December 2008[edit]

Please do not add hoaxes to Wikipedia, such as you did in the article ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation. Hoaxes are caught and marked for deletion shortly after they are created. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method is to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia – and then to correct them if possible. Please don't disrupt Wikipedia in an attempt to test our ability to detect and remove such material. Feel free to take a look at the five pillars of Wikipedia policy to learn more about this project and how you can make a positive impact. Thank you. -danngarcia (talk) 22:34, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problems with File:Dmia ups.jpg[edit]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, File:Dmia ups.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). As a copyright violation, File:Dmia ups.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:Dmia ups.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at [[Talk:File:Dmia ups.jpg]] and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at [[Talk:File:Dmia ups.jpg]] with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on [[Talk:File:Dmia ups.jpg]].

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 18:28, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You did not take those photos, you just found them online in various locations. Simply being online is not enough to put a file into the public domain for your use. In most of the deletion summaries, I specified the original source where I found the images. Also, Flickr photos are not all compatible with Wikipedia's licensing either - you need to make sure they are released under a Creative Commons license with no restrictions. January 2011[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to List of programs broadcast by ABS-CBN. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Don't use Multiply as a primary source since as per WP:EL, it can be considered as spam. Find a more reliable source for those "upcoming" shows. -WayKurat (talk) 15:40, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Asia-Pacific Song Contest 2009. Since you had some involvement with the Asia-Pacific Song Contest 2009 redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so.
