Image copyright problem with Image:112801723_08aa598101_m.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:112801723_08aa598101_m.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Good morning Hovic or should I say Ṣabaḥ al-Khayr or maybe Voghdzuyin (I take it you're of Armenian heritage)? OK, enough bragging and showing off my language skills. Thanks a lot for your encouraging words and comments. I am sorry for not attributing the images to you.

I visited your Flickr account, but I was surprised to find that access to images was recently blocked by the CITC, just another step backwards in here. I tried checking your blog, and both images linked from Flickr and blogspot were blocked, meh! I can credit the images to your blog if you would kindly tell me exactly which images are those taken from your blog.

On a side note, you did release them under the Creative Commons licenses, right? If you didn't, it would be really helpful if you share your photos and allow usage for the public under the CC license, preferably Sharealike. You can clarify that in your blog and Flickr. ← ANAS Talk? 08:18, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. I don't understand why you have cleared my talk page of your message. It's perfectly normal; I'm restoring it for archival reasons if you don't mind. Anyways, I was able to find out which image it was through some craftiness and Google image search. I believe it was Image:St-georges1.jpg. Correct me if I'm wrong. I have attributed it to your blog. By the way, I spend my summer in Aleppo, where part of my family live, in the Suleimaniyah part of the city. Love that place. :-) Drop a message if you need my help and have a great day Hovic. ← ANAS Talk? 08:41, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Other castles[edit]

Thanks for your suggestions. I will try writing about these historical sites. What stands in my way is that, unfortunately, Syrian history and information in general is not well-published on the internet, which makes it very difficult for me to research these subjects. The libraries are not easy to reach in Riyadh, where I'm living currently.

Concerning the pictures in your blog, it would be of great help if you clearly state that you release your images under the Creative Commons Attribution Sharealike 2.5 license in your blog. This will allow others, including me, to legally use these images in third-party sites, like here, as long as you are fully attributed (credited) for these images.

The mirror sites worked for the images that were uploaded on the blog, thanks! What a great collection you got there! I've always believed that Syria's places, nature, and historical sites are incredibly under appreciated. It's a shame that I can't browse through your photos since I'm on dial-up. Internet service is pathetic in here.

Wikipedia is not difficult to use. You don't really need HTML skills to edit here, it's fairly simple. Wikipedia has very few Syrian editors. You seem like you know a lot about Syrian places. Perhaps you can help in expanding List of cities in Syria and the like. By the way, you can, should actually, sign your comments and messages using four tildes - ~~~~ or by using the signature button in the edit panel, which will leave your signature and date. Cheers! ← ANAS Talk? 14:26, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Images..[edit]

That should do it. Thanks a lot! That will definitely be a great help. Much appreciated, thanks again Hovic. Good luck with your travels and happy editing. :-) ← ANAS Talk? 11:32, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, great. I think you'll be a great help with your images. :-) See you around. - Anas Talk? 13:23, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Aleika.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 23:35, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Your ArbCom Vote[edit]

Thanks for your interest in this year's ArbCom elections. Unfortunately, we were required to set a criteria for voters, and that was decided to be the following:

  • Voters must have a registered account that was created on or before November 1, 2008.
  • Voters must have made 150 edits to articles on that account on or before November 1, 2008.

According to an automatic check, which I confirmed by looking at your contribution history, you have not met the requirements. Either you have not made 150 edits to articles (these edits must be in the main namespace) or you did not make them before the deadline of 23:59:59 November 1, 2008 (UTC). I've indented your votes. If you believe I sent this message in error, and that you do meet the requirements, please let me know on my talk page. Thanks, ST47 (talk) 11:49, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

help![edit]

Hello, I don't know who I should speak to about this important matter. The Golan article has been taking over by Israelis and they have removed everything mentioning an occupation and changed it to "disputed" They have also removed the "the neutrality of this article is disputed" that was on top of the article while it is written in a completely pro-Israeli way. Please do something about this! —Preceding unsigned comment added by SwedishArab (talkcontribs) 19:55, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Baniqahtan.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 18:13, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
