Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Chilean Antarctic Territory, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Territory. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Re: Why did you reverted my changes?[edit]

Hi. I quoted MOS:INFOBOXFLAG in the edit summary, which was supposed to give you a hint: it says, Generally, flag icons should not be used in infoboxes, even when there is a "country", "nationality" or equivalent field: they are unnecessarily distracting and give undue prominence to one field among many. Flag icons should only be inserted in infoboxes in those cases where they convey information in addition to the text. Flag icons are visually distracting in infoboxes and lead to unnecessary disputes when over-used..
I don't think your flags carry any additional information, and I do find them visually distracting indeed. Your other changes were fine, so I left them in. No such user (talk) 07:14, 27 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

And I'm sad to see that you continued to do the same across hundreds of articles, despite clear rules to the contrary. No such user (talk) 11:12, 27 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No such user The idea comes from the spanish wikipedia, all that articles in spanish have the flag icon, and i throght that the english article was uncomplete, also i thougt that the article looks better with the flag, because show you the flag of the region and country and, for me looks better, also is there a rule in theenglish wikipedia that i didn't know and other articles already had the flag, for me was more colorful and profetional. --Janitoalevic (talk) 19:51, 27 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No such user also i didn't saw your note MOS:INFOBOXFLAG before, also i throght that i was contributing to the articles, to make them look like the spanish ones, and there already were some articles with flag icons in the english Wikipedia like this one link, for me wasn't bad, also would be better if the block would be not forever because i was contributing to articles like Chilean Antarctic Territory and other ones, i was going to create one of a book, also i know now about that the flag icons are not allowed :/, hmmm i invested a lot of work in the Chilean Antarctic Territory and now i'm banned because of putting flag icons, i was trying to make them similar to the spanish ones, i didn't know about the rule, i know now about the rule, please only ban me for limited time, i plan to contribuite more in wikipedia. --Janitoalevic (talk) 20:02, 27 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No such user and why in other articles they can use flag icons like in this one? --Janitoalevic (talk) 20:27, 27 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I think the block was result of a misunderstanding. I'll ask the administrator to lift it.
It is possible that flags still do exist in some infoboxes; not all editors are aware of the rule, which was introduced about 2 years ago. I've just removed it from Moscow (actually, from the template {{Infobox Russian federal subject}}, but it was not in e.g. {{Infobox Russian city}}). They should be removed case by case. My apologies for blocking you since you behaved similarly to a indefinitely blocked user. I was proven wrong, and I have unblocked you. Please be careful with the flags though.--Ymblanter (talk) 19:32, 28 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No such user Ymblanter Ok thanks for unblocking me, i'm contributing to chilean articles, also i have a solution to remove the flag icons that i made, editing the templates removing the flags.

A page you started (Antarctandes) has been reviewed![edit]

Thanks for creating Antarctandes, Janitoalevic!

Wikipedia editor Damibaru just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

Great! Needs refs. Are there any pictures pd of the Antarctandes? Personally, I think one would be more interesting than the current map... Cheers
