Need source for note added to Filename[edit]

Thank you for your addition to the Filename article. Content on Wikipedia needs to be verifiable. We do this via citations. Your edit comment said "Replaced 'citation needed' with information from MSDN concerning the reason for the restriction of last file name character (no dot or space)." I have reverted your edit as you did not provide a citation on the MSDN article that supports "In Windows utilities the space and the period are not allowed as the final character of a filename" nor did you provide a citation for the part you added which is "Although the NTFS file system allows this, the Windows shell and user interface do not support it." I suspect the latter part will need two cites, one for "the NTFS file system allows this" and the other for "the Windows shell and user interface do not support it.

Dear Marc, I assumed that the reference already available at the end of the paragraph would suffice, as the newly added information comes from the same source (either that source was updated, or the information was overlooked the first time?) It just didn't make sense to me to add a new citation to the same reference halfway in the paragraph? For the information on NTFS allowing the dot and space as the ending character: this is not explicitly documented as a file system feature, instead it is NOT documented as a limitation. Possible references would be the article on NTFS on wikipedia as well as KB 100108, which I could add as a new citation? --Daankets (talk) 07:29, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
