April 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm MrClog. Your recent edit(s) to the page List of playing-card nicknames appear to have added incorrect information, so they have been removed for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. MrClog (talk) 16:11, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

what incorrect information was added? Fact buster856888 (talk) 16:21, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any source for the term "Dara Casey" hand? --MrClog (talk) 16:24, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The term Dara Casey was used by 2 online world series poker players on separate occasions. dara Casey is a famous enough online poker player that has yet to win any major tournament and for that reason it was used to aggravate him as it is the worst possible hand. It was used to aggravate him so he would bet more. a common poker strategie you are probably unaware of. Fact buster856888 (talk) 16:30, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Fact buster856888: Your personal experience is not a reliable source. Again, you need to cite a reliable source that verifies your additions. Also, please stop insinuating what I do and do not know about poker, as you do not know who I am and so can't tell how much I know about poker. --MrClog (talk) 16:32, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please advise me on how I can give a citation on a verbal commentary of a live online poker stream? Fact buster856888 (talk) 16:32, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Fact buster856888: Comments made by poker players do not qualify as RS for anything else than their own opinion. You will need a reliable source (as explained here). --MrClog (talk) 16:34, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Then please delete all nicknames because that is how nicknames are invented. a poker player says it and then it catches on and others begin to say it. I agree fully that the "Ian's son" was only said by one player and there for may not count I just heard him say it and said I'd add I'd but "a dara casey" has now been said by multiple players and I would like to know how is it possible to get a reliable source to prove this as 0 of these nicknames are going to appear in a dictionary. Fact buster856888 (talk) 16:37, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This isn't about dictionaries. A poker news site that reports on the use of a nickname may also qualify as a reliable source. Your own observations do not. --MrClog (talk) 16:39, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This was heard on a poker news site. A poker game isn't like a court sitting where all things said are wrote down. if you would like I can give the core address the game was live streamed on. Fact buster856888 (talk) 16:41, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If no reliable source mentioned these nicknames, they aren't notable enough for inclusion in the list. --MrClog (talk) 16:47, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

please watch Courtney Gee and Michael staples recent twitch videos where Dara Casey was also playing. thst is the reliable source

Fact buster856888 (talk) 16:51, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If we include every nickname ever used by a poker player in an online and/or real-life poker game, our list would need 100 separate pages. That's why we only include nicknames that have been mentioned in reliable sources. If you disagree, please initiate a discussion at Talk:List of playing-card nicknames instead of readding your content. --MrClog (talk) 17:15, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

this is not my "own observation" it is the observations of the thousands that watches the live stream and the players in the table. Fact buster856888 (talk) 16:52, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not adding a thousand nicknames am I? I'm adding this one again and I guarantee this page won't get edited that often that many more will be added. This page isn't there for the most used terms if it was I wouldn't be using this massive wiki list. it's there to show people every common nickname. I will be adding it again as I feel common sense should prevail here. if you delete it I would like to know where I can report you as there is no where I'm going to find the nickname "a dara Casey" in a scientific general and according to the TandCs common sense should come into play if there can't be a citation got and if the nickname will not be challenged.

Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Fact buster856888, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
