The following is a link to the Encylopedia Britannica page for Mayan heiroglyphics. In the art of my friends who are artists, these are used as a base for batic "paintings" on both silk and cotton. They are then

  • painted with cloth dye and metallic fabric paint
  • covered with wax
  • then painted over and over

After these steps, the wax is ironed off between layers of paper towels and aluminum foil. The wax melts into the paper towels, leaving the layers of color in the fabric.

This amazing art piece is based on these drawings made centuries ago, found in the Encyclopedia Britannica

Books of the Bible Riddle[edit]

I was given this paragraph by my father. It is an paragraph of no meaning other than that it contains 15 hidden names of the Books of the Bible.

It took me a while to find them. So I brought them to Wiki to do a search to see if that would help. !!!

For other who like riddles, here is the poem from my father. Natural father, not catholic father. Just to clear that up.

"Once I made a remark about the hidden books of the bible. It was lulu. Kept some people looking so hard for the facts and studying for the revalations they were in a jam, especially since the names of the books were not capitalized. The truth finally occurred to numbers of the readers, but to others it was a slow job. We wanted it to be a most fascinating few minutes for you. Yes, there are some that are easy to spot, but others require judges to determine. We must admit it usually takes at least a minute to find one, and there will be loud lamentations when a person failed to find more than a few of them. One lady says each day while she brews her coffee, she searches for missing books"

For those who like riddles, this was a fun one.
