PIT-SFO route[edit]
Hi JamesRenard, since you seem to be a frequent editor of Pittsburgh International Airport, I was wondering what you think about the United route between Pittsburgh and San Francisco? One particular user consistently changes this to a seasonal route without providing a valid source to verify their "opinion" and I don't want to get into an edit war with this person. I believe a message should probably be sent to this user on their talk page and if they further keep reverting edits, they should be reported for vandalism. Let me know your thoughts. *AirportUpdater*, thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately the IP user doesn't appear to have a talk page, so we can't send them a message.
According to both United's timetables and Google Flights the PIT-SFO route is year-round. I remember last year that the flights were also scheduled to run year-round into early 2017, but they were then cut for two months over the winter along with the AA flights to Boston. We don't know for certain that the flights to SFO will be cut this time round though, so I believe it should be kept as year-round.
The user had removed Newark (EWR) and Houston (IAH) from United Airlines with the reason they weren't being served by mainline flights. This is more of a grey area, since they'd both been served by UA mainline within the past year: EWR was served from March 10th, 2017 to April 1st, 2017 and IAH was served from June 12th, 2016 to August 14, 2016.
I think IAH can stay gone - it doesn't look like it's going to resume in the next few months, but I'm not sure what should be done with EWR. I don't believe a 2 month hiatus is long enough for a route to be called seasonal AND Pittsburgh's website as well as United's shows this flight as year round. And yes, they currently don't show the break during those months yet so we can't be sure it will even occur this year. I have also started a discussion on WP:Airports regarding this issue under another similar section to this. I will wait till some responses come in on that page before action is taken with the IP user. Now about the IAH and EWR routes on mainline, those have always been very scattered about throughout the year and we don't know if they'll even return. Those should probably just be taken off of the United mainline section altogether for now. But again, the SFO flight should be there under year round in my opinion.
