Social Media Activism Peer Review 1[edit]

Content[edit]

Under safety guides for media activism, it could improve the content by addressing it from an international perspective or identifying that the article is from an American perspective.

CMM Response: Added (see below)

Naming the organizations that could assist safety would also be useful.

CMM Response: Added to external guides and organizations. Also cited within paragraph (links can be found in references)

Adding information about dangers of underage posting may also fit well here.

Under criticisms of media activism, we believe different wording could strengthen this article. Reference 36 may not need "et al." Double check reference style.

CMM Response: changed

Safety guides and criticisms are both important pieces of content to include, although the risks do vary based on country and status and must be taken into consideration.

CMM Response: Great point, added a note about this into the paragraph

Under organizations, consider adding Media Matters. Otherwise, this list seems comprehensive.

Under the section about hashtags, try to go back further than the past few months. I know hashtags are pretty recent, but try going back a year or two for an example.

Under see also, links to external safety guides may also be a good idea.

Figures[edit]

Question: Is your photo original? It is hard to tell.

CMM Response: The chart we added came from Creative Commons. The other images were part of the original article we are editing and adding to.

I would move the picture further down so that it goes with the occupy section

CMM Response: switched images around

References[edit]

For the page overall the references look good. Which did you add? Make sure you incorporate open sources that are easily accessible to everyone!

CMM Response: We added references 11 and 30-36. We used a mix of open sources and references articles in order to share some findings from peer reviewed journals that the general public may not otherwise have access to. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cmorath92 (talkcontribs) 13:42, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
