Safetray[edit]

Let me start by thanking you for being honest about your conflict of interest, rather than trying to hide it. Your comments at my talk page were quite enlightening and encouraging; thank you. I agree with you that Safetray seems to pass our notability standards (thank you for looking at those!), so an article should be reasonable.

Unfortunately, the article as it was when you created it was still too close to promotional language to be acceptable, so I'm not willing to restore it. However, your comments convince me that you can write a neutral article, so I'd encourage you to rewrite it. Here are the sources that you used:

I think the best course of action would be for you to write the article in a userspace subpage (directions, if you don't already know how to do this) and ask for someone else to move the subpage back to Safetray when you're done. That way, you could do the writing (especially since you're using print sources, which others obviously don't have), but a neutral party could review it to avoid conflict of interest issues. I would be willing to do this if you'd like (just leave another note at my talk page), or you could ask for help by going to WP:COIN and asking for someone to review it and either move it or offer constructive criticism. Nyttend (talk) 15:46, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

By the way — my refusal to undelete the article is not meant to "punish" you. It's simply that you'd still need to do enough rewriting that it would be no different from starting over from scratch. Nyttend (talk) 15:58, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm on break at work, and I have a two-hour appointment this evening; I'll try to look at it tonight. Nyttend (talk) 17:05, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I just realised that I forgot to check it last night; I'm sorry. There were a few issues with the page, but I've changed them and moved the page to Safetray again; most of the things I fixed were technical issues (e.g. putting spaces between punctuation and citations), not problems with the content. Thanks for your work; if you have any questions, please ask me again at my talk page. Nyttend (talk) 12:44, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
By all means feel free to participate. Except in cases where the creator of a page is obviously not acting in good faith, it's always helpful to have the creator's input at a deletion discussion. Nyttend (talk) 16:47, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 16:11, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Due diligence[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident in which you may be involved. Thank you. BusterD (talk) 05:36, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to add that your behavior here has been pretty good, and you've done the right thing by not trying to mislead or coverup. My reason for bringing the discussion is that I believe there are larger issues at stake in this case (unrelated to your work), and I ask your forgiveness if I've short-stroked your social media actions as "bragging". BusterD (talk) 05:49, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for letting me know, I will continue to follow the debate. Do you think it would be helpful to add in the other products called Safetray under a new heading on the article? I am happy to do this. Carolinewhitham (talk) 10:18, 18 June 2012 (UTC)Carolinewhitham[reply]
It appears others disagree with my interpretation of the situation. I'd wait until the discussion is complete, and you are under no obligation to endorse or mention other products even then. (BTW, it's not necessary to write your own account name at the end of your posts, using the four tildes as you have been doing is sufficient.) BusterD (talk) 12:02, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The AfD procedure was closed as keep. This is very much to your credit, because discussion consensus seemed to indicate you and others had applied sufficient reliable sources for the page to stand on its own. Good for you. My argument (that your participation as an involved editor muddied the case) was discounted, perhaps correctly. So it remains for you to apply reliable sources when you see them, continue to edit in a neutral manner, and perhaps broaden your area of content work to demonstrate you're actually here to improve the encyclopedia, as opposed to promote the product previously under discussion. I hope you'll find that editing Wikipedia isn't a big deal, can be intrinsically enjoyable, and even rewarding. For my part, I apologize if anything I said here or in other forums made you less willing to participate. If I can be of any assistance, feel free to call on me. (BTW, as a former waiter myself, I think the innovation is cool.) BusterD (talk) 00:14, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Buster, I really appreciate all the good faith I have met with on Wikipedia. There's so much to learn, but everyone has been very helpful and I do try to take on board the advice that experienced editors and admins have been giving me.Carolinewhitham (talk) 09:57, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject Cooperation[edit]

Since no one has mentioned it yet, I thought I would let you know about Wikiproject Cooperation. If you'd ever like assistance or another editor to look over your articles, feel free to ask. Also, feel free to make use of the Paid Editor Help page. I hope your experiences on WIkipedia have been enjoyable so far and I look forward to any other articles you'll be making in the future.
