June 2021[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Longhair\talk 16:21, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, HopeToday Media. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Longhair\talk 16:21, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I wish to change me username so I can get back to editing wikipedia because I love editing on here so please change my username to that and we can put this behind us

Decline reason:

The username Jayden is already taken. "we can put this behind us" does not address any of the three points you needed to touch on in your appeal ~ you must:
  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

point 1 my employer was from Fiverr I was paid to write the person an article the company name was HopeToday. Point 2 The reason I was bloked was because my my username because my username suggested I was doing it because of advertising or promotion and I did not know you needeed to add a Paid-contribution disclosure in the talk page or the article im sorry and i promies never to make that mistake again.Point 3 The contributions I intend to make are as follows fixing spelling errors in articles, writting articles of people and places which are not yet on wikipedia and many more. I Hope This answers all of your questions and you can ublock me with this information have a good day

Decline reason:

"Elephantthegreenmile" would be acceptable as a new username. However, this request does not convince me that you understand conflict of interest. Personally I would want to see you go for a time without creating articles about people or companies so you can demonstrate your understanding not just of COI but of other Wikipedia policies such as notability. However, that will be up to the next administrator who reviews your next request, I am declining this one. 331dot (talk) 19:20, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Point 1 I see my mistake first of all I did not state I was paid to write the article and I did not right the article newtrally and I see my mistake. Point 2 I was favouring my employer and did not right the article truthfully and I realize my mistake I will fix this and never do such a thing again. Point 3 I will from here on out write articles about not only people and companys but much more articles which are meaning full. I Hope this will get me unblocked. Thank you for your time.

Decline reason:

Since the user has indicated they have retired, any further unblock discussion is pointless. But even notwithstanding that, there's so much else on this page that argues against unblocking. Ever. — Daniel Case (talk) 04:30, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Longhair, User:Yamla, it is not clear to me at all what to do with this. I sure hope they'll practice copy editing if they start editing for real. Drmies (talk) 17:12, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For what little my opinion is worth, I don't think this person is capable of editing en.wiki. They should stick to their native-language version of Wikipedia for now, after thoroughly reading and understanding all the policies there. --Yamla (talk) 17:21, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)... yep... they "were paid"... "didn't say they were paid"? I don't think we're here to decipher riddles. It's clear promotional editing, and I don't think they're quite ready to begin writing articles in English, or unblock requests for that matter. -- Longhair\talk 17:37, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I am ready to write articles in English. Actually I can speak fluent english in fact. I don't know what I did which made you belive I could not write articles in english but I can wirte and speak in english. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HopeToday Media (talkcontribs) 17:47, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hope, either,
  • your English is good for for a non-native speaker, getting your meaning across, but not polished enough for publication, or,
  • you are a native speaker and your attention to grammar, spelling, and lack of sentence breaks shows a sloppy lack of accuracy. Just my 2¢. Cabayi (talk) 18:00, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok I Understand the problem it is becuase I lack attension to detail I will try and fix that problem but I always check my articles thoroughly before I publish them. But thanks for stating my flaws. HopeToday Media (talk) 20:17, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Elephantthegreenmile, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Blocked for sockpuppetry[edit]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Elephantthegreenmile. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  - TheresNoTime 😺 19:16, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
