I'd appreciate another set of eyes on this page. User:Jky52 has been repeatedly been deleting sourced, but negative info about the Barbaro family. [1] [2] [3] while incorrectly dismissing a nonfiction source, claiming it's novel. [4] I added 5 new additional English and Italian sources. Jky52 blanked them again. Stop Deleting Our Images[edit]

I don't know what else to say here. I am the Vice President of MArketing for Winning Moves Games. We create board games and puzzles worldwide. You deleted the image I uploaded of our game - Go To The Head of the Class. This is our game...we marketed it, we took teh photo, we provided it to Amazon, B&N and every other online retailer. I personally uploaded it to the Wiki page. I understand the policies and I am very happy to know that there are moderators out there policing the Wiki pages but this is getting a bit annoying. My images keep getting deleted....for products that we created, invented, and/or marketed. IT seems that each time I explain this to someone...someone else comes along and deletes the image.

I've already sent in all the necessary forms and paperwork required to prove that these images belong to us...heck, you can see ALL our images on our website winning-moves.com

Thank you, joe —Preceding unsigned comment added by Joesequino (talkcontribs) 16:50, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Zyalover's still uploading non-free images without descriptions. I'm a newbie in this field, so would you please take a look? Zyalover is ignoring all warnings and failiing to communicate. I think another, longer block is needed. Thanks, Airplaneman talk 13:22, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is it possible for me to ask ESPN for the rights to use their images. Or is that highly unlikely to succeed?--Ezekiel 7:19 S†rawberry Fields (sign) 14:32, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Based on the fact that you said "experience", I'm assuming you have asked people before and more often than not, been denied. Oh well, I'll give it a shot.--Ezekiel 7:19 S†rawberry Fields (sign) 17:35, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I did talk to ESPN and they were not willing to relese images, However they told me to check out organazations that they aquired them from. So far not so good. Getty Images requires purchase and I'm not sure about the others.--Ezekiel 7:19 S†rawberry Fields (sign) 17:51, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sigh, you were right.--Ezekiel 7:19 S†rawberry Fields (sign) 20:01, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I took your advice and looked at some images, Mike Grier on Flickr. Are there still too many rights on it or is it usable?--Ezekiel 7:19 S†rawberry Fields (sign) 00:06, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You my friend are correct, I later relized that when I relized I can filter the search to only creative commons licensed images. I found one I liked of Henik Tallinder, but when I tried to upload it to wikipedia, it was reccomended to upload it to Commons. When I tried to do that, it got way to complicated. Does it have to be on Commons?--Ezekiel 7:19 S†rawberry Fields (sign) 15:10, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Roger that, so what category and what license should I put the file under?--Ezekiel 7:19 S†rawberry Fields (sign) 17:29, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I found a pretty good photo, but I'm not sure what category and license to put it under. Can you help?--Ezekiel 7:19 S†rawberry Fields (sign) 16:51, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User:Heman60[edit]

You tagged some of Heman60's images and I have retagged all of his image as missing permission because he has failed to provide a working url to any image, even though he has now added a creative commons licence tag and all the images have a copyright watermark, so I have to assume they have been stolen from the website without permission of the copyright holder. You may want to watch him for a while as I am doing. Cheers ww2censor (talk) 03:18, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Index on Censorship[edit]

All the images are, I would argue, fair use, but they all seem to be disputed - even the Index logo, which surely has to be fair use - but it is hard to do more than make the claim.

The one that I know has been subject to dispute is the Beckett, but when republished the copyright to the manipulated image (ie not the original) was ascribed to Index on Censorship.

I can notify Index as to the use of the images so they can raise objections... would that help?

Wings Across America (WAA-08)[edit]

Dear Sir, I humbly disagree with your decision and comments by your associates to delete my article. We feel that the submission for approval is entirely informative and well documented as an ongoing event. It is not meant as an "advertisement", there are no revenues gained by participation in this event. We have a website and did not intend to use the article for that purpose. Needless to say we are disappointed in the "recommendation to delete". Our intent simply is to enlighten and encourage radio controlled model aviation. Your reconsideration and commentaries would be most appreciated. Donald e. Jiskra Sr. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Donald E. Jiskra Sr (talkcontribs) 17:32, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

MY contribution: SM U-25 001 Cruises.jpg - proposed by YOU for deletion[edit]

Sorry, user:Eskog: I saw that you still propose this file for deletion, even after I had added correctly a license. Dont we have other things to do at Wiki ? Why isnt there a "discussion" if users delete each others texts ? Please tell me exactly the reason, why you think that this file is worth deletion ? Another (hidden) rule I do not know ? Do you think this is very helpfull for newbies like me, to try to delete after mysterious, secret rules their contributions ? As I see from your talk page, you are a very self-determined specialist in deleting other peoples images. Very GREAT contribution to the Wiki community. Maybe you may consider to be more constructive here ? Leave me alone please. Its a shame, that I cannot rate people like YOU from -10 to +10, to valorize the "help" I received.--Hans Joachim Koerver 19:24, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Would it be possible for you to remove all the templates that now cover this user's talk page and summarise them with one post (or, alternatively, would you mind if I did), as a whole string of templates on a new user's talk page seems very bitey to me, and I don't want to scare away what could be a valuable contributor? Thanks in advance. GedUK  15:46, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. GedUK  16:03, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done If you find anymore, could you just add the filenames to the bottom of the list, rather than templating. Thanks again, and thanks for your work on image copyrights! GedUK  16:12, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the copyright for the image PeterDunnAMZN.jpg is held by Peter Dunn (the author), not Amazon, though Amazon is licensed to use it. I'm happy to upload it and save it with a different name. EFSlattery (talk) 21:11, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please clarify what you said about File:Jaikoz.png[edit]

That is, what you said here about a screenshot of a software product for editing MP3 tags.

  1. Did you mean that album art is categorically excluded without a publisher's release, and therefore also this screenshot that included album art? What confuses me are pictures like this one: File:Fool_for_the_City.jpg. Are they different somehow, or is it that their rationale for fair use is simply wrong?
  2. Are screenshots restricted, or only screenshots lifted from the publisher? I'm not sure what user:Blargh29 meant by his comment.

Forgive me if there are obvious answers to these questions, but I've never posted media, and I found no guidelines for album art or screenshots. Yappy2bhere (talk) 00:50, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your speedy reply. So, a screenshot of that software product in the article about that software product (but without album art) is an acceptable use of non-free content, but use of that same screenshot in another article is not? Yappy2bhere (talk) 04:02, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jinnah pictures[edit]

As these pictures pictures more then 50 years old so, according to Pakistan copyright law these are under public license or domain it does not matter what is the source of these pictures. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Noman488 (talkcontribs) 17:28, 24 December 2009

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Train-to-pakistan-delhi1947.jpg see the box under the picture it explains the situation as the pictures were taken before the creation of pakistan so they are 63 old . —Preceding unsigned comment added by Noman488 (talkcontribs) 17:48, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pakistan was created in 1947, and it did not exist when most of these images of Muhammad Ali Jinnah were created. I think the authors may be British photographers and they are the copyright holders. See {{PD-UK}}--AYousefzai (talk) 00:59, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Going way back.....[edit]

Hi there. I was talking with one of my friends recently who told me about the years-old deletion of Akroness. I looked at the AfD, which you closed back in 2006, and I see that it looked pretty uncontroversial. I wanted to see if there's any potential to salvage it though, so I'm hoping you wouldn't mind restoring it and its history to User:Bdb484/Akroness, provided too much time hasn't lapsed.

Thanks. — Bdb484 (talk) 03:12, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

copyright permission[edit]

Hi, I received notice that the copyright for File:BarryM.JPG was unclear and the picture was deleted, but I did send an email with the explicit permission of the copyright holder to permissions-en@wikimedia.org on Jan 5. I resent it just now (Jan 12 at 11.47 EST), please make sure you check the email, I don´t know what else to do any more. Did you want to leave a rationale? I don't think you need to, but it looks a bit odd without one, and I felt it necessary to note the omission. I hope you don't mind. - Jarry1250 [Humorous? Discuss.] 12:34, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,ESkog. :-) Following up with you about this image.

After reviewing the image, I determined it to be an image created to misrepresent the appearance of an individual. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy, so I deleted it and left a warning for the uploader. If you have further questions about this image then you can contact me on site or by email. FloNight♥♥♥♥ 13:22, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Administrator ESkog.

I checked other places for this question but couldn't get a satisfactory answer. The question is: Is Windows 2000 Recovery Console.png copyright-protected? Personally, I think it maybe {{PD-text}}. But since you know a good deal about laws, I though I ask you to verify. What do you think?

Thanks in advance, Fleet Command (talk) 13:29, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
