Recent edit to Dolby noise-reduction system[edit]

The edit describes a perfectly logical, measurable and audible benefit directly relating to the explanation given by someone else in the preceding paragraph which also has no reference but was accepted. Am I also expected to provide references for the work of others? So much of the content on that page is at least mildly inaccurate or just downright wrong, but providing acceptably legitimate references to prove this is no easy matter as nearly all of the required information pre-dates the Internet. I'll just leave it as it is from now on, but it's a shame to see potentially billions of people worldwide being misled. Gruntsplat (talk) 17:04, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Gruntsplat--thanks for your message. Regarding your comment regarding other content on the page being "unacceptable," see Wikipedia:Other_stuff_exists. You're more than welcome to rewrite that content. However, regarding my revert here, the main point of concern there was verifying that the information is, in fact, correct. I tried looking through some of the sources and doing a bit of research, but, as you alluded to, the references seem to be lacking. Do you have a source to support the information you tried to add? I'd be more than happy to help you include that information in the article with a source.
