Afd Page[edit]

I need to argue the page you mark for speedy deletion. I'm not sure why you did this as you dont appear to know anything about urban language - and I can prove this if neccessary.

Either way - I need to know where the AFD page is, as I am new to this site and want to contribute pages

deletion[edit]

why did you delete the page i was making about my father's lighting corporation? who gave you the right to be internet police?

i just mentioned that it was successful, and gave an external link to their website. shoot me for creating a "visionaire lighting" page on wikipedia.

thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Potatoeshank (talkcontribs)

do you honestly have nothing better to do? you even deleted my profile page. please, fang aili, try going outside and getting some fresh air and appreciating the immaturity of chasing down wikipedia users you don't like. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Potatoeshank (talkcontribs)

regardless, allow me to re-create the small tidbit of information about my father's company. it's not advertising; would you object to a page containing information about microsoft? i don't feel like i need to debate this with you, but plese, let it go. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Potatoeshank (talkcontribs)

visionaire lighting meets the set criteria, and if you wanted to do the correct amount of research you would understand the significance of their role in the multi-billion dollar international lighting industry.

thank you,

sam h.

thanks, dear. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Potatoeshank (talkcontribs)

I am not sure if you are an authority on Zimbabwean music, but you have just deleted a page on one of the most successful young Zimbabwean artistes, Ngonidzashe Kambarami (/Ngonie). Did you read it at all Fkwacsp 17:46, 20 October 2006 (UTC)fkwacsp[reply]

Motion Trio[edit]

Hi. You deleted Motion Trio ([http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log/delete&page=Motion_Trio deletion log). Why? They obviously pass all the notability criteria. Karol 12:21, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think that the article needs to actually say why it's subject is notable, if it is a stub. The notability of the subject is enough to warrant the article's existence, with the actual words coming later. Anyway, I added, hopefully, enough to satisfy your needs ;). New User & Post Reversion[edit]

Sorry for my tech issues!

The Ameriprise Financial's site has been "hijacked" by someone who keeps kicking out content about the company and adds only content about SEC issues...

I am a novice at editing the pages but see a huge change from the end of Sept's entries and one that was recently changed. I tried to edit today but it was revereted to the old way, I think I may have done it wrong. Please update accordingly.

The best version I can see is from: "Revision as of 21:36, 25 September 2006".

Thanks!

Why so delete-happy?[edit]

Why did you delete Kinesis Industry Co. Ltd.? This company is a vital manufacture for the bicycle industry. The article is linked to from several places. It wasn't even marked for deletion, as it just went up today. Leave bicycling industry related topics up to those who understand the industry, please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stainofmind (talkcontribs)

In response to the message you left for me on my talk page: The Kinesis page was not created "only to promote a company, product, or service". The page was created because Kinesis is very well known to bicycle enthusiasts, and is a vital record in eplaining the existance and similarities between brands that share Kinesis products. It is quite possibly the largest frame manufacturer in the world. -stainofmind

Michael Juan Nunez[edit]

He is listed on the swamp blues tag, I am trying to give more info on him. Why are you deleting it? He is on allmusic, he has been writen about in national magazines, he has down national touring, and is considered very respected by the swamp blues community. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cajunblue (talkcontribs)

Anne, 3rd Duchess of Hamilton[edit]

Bloodyhell that was a quick delete! I pressed the wrong phrase when uploading the image for this page so have now reinstated it. Piccie is owned by my family, and painted in 1679 by someone who died in 1723, of someone who died in 1716, so I think I kinda really have an angle on whether that image can be used on that page. Anyway keep up the good work, and happy hunting. ;-)Brendandh 21:45, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use uploads[edit]

Actually, if they are fair use uploads, they are not mine. All I do is make them small enough to be below the 300 X 300 threshold. I was not brave enough to figure out what the rationale of the original uploader was. Frankly, I find the whole fair use thing unbearably confusing. They seem too valuable and useful to delete out of hand, but the idea sure seems tempting.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I don't understand fair use well eonough to correctly tag images originally uploaded by others.Shrinking them seemed like a worthy goal, so that's what I did.

I get around my ignorance by using mostly images I create myself. The one exception is [[[Image:Largo, Florida Map Mar 6,1925.jpg]]], the image of a map I added to the Timeline of Largo history as User:Mikereichold. I scanned an image from a newspaper clipping in my local library's map collection. Hopefully, my rationale is sufficient, or the image would have to go. Thanks. Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 02:32, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, actually, the link is red and I can't figure it out. Anyway, if it's going to cause too much disruption, maybe I should just stop shrinking the fair use images. Wish I understood fair use better, but I keep going cross-eyed over it.Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 02:39, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What I find frustrating is I don't see any of the fair use ratinales as necessarily relevant. That's when I get frustrated, say , "just delte them all!" Then I feel bad because I love images and believe they realy improve the articles. If anyone could provide an expalnation I can understand . . . .Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 19:37, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just curious why you deleted the entry for the band Shy Child. Wikipedia is a good resource for music, the entry was objective, short, and non-promotional. Deleting new articles[edit]

I do not see your reason for doing this. There is a quite big list about browser based games in Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_multiplayer_browser_games ) so there must be the possibility to write new articles about such games (and the RumbleRace article was in no way more wooing than any other article you can find in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_multiplayer_browser_games )!

So if you delete RumbleRace articles or any other new articles about browser based games any longer please make sure to wipe all articles linked in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_multiplayer_browser_games ! ;-x

Esperanza Admin coaching - October 29[edit]

You are receiving this message because you are currently listed as a coach in the 'Active' section of the coaching box.

  • If the coaching has finished please add your trainee to the archived requests section of the archive, and remove the entry from the coaching box.
  • You can fill in information about your former students, at the main archive.
  • If the coaching is ongoing please continue :) This might serve as a useful reminder to check with your trainee if they have any new questions!
  • If you are ready to be assigned a new trainee, or have any other questions, please let me know on my talk page.

I've talked to Soumyasch, so if you have a word about arrangements then you're up started. Removing hundreds of pages from your watchlist[edit]

Hey Fang Aili!

I saw your message here, about how you removed tons of pages from your watchlist. It made me laugh, in part because... last week, I removed at least 6,000 pages from my watchlist. I realized:

a)It was causing me too much stress, and

b)There was no way I could successfully monitor 7,600 pages on my watchlist

I'm down to about 1,500 now, and even some of those will soon be gone. Don't stress yourself out; you're just too cool to cause yourself a heart attack! Where would we be without you?! :) Firsfron of Ronchester 05:08, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

First Article[edit]

Hey, I saw that no one has written an article about Adam Deitch, a very well known drummer in the jam band community who played with John Scofield, one of todays jazz guitar greats, for years, and recorded with tons of other popular acts. Several other articles had a dead link to him, so I figured I'd get one started. Is that not enough relevance?

Methodicalj 08:02, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings. I'm assuming good faith, but you deleted a historical photograph of a periscope rifle being used by it's inventor which I obtained as having been released into public records. I clearly noted that in it's description. I was wondering why you deleted it? I have re-uploaded the file and request that you do not delete it again as it is the first image used in the article in question. Jachin 15:21, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It was tagged as I3 because you didn't add any copyright or source tags. See WP:Images for more. You'll need to add tags on the image. --Fang Aili talk 15:24, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

None of the tags appropriately fit it, which is why I explained it's release in detail in the description. The only near viable tags are US oriented (ie: made by the us government) and thus are moot as it's Australian. What's the normal proceedure for that?  :/ Jachin 15:28, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

November Esperanza Newsletter[edit]

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

I uploaded the concerned image without fully understanding the Fair Use criteria. The image does not meet the first fair use rationale and should be deleted immediately. Thanks --Incman|वार्ता 20:42, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why the deletion![edit]

Why did you delete my images for Lolly Pop? I was given permission to use them and I stated this! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.253.21.232 (talkcontribs)
