I saw this on the Current Events page:

Kashmir

Deepak, I like the nice work on the Terrorism in Kashmir article. Would you like to clean up the Kashmir page as well? It is now a big mess, and many sections sound incoherent. I'd like to edit the "Claims" sections by getting rid of the monologue there, and replacing it with plain old facts, but I'm afraid taking that step first would initiate yet another edit/flame war. So, would you discuss it too in the talk page, and possibly take the first steps towards making the article better? I saw many older movies on Kashmir, and it would be a real shame if one of the most beautiful places on earth is tarnished by a lousy, incoherent article. So, please help with that. Hi! I noticed you listed a bunch of images on WP:IFD, giving the reason as "no source". Many of them were already listed on Wikipedia:Possibly Unfree Images, which is a deletion process as well. Terror incident page

Recently you added an event to the List of terrorist incidents, a car bomb which killed 4 Indian Army personnel. I am curious as to why you chose this one, out of the hundreds of other attacks in Kashmir. There have been many more attacks there which have killed more people; and, coincidentally, civilians, instead of military soldiers. Why does this one get special precedence--because it is a suicide attack? Kashmiri militants have used them before. I can see why the Ayodhya attack is important, but not this one, out of all the attacks on the army. PBP 23 July 2005

Hi, couple of questions for your lordship

You have two really disgusting habits which reveal your character as a dishonest wikipedian.

1. You deliberately do a Save page up to 10 or more times, in order to artificially inflate the number of edits.
2. You hide your obvious Hindu username by wrapping it under the anglo/saxon alias IncMan.

If you are so embarrassed of your heritage and of being a Hindu (and I don't blame you for that, since all hindus have a good reason to be ashamed of themselves), then why don't you simply choose a neutral username, like I have, since it doesn't upset anybody and doesn't make people think that one's edits are going to be biased because he belongs to this religion or he belongs to that religion?

I think your deceitful practices have gone far enough, and it's high time someone showed you the mirror, so that it can become apparent to you that the only people you might be fooling, IncMan, are extremely new wikipedians.

Hinduism article

I read the Hinduism article. It is pathetic. I don't know how it made it into the featured list. Or maybe the damage was done later. Some problems with the article:

• Extremely long, with many unnecessary details
• Highly unorganized, poor continuity
• Poor language
• POV at places
• Important things missing

A major overhaul is required.

I answered to your comment in my talk page. I also archived the old talk, including the rant. You might notice that, if you show an adverse reaction to a troll, he'd just reply with another rant. So, I guess following Gandhiji's policy of non-violence (here, ignoring the rants) would be a better solution :).

I think we can round up 3/4 editors who are genuinely interested in a NPOV version of Kashmir ... free from POV in either side. Given a week or so, we can make it a lot better. Let's hope for the best. Thanks. --Ragib 05:00, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

Homosexuality in India

There is very little on the Internet or on Wikipedia about Homosexuality in non-Western cultures, including India. I was wondering if you would like to contribute towards creating a detailed article about Homosexuality in India, one that discusses historical, literary, cultural and religious attitudes towards homosexuality, as well as the current situation. I know for a fact that India has a significant LGBT community, though a lot of it is underground. I wrote the article Gay rights in India. Could you take a look at it and integrate it with a larger article on Homosexuality in India. --Notquiteauden 01:41, 3 August 2005 (UTC)

South Asia

well, the article does its best to explain the terms. The point is that the two terms largely overlap, so that two separate articles would be identical in large parts. Also note the terminological uncertainty. South Asia is mostly an American term, I believe, and can take various meanings. The main difference as I understand it is that the Subcontinent is a geographical or geological term, while South Asia is mostly a political term, i.e. territories controlled by China would by definition not belong to SA, even if they belong to the Subcontinent. The point of merging the article is precisely to discuss these difficulties, i.e. the exact differences between the terms, in one place. dab (ᛏ) 06:32, 5 August 2005 (UTC)

I think we should have this discussion on the article talkpage. Note that the term 'South Asia' is not compositional, it does not mean the same as "the south of Asia" If you read the article,

• "Some or all of Afghanistan is sometimes considered part of the subcontinent." (why "ex-Afghanistan"?)
• "The term 'South Asia' has thus become the politically correct term of what in times before 1947, the end of the British Raj and the beginning of the First Indo-Pakistani War, was simply known as 'India'"
• "The South Asian Association for Regional Co-Operation, or SAARC is an association of 7 countries of South Asia, namely Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka." I. e. basically the Subcontinent plus some islands. Not Afghanistan. Afghanistan is arguably in SA, and arguably partially or wholly part of the Subcontinent, but politically part of Central Asia.

Military of India

The links on Military of India to the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947, Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, and Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 currently are seen simply as their dates (1947, 1965, and 1971) and it seems somewhat confusing. Bengali language

Hi Deepak, hope this new semester is not a big load on you and your great edits in wikipedia. Anyway, I reverted one of your edits because the article is not a copyvio, rather the page in question got the text from Nationmaster.com and/or worldlanguage.com . I'm sure of this because I edited/added many sections of the article. I reinserted your refactored text on the Silchar incident, though. The incident actually occurred, and the tension between the Bengali speaking and the Assamese speaking people in Assam is a big issue there. Funny, because the languages are almost 80% + similar.
