing...someone could interpret why Ma Ying-jeou's name is Ma Ying-jeou: He was born in a Kowloon hospital in Hong Kong right? Well the Ying is the same as the Chinese word for english and he was born on British soil. and Jeou is nine and Kowloon translates from Cantonese as "nine dragons". So essentially, one could theorize that Ma's name is basically referring to where he was born. Interesting, eh? nat.utoronto 04:50, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Project Directory
The new draft of the directory has been getting prepared for some time now by me in userspace. So far as I can tell, you are referring only to one page, the Asia page. The Africa and Europe pages have already been done, although you haven't seemed to have minded that. It should be noted that the new draft of the directory is being made in accord with repeated requests on the WikiProject Council talk page to make the structure of the directory more consistent with the categorization used elsewhere. The reason some of the sections is short is because I am finally trying to get the draft version out there, given that several other projects have been created since the directory was first established without being added to it. Other projects, such as national projects, will often have accompanying military history, history, governmental, or ethnic projects. Personally, though, I'm less sure about some of them, so haven't been quite as inclusive there, although I've kept separate headings in the event that they are added. This is particularly true with the recently created projects. Also, particularly regarding the geographic directories, I tried to make sure that every location basically either independently recognized as an independent state/autonomous region or considered such by the editors who work on that content is listed separately, with redirect links installed where appropriate.
Regarding your question, personally, I could reasonably ask the same of you. Your reversion completely removed several active projects from the directory, which I think probably is, if anything, worse. The reason some of the links are red is because there are going to be changes in the names of subpages, and actually creation of a few new ones, and the links are to the pages as they will exist when everything is finished, hopefully in no more than a week or two. Right now, I am going through page by page to ensure that the projects are only fully listed in their most important single appearance. Right now, I'm working on the Americas page, and that should leave only one Geography page remaining. The rest should probably be rather quicker. You are of course free to make any changes you want in terms of adding additional projects to various sections, but there has been basic discussion regarding how to list most of the geographic projects already elsewhere, and I think it might be a bad idea to change the listing that, for the most part, the projects themselves requested. - They could benefit from more organization. Part of the problem I'm facing is what to do with the various "media of area X" projects, as well as the new Military history and television task forces that have been created. Many of these deal with subjects which have an international basis, and it's going to be difficult to determine where all to place them. As soon as I'm finished transferring all the pages from my draft directory, though, I'm going to post several notices about the new revisions and ask everyone to have a go at it.
