May 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Jcmcc450. I noticed that you recently removed content from Canning without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Names of towns[edit]

Hi and thank you for your contributions. I've noticed that you've renamed quite a few articles where the new titles seem to be completely unrelated to the old ones. Here are a few examples:

What's going on there? Have the towns themselves been renamed? – Uanfala (talk) 07:31, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

STOP[edit]

If you wish to create articles about new villages/towns, you need to create a new article. What you're doing currently is to hijack a current article and move it to a new name, which is not acceptable.~ Winged BladesGodric 07:38, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Netra, Canning requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Stop! indeed[edit]

You moved Sonakhali, South 24 Parganas to Hariharpur, Baruipur and converted it into a page about Hariharpur. Then you blanked the page at Sonakhali, South 24 Parganas. Do you think that the page about Sonakhali has no right to exist? Please reply. You have done exactly the same thing to numerous articles about villages in India. It is perfectly OK to copy one article to use as a template for a new article but to do a move is unambiguous disruptive editing. I have blocked you indefinitely but I am willing to remove the block as soon as you provide an assurance that you understand that what you have been doing is wrong and will not be repeated. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:46, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I did something wrong and it won't happen again. So please unblock my account as soon as possible.

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 10:51, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You need to write in a clear manner about the something that was wrong and how do you plan to prevent it from happening again.~ Winged BladesGodric 10:49, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am willing to remove block but user must request it

Decline reason:

You have not addressed the issues of blanking and moving. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 20:19, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@RHaworth: This is all quite strange to me, though I think the user is requesting "it" if you are still willing.-- Dlohcierekim (talk) 20:15, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Quite confusing. I am declining the request.-- Dlohcierekim (talk) 20:16, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Guddu, please:

  • Confirm that you understand that your edits caused the article at Sonakhali, South 24 Parganas to be deleted
  • Answer my question: do you think that the page about Sonakhali has no right to exist?
  • Promise that you will never move any article ever again
  • Describe the first edits you propose to do if you are unblocked.

Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Guddu Banerjee, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
