Nomination of Donja R. Love for deletion[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Donja R. Love is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Donja R. Love until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:21, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
- Hi! I received a notification about this. The best way to keep the page from being deleted is to find multiple in-depth, independent reliable sources that discuss Love and/or his work. Primary sources, such as official websites, press releases, and anything released by Love and people/organizations affiliated with him, won't be able to show notability. Be careful about self-published sources like blogs, as these cannot show notability because they typically do not undergo the type of editorial oversight required to be a reliable source nor are they typically seen as a reliable source by other reliable sources. Also be careful of short articles like this one, as they're often seen as too short to really give notability. Be wary of sources that discuss the main topic (in this case notifications that a play will occur), as sometimes these are so similarly written that they don't really show a depth of coverage, especially when they're short. What you need here are things like reviews of Love's work in reliable sources, academic sources discussing him and/or his work, and the like. This can unfortunately be difficult to find sometimes, especially when you get into niche off-Broadway stuff, as there's always more things needing coverage than there are outlets that would cover them.
- Something else to be careful of are point-of-view words like "passionate". The reason for this is that these are typically seen as "buzzwords" used in press releases to promote a person, organization, or so on by putting them in the best light possible.
