Welcome and a question[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. I see that you've only edited the article Gregory Clark (economist) and appear to be concerned with his reputation. Do you have a personal or professional relationship with this individual? Wikipedia has certain rules in place for managing conflicts of interest which do not preclude you from contributing, but do require disclosure. Thanks, Generalrelative (talk) 19:37, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have a professional relationship with him. I work at the same institute. Cniel (talk) 05:13, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. Here is some information on managing a conflict of interest:

Information icon Hello, Cniel. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.

The first and second points above are important, and your recent edits go against them. Please also read about our Bold, Revert, Discuss process and our policy on Biographies of Living Persons. Finally please understand that in all cases the responsibility for achieving consensus for inclusion is on those seeking to include disputed content.
