James Bond: The Authorized Biography of 007

I don't own the book, but I'll endeavour to get the exact quote for you and see if it will fit into the article.
I'm fairly sure it was a Bond film though it doesn't specifically state YOLT. According to his autobio, Richard Todd was working on producing a version of Fleming's The Diamond Smugglers but though he had the rights he ran into all sorts of problems (he doesn't specifically say so but methinks it was problmes with litigation happy Eon), so it's news to me that Amis would have done a screenplay for that project.
It sounds logical that Amis was approached to submit a screenplay for YOLT (my crank theory is that Maibaum was "unavailable" as his screenplay for OHMSS wasn't going to be produced) as he was in the media as a Bond defender at the time. In something I read years ago Dahl or someone high in Eon commented on one of the previous screenplays for YOLT that had Ninjas running wild in Japan. As HJ Bloom didn't mention that I'm wondering if that was from Amis' rejected screenplay. Don't forget that Anthony Burgess was approached and submitted an unused screenplay for TSWLM.Foofbun (talk) 22:20, 30 December 2012 (UTC)

Boyd's Bond
I'm going to start the beginnings of an article in my litter tray so we have something we can drop into the main space once the title has been unveiled. If you've got anything to add, please feel free to join in! As it's user space we can be a little free and easy with the refs (i've dropped your date etc in there already) as we can sort these out later with something more reliable and concrete. New thriller project
I started working on the H. C. McNeile article recently. It's a slight struggle with a lack of biographical information that is available (no biographies have been written and his obituaries are very much on the slim side). Dalton

- Good catch. Unfortunate conundrum. I personally dislike seeing cable films listed as tv productions, when they're more at home with feature films, but then what do you do with miniseries? I'm leaning towards putting cable films in with theatrical releases. I think we may need to start a talk page discussion. Moreover, what's the correct spelling for his character's name: Bowden or Bowdern? IMDB spells it Bowden, but other sources spell it Bowdern. - Fanthrillers (talk) 00:23, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
- I think so - it's still a film, despite the medium. I'll have a search of the filmproject archives - I'm sure it must have been raised before. That table was beyond repair. If there are minor formatting problems, I usually can fix them. It looks like he tried to create a table, couldn't figure it out, and just gave up and walked away. Unfortunately I don't know anything about this documentary, and don't have access to the relevant archives. If you are interested however, I can contact Wikimedia Israel's GLAM representative and ask for help, but you'd be expected to do the research yourself, which could be difficult if you're not located in Israel. What do you think?

casino royale (1967 film) and mata hari edits
Hi, Fantr - thanks for the info. No editor told me why my edits were deleted. I marked my edits as "minor" because (to me) they are. I will not add my edits again as they are so minor. I must ask, though, WHY were my edits deleted? Mata Hari was killed in 1917 -- proven fact. In the 1967 movie CASINO ROYALE, it clearly states that Bond and Mata Hari had a daughter named Mata Bond. Mata Bond is played by a 25 year old actress, born in 1942. But Hari died in 1917, so the daughter would have had to be born BEFORE the mother's death, meaning before 1917, making the daughter at least 50. In the film, they say that the last time Mata Hari was at the spy school was in 1916, which fits in with her 1917 death. Also, with the atomic bomb edit, Dr. Noah clearly states his atomic bomb pill will destroy "the world" when it goes off. He swallows the pill, it goes off: hence, the earth is destroyed. These are not "my conclusions", just common sense facts. Anyway, I won't edit either page again. BTW, M isn't killed in the uncut film; he's taken prisoner by Dr. Noah. The scene in the opening credit for John Huston shows a clip of this scene. Photos from it (along with detailed write-ups about it) have appeared in several british magazines about spy films. - You need to look in the article history to see the reasons for the reason behind people's edits (see the tag near the top of the page "View history"). When I removed your edit the first time I left a note that it was unsourced. (Fantr has removed subsequent edits for largely the same reason). That was the most obvious if its sins. It's a piece of fiction, so the age of real life people portrayed is neither here nor there, it's ignored unless there is a good point for it. Similarly the lack of technology for the "flying saucer" or the world-destroying pill is glossed over, because its fiction. The only thing that could go into the article is your addition "Scenes featuring John Huston's "M" character as a prisoner of Dr. Noah were cut", because it's about the production of the film. if it goes in it needs to a) be in the right place; and b) be properly sourced from a reliable source. - SchroCat (talk) 05:25, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
Category:Abandoned films
Hi Fantr. I was trying to find a good parent category for Category:Abandoned film projects but realized that I'm not entirely sure it's needed or at least that it might not be the optimal way of classifying films and film projects that were abandoned somewhere along the way. Categories for discussion is not a good forum for discussing a system of interrelated categories (and besides, I'm not really sure what I'd recommend in a CfD) so I just initiated a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film. The comma that should come after Oxford in Wolfson College, Oxford, is the same as the comma that should come after South Wales in Bedwas, South Wales, when in the middle of a sentence. No comma comes afterwards when there are other punctuation marks, such as a full stop, colon, semi-colon or dash. See my reply to Spanglej on my talk page for more details. Hi, apologies for the late reply to your query about Orson Welles's unfinished films. A while back I overhauled the Orson Welles filmography, and so I think the section http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orson_Welles_filmography#Incomplete_films has everything that you're looking for. These are all the known Welles films for which some filming actually started. It doesn't include things like screen tests and filmed segments for stage plays - which is probably well outside the remit of your list! (A separate list of Welles screenplays that were never filmed would run to about forty or fifty films!) Hope that's helpful for your own list of unfinished films.
(Note that "Vienna", "The Merchant of Venice", and "One Man Band" [aka "London"], were all originally meant to be separate segments of one 90-minute TV special entitled "Orson's Bag", but have been completed as three separate short films ("Merchant" was completed by Welles, then partially stolen, and the other two were posthumously completed.). Correspondingly, most books list them as three separate films because they're unconnected apart from the editing style of "Vienna" and "London", but it does lead to some confusion!)
