Help me![edit]

Please help me with nominating User:Fractionit_solutions for speedy deletion (as long as it fits). The page seems to be blatant advertisment, but trying to place a db-spamuser template gives me a huge floating in front of screen "An automated filter has identified this edit as potentially unconstructive, so it has been disallowed. If this edit is constructive, please report this error. Disruptive editing may result in a block from editing" warning. Is there anything that can be done with the userpage? What users are considered too new for this filter?

Edible Melon (talk) 14:26, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what edit filter you tripped that would cause that notice to come up, but I see that the page has been deleted. If you see the error again please do follow the instructions at the "report this error" link. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:58, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
edit conflict@Edible Melon:, it looks like that page was deleted by admin BethNaught about 19 minutes after you posted this question so the immediate need is moot. According to the edit filter log, the reason you received that message is that, as a new user, you aren't allowed to edit other user's pages. Once you become an autoconfirmed user (which takes just 4 days and 10 edits), you should no longer see that message. This measure was put into place because user pages have historically been a frequent target for vandals. Thanks for your question. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 16:05, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Warning"[edit]

Hi there! You recently went onto my page claiming that my edits were disruptive and incroeeect. I simple am coming here to let you know I am not quite sure what you are talking about. Could you please let me know what exactly I did that would warrant these messages?

Thank you and have a great day. WarriorsFan30112335 (talk) 21:22, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry never mind. You were talking about another user. My bad. Please disregard. Thanks for your understanding. WarriorsFan30112335 (talk) 21:26, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Need Help[edit]

I need to create the page ASIKURRAHMANBD (talk) 14:55, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, ASIKURRAHMANBD. Are you talking about the page Template:Dr. Jashim Uddin Ahmed? You have already created it, however I see two problems with it: it is created in the template namespace instead of the main namespace and it appears to be a copyright violation. The article also seems to miss a lot of spaces. Edible Melon (talk) 15:01, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Who can i write down "Dr Jashim Uddin Ahmed" instant of "Template: Dr Jashim Uddin Ahmed" I will fix copyright by today ASIKURRAHMANBD (talk) 15:21, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User talk:Jasonpattaya, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Josephine W. @Josephine W.: while I have created that user talk page myself (with a speedy deletion nomination notification), I haven't added spam there. I don't think you should have notified me about this (as I have nothinf to do with it). Edible Melon (talk) 05:11, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks![edit]

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

I'm not seeing speedy deletion section[edit]

Could you reput the section of information back into my article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Davisbro3812712 (talkcontribs) 11:52, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article deleted[edit]

I find it unacceptable that I’m always targeted for these contest articles. How is my article being an advertisement or promotion? It simply just stated what the news organization does. I want to appeal for this. The article just said general information, no telling anyone to reach out or pay... I was not promoting it or intending on doing it. I only said the services they offer and what they provide to the Lansing community. Please provide my article back. I did change it maybe you were looking at the old version. Article: Lansing Daily

Davisbro3812712 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:01, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Please note I'm not the user who deleted the page, but the user who tagged it for speedy deletion, and do not have access to its text anymore. I don't think anybody is targeting you in particular. The main reasons why I tagged it were that
  1. the article was poorly referenced (entirely unreferenced at first, then, as far as I remember, one reference linked to a screenshot, another one to the website and the third one to a link that is broken for me);
  2. I also considered the criterion A7 (no credible claim of significance) and tagged with it at first, but later decided that the number of viewers is a valid claim and did not re-add it when removed (possibly due to an edit conflict or accidentally);
  3. you seem to have repeatedly created the article Lukas Liming, and have added text that claims you are the contributor and production stage manager for Lukas Liming to your user page, so I was more likely to suspect a conflict of interest;
  4. the article was created in the mainspace, rather than as a draft, skipping the Articles for creation process.
As I am not an administrator, I cannot undelete or even access your article, but you can contact the deleting administrator, User:Jimfbleak or create a request at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion. I'm sorry if I have tagged the article incorrectly. Edible Melon (talk) 14:30, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I have noticed that you have moved the page Lansing Daily to the mainspace again. However, it doesn't seem like you fixed any points raised by me or User:Jimfbleak. All its references are still published by Lansing Daily and all articles must be verifiable, and it is still unclear why is it notable. Edible Melon (talk) 07:42, 2 January 2020 (UTC)

Good morning,

I gave valid proof in the references and provided proof on how it is a credible source. There are links to the Facebook page which is verifiable by the "About" page with a verified email. It's notable because it has a ton of visits and has returned and has over 90 articles. If it is published by Lansing Daily then it should be verifiable and some of the links have proof with screenshots.

As for not having an office, from what I understand Lansing Daily is mostly done by volunteers and Lansing Daily makes no money and is a non-profit organization giving back to the local community. I heard from sources that do work for the company, they say they work remotely on their computer.

I have expressed the amount of subscribers/visitors and I believe the article should remain on the mainspace. Davisbro3812712 (talk) 08:00, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. While Lansing Daily can be a source of information on Lansing Daily, it should not be the only source. Relevant link: WP:Notability#General notability guideline. Edible Melon (talk · contribs · block user) 08:19, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In regards to your recent comment about having more than one source, I understand where you are coming from and that you want to cross check everything to make sure it is legitimate and not some spam article with intentions to promote.

However, there are no other official sources that are available to provide for this article and I have provided screenshots, an official Lansing Daily page screenshot which proves the fact that they made a statement, and they provided the amount of users/subscribers that are registered or actively viewing their site.

From my understanding, no sources are available to provide further evidence. I have provided all the possible evidence and I believe that this news publisher is notable.

This news publisher was granted access to Google News, and further more news publishing centers.

From my heart, I would never made an article on anything I don't believe would make it. Lansing Daily can defiantly make it and they are notable because most news publishing companies try to make as much money off as you and Lansing Daily isn't doing that. As a matter of fact, Lansing Daily wants to help businesses with advertising solutions to bring more revenue to them and help find missing suspects, missing dogs, and missing people.

Edible Melon, all I'm asking for is that you kindly accept this. I wouldn't make a false article, nor would I make an article without substantial proof and evidence that it deserves to be on Wikipedia.

Davisbro3812712 (talk) 08:58, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Davisbro3812712: What is your evidence that it deserves to be on Wikipedia? "From my understanding, no sources are available to provide further evidence" -- then it is not notable. Have you read the link I provided? Quoting the most important sentence: "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list". What do you mean by "all I'm asking for is that you kindly accept this"? Edible Melon (talk · contribs · block user) 09:15, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I provided all of the evidence and proof in the Wikipedia references section - and I have updated that since it was taken down. I believe it shall stay up on Wikipedia because of the fact on all the good things it has helped the local Lansing community with such as:

rescuing dogs, lost teens, lost elderly people, fugitives and more.

The fact that they are only volunteers and they are not getting paid to do any of this is also notable and should be taken into consideration at all times - the volunteers are online at around 3 A.M. working on stories for the day and that is dedication to their community and whilst they are doing it all for no money.

I'm just asking that you keep this article up on Wikipedia just for all the hard work that these volunteers do for the Lansing community and giving back to the homeless and giving blankets, toothpaste, toothbrushes and more to people in need of it. All the volunteers at Lansing Daily all have good intentions on helping the community and they will definitely stay around for many, many years and will continue on stopping violence in the community and informing people the right way with trusted sources and accuracy.

Hello. Your comment implies this account is operated by multiple people (quoting: "We are thankful") and that is disallowed (link: Wikipedia:Username policy § Shared accounts). I am sure the page does violate Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not § Wikipedia is not a soapbox or means of promotion and the guideline Wikipedia:Autobiography (tl; dr: "do not write an autobiography"). What do you mean by "a team of yours"? Edible Melon (talk · contribs · block user) 11:05, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
