An Invite to join Saskatchewan WikiProject[edit]

Hi, you are graciously extended an invitation to join the Saskatchewan WikiProject! The Saskatchewan WikiProject is a fairly new WikiProject. We are a group of editors who are dedicated to creating, revising, and expanding articles, lists, categories, and Wikiprojects, to do with anything Saskatchewan.

As you have shown an interest in The French Counts of St Hubert, Saskatchewan we thought you might like to take an interest in this growing WikiProject.
Please assist with any ongoing requests
You might like to take an extra interest in our To Do list
Another project dedicated to Saskatchewan is the Saskatchewan Roads and Highways Wikiproject
Also, a descendant project for Saskatchewan is the WikiProject Saskatchewan Communities & Neighbourhoods
We look forward to welcoming you to the project! SriMesh | talk 01:22, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was puttering at Whitewood, Saskatchewan along with Masalai, and found your contributions at The French Counts of St Hubert, Saskatchewan! Wow!!! and Wow!!! Keep up the wonderful work.

The Exceptional Newcomer Award
I SriMesh do herby acknowledge your excellent contributions to Saskatchewan placenames and historical related articles as shown in The French Counts of St Hubert, Saskatchewan. Good work

Kind Regards SriMesh | talk 01:27, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is very exciting for me to learn about the history of Saskatchewan as it is spread far and wide, and there were unique histories of the several ethnic bloc and other settlements, trying out various ideas from their weveral homelands. I had previously heard of la Rolanderie ranch, but not the rich diversity you presented in the article. And I had heard of other settlements such as Cannington Manor and the East London Artisans which were more aristocratic type settlements compared to some of the others. Adoption / Assistance[edit]

Hi there.. you recently popped a note on my page requesting some help with wikipedia....I would surely love to answer any questions that may have arisen for you.... and will also advise you to use my email - on my talk page - so you can contact me more directly as well. Your varied interests will surely be an asset to several fields of articles on wikipedia once you get going. SriMesh | talk 02:41, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Gating,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, PENT, may be copied from http://www.brandonu.ca/pent/. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 00:36, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome![edit]

Hi Gating, I see you have already welcomed your teammates in the WikiSOO class to Wikipedia. Great! I am glad to see an experienced Wikipedian in the class. If you attend the lab sessions, perhaps you would like to help answer some of the questions that come up? I think it is very helpful for the new students to hear from a variety of experienced Wikipedians, so I am always glad to have more experienced students chime in. Welcome to the class! -Pete (talk) 06:44, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, WikiPie teammate! Echoing Peter's idea, I for one would like to hear about your experience in the course lab session. --Litjade 22:12, 18 May 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Litjade (talkcontribs)
Thanks for your note! I hope too see you in today's class. -Pete (talk) 23:07, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of First Nations Seeker for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article First Nations Seeker is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/First Nations Seeker until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:14, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Burba Badge[edit]

Hi Gating, you asked about the article Epistemology of Wikipedia and the WIKISOO Burba Badge. I did not see a formal submission for the badge here: http://badges.p2pu.org/en/badge/view/22/ So I am sorry to say I did not review your article in depth. I will gladly take a closer look at it in the coming days. I should note, the badge requires 200 edits to Wikipedia; you are getting close, but are not quite there, with 154. (To find that link to your edit count, click "contributions" in the upper right; then scroll to the bottom of the page and click "edit count.") We did cover these things, but perhaps only in the lab session; my apologies that I did not make them clearer before! I will update the relevant pages here (mainly WP:WIKISOO/Final project) accordingly, so hopefully others will not have the same problem. -Pete (talk) 19:48, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Moving your note[edit]

Hi Glen! I found your account! :) I see you left a note on Orangeabundance's Talk page just now. I'd suggesting moving it over to the main talk page for the class, at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:School_of_Open_course - you can also type wt:wikisoo into the search box to get there faster. That way more people will see it! (I only got notified as I had just posted on her page myself.) Keep this discuss in the public eye, it's fascinating! - Sara FB (talk) 21:22, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gating-- I boldly redirected your article, Outline of open education to Open education, as it seems like it might be better to improve the article there rather than make a new one outlining the concept. If you need to see the contents of what you wrote, you can find that here for reference. I, JethroBT drop me a line 16:14, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If taking the course in self-paced mode, please come say hello on the course talk page so we know who you are! Thanks for signing up, and we'll see you Tuesday! - Pete (talk) 06:16, 24 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Third time around in WIKISOO with Pete and Sara[edit]

I love this class and not sure if I ever want to graduate in the sense that I will have learned it all and won't be coming back. I hope to connect with more people and continue to develop my capacity to edit Wikipedia and to contribute to the body of human knowledge. ggatin (talk) 01:48, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Second WIKISOO class starts soon![edit]

Disambiguation link notification for March 18[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Osnaburg, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page S. (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

This is when things get exciting. :) Looking forward to seeing you in class! - Sara FB (talk) 23:44, 24 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article The French Counts of St Hubert, Saskatchewan you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. Week 6 of WIKISOO[edit]

Hi Gating! Just checking in as we head into the final week of the Writing Wikipedia Articles class. You can look through last week's ether pad notes, check out your homework assignments from Week 5, and watch last week's lecture on YouTube - all right here. Check out my note from last week (above) if you're still diving into your Final Project... or head over to the course talk page to see if anyone else is having the same issues you are! Looking forward to seeing you in the last live webinar of the session tomorrow. Big WikiLove. -Sara FB (talk) 23:25, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

OER inquiry[edit]

Hi Gating, I'm sending you this message because you're one of about 300 users who have recently edited an article in the umbrella category of open educational resources (OER) (or open education). In evaluating several projects we've been working on (e.g. the WIKISOO course and WikiProject Open), my colleague Pete Forsyth and I have wondered who chooses to edit OER-related articles and why. Regardless of whether you've taken the WIKISOO course yourself - and/or never even heard the term OER before - we'd be extremely grateful for your participation in this brief, anonymous survey before 27 April. No personal data is being collected. If you have any ideas or questions, please get in touch. My talk page awaits. Thanks for your support! - Sara FB (talk) 20:40, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 16[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Epistemology of Wikipedia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Constructionism. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A tag has been placed on *constructionism requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Stefan2 (talk) 13:32, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Three Metre Day requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
