December 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Alexander the Great, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. A Macedonian, a Greek. I hope this was a parody, or a sarcastic comment on Balkan politics. In case you were serious, I must suggest you pick a less childish username and try to observe other editors for a while to get a basic idea of how Wikipedia works. --dab (𒁳) 09:59, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, Alexander the Great was Greek...[edit]

...and it's been downhill all the way since. Now Greece belongs to Hans the medicore, German taxpayer.

P.S. Stop being a nuisance, eh?

I thought old Alex was Macedonian. Be that as it may, was he really that great? I mean, like, did he ever get his picture on a bubble gum card? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 23:55, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes Baseball Bugs, Alexander was and still is Macedonian, but not the "Macedonian" that people associate with the people of FYROM, he was a ancient macedonian who were a ancient Greek people of the Doric ethnos. Not a former Yugoslav. Hope that answers your question and about the bubble gum card?

Also, Egg Centric, this is wikipedia, not a place for people to gather over the internet and make unnecisary comments. Keep it profesional. Alexander the great is greek (talk) 00:03, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

So at this point I must quote the eminent historian Lucy Van Pelt, who once said, "How can you say someone is great who was never on bubble gum cards?" ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 00:12, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good chap[edit]

Welcome to wikipedia

Seriously, I'm glad you're going to make a good start of it. A lot of editors started out here being a bit naughty. Your willingness to abide by the community determined rules is a great omen. Please enjoy the rest of your time here and if you have any trouble don't hesitate to ask me for advice! Egg Centric 23:53, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

August 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikpedia! Although everyone is welcomed here, please, do delete reliable information to articles. Your edits appear to be unconstructive and have been reverted or removed. If you believe the information you deleted was not correct, please cite reliable references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Jingiby (talk) 05:25, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit-warring on Hellenic languages is unacceptable.

In a 2007 arbitration case, administrators were given the power to impose discretionary sanctions on any user editing Balkans-related articles in a disruptive way. If you engage in further inappropriate behaviour in this area, you may be placed under sanctions including blocks, a revert limitation or an article/topic ban. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 06:49, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Inapprpriate behavior? Please do explain this inappropriate behavior and do explain why in your eyes you find it that way. I want a neutral explenation not a biased.Itisonlyone (talk) 06:54, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

First, there is an ongoing edit war on the article in question, and one unregistered editor (using an IP address instead of an account) has already been blocked for a week for repeatedly going back and forth with other editors with the exact same material which you attempted to reinsert just now. It cannot be emphasized too strongly that edit warring is not acceptable on Wikipedia, even if you are convinced that you are right and other editors are wrong. And when an edit war is already in progress, it is generally not a good idea to jump in and carry on where another, blocked editor has left off.
As for the material and sources in question, at least one of the proposed sources (the "open letter" to President Obama) is clearly an opinion piece and cannot be used as an unbiased reliable source. Wikipedia's "neutral point of view" policy requires us to present, "fairly, proportionately, and as far as possible without bias, all significant views that have been published by reliable sources." This particular source might be usable in a discussion of the various political views surrounding Macedonia (in all its various meanings), but it can not fairly be used in the manner in which you and the IP's are proposing to use it here.
I would further call your attention to the Arbitration Committee's decision (see WP:ARBMAC) in which all articles relating to the Balkans have been placed under special scrutiny. This is not a subject area where you, or anyone, would want to be seen as actively participating in, or perpetuating, an edit war or other disruptive editing. I would strongly urge you to step back from the article itself, and instead expend your efforts on a calm and reasoned discussion on the article's talk page. If you find you are simply too close to the subject and cannot discuss it in a reasoned and civil fashion with people who may disagree with you, you might be better off going to other subject areas on Wikipedia where you can contribute in an appropriate way. — Richwales 07:12, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I thank you Richwales, for your explaination of my concern. Your contributon will be most valid to me as I continue to edit on Wikipedia, but I was hoping to hear from Future Perfect at Sunrise to hear his views on the matter as he is the one who has posted the " edit war warning"
