Speedy deletion of "Fungi in Egypt and Africa"[edit]

A page you created, Fungi in Egypt and Africa, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it has no content, other than external links, categories, "see also" sections, rephrasing of the title, and/or chat-like comments.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. The Red 17:45, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Egypt's Got Talents has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOTE

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. July 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Education in Egypt do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia.
Your edit here to Education in Egypt was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://icea-egy.blogspot.com) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 03:29, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Unless you have your own Wikipedia article, I would not suggest adding yourself to the list of Egyptian scientists.--EdwardZhao (talk) 20:51, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test on the page List of Egyptian scientists worked, and it has been reverted or removed. However, if you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox instead. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Katieh5584 (talk) 21:04, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The recent edit you made to Fungi of Egypt and North Africa constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. Katieh5584 (talk) 22:08, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Fungi of Egypt and North Africa, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 11:00, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Gihan Sami Soliman has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 15:09, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:GIGI.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:GIGI.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 15:20, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your images[edit]

Most of the images you recently uploaded look like they are either scans or screenshots from some low-resolution video. Are you really claiming you took these images yourself? If they are from your camera, could you please provide higher-quality copies? Please explain how you created them. Fut.Perf. 18:10, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello? Can you please answer to my question here? If you don't explain, I'll have to assume you copied those images from somewhere and they are not really yours. Fut.Perf. 16:15, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

External Links[edit]

Please read Wikipedia:External links. This covers the guidelines for adding external links (links to content outside of Wikipedia). You have repeatedly added external links to article text, which is against this guideline. Also read about what types of links are appropriate. Note that links to social media sites (such as Facebook) are not acceptable. These guidelines enjoy wide support from a consensus of other editors, and failing to abide by them can result in being blocked. If you have questions about this after reviewing the information in the link I provided, please ask. We welcome new editors, but at the same time, ask that they take the advice of experienced editors to help them become familiar with our policies and guidelines. Cheers!!! jsfouche ☽☾Talk 02:50, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Fungi of Egypt and North Africa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 02:58, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Egypt's Got Talents requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Recently created articles[edit]

We welcome new editors to Wikipedia, but we do have guidelines and policies about articles. At the top of this page are some excellent links to help familiarize yourself with them. While I personally applaud your efforts related to education and fungi, we STRONGLY discourage people from writing autobiographies and editing subjects that they have a conflict of interest with. Wikipedia is not a promotional website, nor is it for personal essays. It is an encyclopedia. Therefore, several of your recent articles are being scrutinized for not adhering to these guidelines and policies. Please do not take it personal. It is not a reflection on you nor your contributions. It is merely an attempt to keep Wikipedia growing according to our community guidelines. Thank you. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 03:14, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. Autobiographies[edit]

Hello! As you have claimed to be the subject of the article that you have created and continue to edit, you are stongly urged to discontinue editing the article as stated at WP:Autobiography. If you continue to edit the article, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Several editors are watching and working on the page so if you have something that you would like to add, please request that it be added on the talk page. Please respond to this message with your intent. If no answer is made, I'll be forced to suggest that you be blocked from editing the page. OlYellerTalktome 20:15, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have suggested that you be blocked from editing at WP:COIN. You agreed to stop editing the article, continue to edit the article, continue to edit other articles that you have a COI with, and refuse to stop at the request of other users.
Several editors have spent a great deal of time attempting to explain WP policies and guidelines to you and you simply seem to ignore them. I think that's unfair.
I just wanted to let you know about the report. If you have questions, feel free to ask here. OlYellerTalktome 21:12, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How do you want to proceed?[edit]

Hi Doveye71, you perhaps have come to the conclusion that Wikipedia's rules make it seem like an unfriendly environment. I am not that experienced with Wikipedia (have been an editor for half a year) but I have just come from what felt like a brutal effort to save a different article. Wikipedia reflects the highlights of society, it is not society itself. Your work for Egypt is admirable and, IMO, must continue. Your last comment on the AfD page indicated agreement to ideas expressed. Several ideas were just before your comment; what did you mean? DonaldRichardSands (talk) 22:13, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

OK .. I agreed on the sandbox approach of yours(with gratitude to your comments even if/when the article gets deleted) .. I do not exactly know what it is but seems to me like I would propose modification to the article when I think something needs to be change rather than working on it, and let others help .. is that what it is ?G.S.
