A fellow Scottish scientist, greetings! You've done impressive work with Immunology, which the Wikiproject has ignored a little. I've added the MCB tag to some of the immunology articles, but I'm sure you'd have a better idea of which ones are out there. Ditto on the great work! Antibody, in particular, is really shaping up nicely. I just have to ask, (in the spirit of anonymity) does your real name "sort of" rhyme with Leaven Cooled? your doing the references on Eicosanoid long-hand. Would you like a hand to do the inline references?

Well, I'm using templates; it's not completely long-hand. I'm happy to have help, thanks! I like the Harvard style of references. It's not quite clear to me what 'inline' references mean. Does it mean a cite within the text (like I've got now with the Harvard style?) Or does it mean having all the info of the cite inline with a text, using <ref>? As near as I can tell, if we use the <ref> approach with the cite-info inline, there's no way to have an alphabetical list of references. The link you gave says that 'inline citations are considered mandatory', but it's not a policy doc.

I like the citation templates for several reasons, including that they enable the automated processing of citations by bots. The relevant policy WP:CITE#Full_citations notes that

Some editors find templates helpful, while other editors find them annoying, particularly when used inline in the text.

Put me in the camp that finds them annoying when used inline in the text.

vWF and acute phase[edit]

My edit comment meant that factor VIII, which is normally bound to von Willebrand factor, is an acute phase protein (which it is, of course). However, vWF itself is not - unless I've missed something. It is mentioned on the acute phase protein page, but when I checked with the Oxford Textbook of Medicine, Prof Pepys doesn't list it as such. Harrison's doesn't provide such a list. PMID 17433810 does seem to indicate that it rises in inflammation, so the matter is clearly not settled. JFW | T@lk 21:32, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:IgBS.png[edit]

Evolution talk page[edit]

I don't mean to be offensive as I was talking more about a political regime influenced by religious fundamentalism. It is a fact that the Iranian government is repressing and suppressing scientist in Iran as published in Science magazine. Perhaps I should just add the reference. Snake articles[edit]

Hi Ciar! I've noticed you've been busy to a certain degree with the snake articles, but I also see that you know something about biochemistry and so forth. So, I was thinking: perhaps you'd be interested in making some more serious contributions to the venomous snake articles, particularly to the venom sections. You may not be a toxinologist, but I'm sure you understand more about the subject than I do. I was thinking of more venom information like that in Echis, Echis carinatus and Daboia, but I struggle with the source material, because to me it usually looks to be written by specialists for specialists (or just poorly written). If you think this would be outside your field (or just don't have the time), then I'd understand, but if you'd like to give it a try, I'd be happy to help out where I can. IMO, the language that's there now isn't all that bad, especially when the terms are linked to articles that make a good job of explaining the concepts. What I'd really like to see it new stuff.
