IPL Season 2008[edit]

Sorry, I hadn't noticed that citation. Is there any tie-breaker for orange cap too?

IPL Season 2008[edit]

I do understand that economy (or bowling average) should and could be used as a tie-breaker when more than one person have taken the highest number of wickets. But I'm not sure if any tie-breaker is used to decide who will wear the purple cap in the tournament. Do you have any reference that supports that? As far as I understand, if more than one person scores the highest number of runs, then both of them wear the orange cap on the field. The same is probably true for the purple cap too.

Reply:Sachin Tendulkar[edit]

Thank you. Yes, that is the idea. It is just a start, experimenting the concept. I am going to create ODI matches, Test Runs, Test matches, ODI centuries, Test Centuries. These are the most updated stats for Sachin, and in several pages (the main article, achievements page, List of ODI records page, List of Test records page, Indian cricket records page etc). I don't think we need a template for Average, because that stat is mainly used in the main article (Sachin Tendulkar) page. We can always create it if the need be, but I dont see the need of it now. - KNM Talk 17:29, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Take a look at {{Sachin-stats}} and its talk page. Let me know if you have any suggestions, either in my talk page or in the template talk page. Thank you - KNM Talk 18:58, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I have gone ahead and added average too as part of that template. See the list of statistics available from that template in its talk page. We can use all those stats in any of the Wikipedia articles. I have updated Sachin Tendulkar, Indian Cricket Records, List of ODI Cricket Records, List of Test Cricket Records, Achievements of Sachin Tendulkar to derive inputs from that template. If you see any other articles which use Sachin's statistics, you can use this template, or just bring that into my attention. Thanks - KNM Talk 16:34, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sachin-stats[edit]

Hi there! Just observed ODI-innings addition to the template, which is fine and adds value to the template. To keep it consistent among both forms of the game (Test and ODI), I just added Test-innings too. Going forward, let us start a discussion first if we need to add any more fields. I hope that will be fine with all the editors of that template. - KNM Talk 17:46, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
